Wearing gold or showing off expensive items is completely different from wearing a shirt with the bitcoin logo or gold logo printed on it. As some people have said, wearing a shirt with a gold or bitcoin logo does not mean they have a lot of bitcoin or a lot of gold. Just like if I have a shirt with the logo of a Lamborghini supercar, do I have to own a supercar to wear it, or does wearing a shirt with the logo ensure that I own a supercar? There is a huge difference between wearing a shirt or hat with a bitcoin logo and people actually owning bitcoins.

What I’m saying is Bitcoin here in my country is not that widely acceptable like other country such as EU and US which Bitcoin is just a normal investment.

I understand what you are trying to say because your country might probably accept Bitcoin as normal investment or many people are already knowledgeable in Bitcoin. This is not the same case with our country in terms of Bitcoin acceptance. You should understand the difference on culture between yours and mine. We are commenting based on our country not in general.

I honestly do not see any wrong with wearing bitcoin clothing, at least, here in my country, clothes designed with Bitcoin logo have become very rampart, it has become very common that even non bitcoin holders are buying and wearing it, not particularly because of the bitcoin logo but because they maybe like the color of the cloth.

I am very sure of this based on one recent happening where someone I know very well was wearing a bitcoin logoed t-shirt, he was never into cryptocurrency, and neither has he ever bought even 1 satoshi, Infact, he knows absolutely nothing about bitcoin. I one day approached him and asked him if he knew the meaning of the logo drawn on his t-shirt, he's response was.."who cares about logo, I like the color of the t-shirt, that's why I bought it".

So, yeah, not every one wearing a bitcoin logoed cloth is actually holding bitcoin, or are into crypto.

Wearing Bitcoin clothes does make people curious, but it doesnt automatically mean you own Bitcoin, does it? Even though I've never worn Bitcoin clothing, it means more to me in a symbolic way than a real one. Your experience is part of a bigger conversation about how visible cryptocurrency fans are. Some people might not want to be bothered by your support for Bitcoin, but does that make it less important?

Bitcoin isnt just about how much its worth; its also about its ideas about decentralized banking. Wearing that kind of clothing could be seen as a sign of support, not always as a sign of control. Shouldnt it be very clear which one this is? It also raises an interesting "pseudo-problem": Are we overestimating the risk or underestimating the power of open support for new technologies? Its possible that the real weakness is not in the clothes we wear, but in how we protect our digital goods and ourselves.

Yup, they will assume that you're interested in bitcoin that's why you have a customized shirt like that. Even if you have bitcoin merch, It doesn't mean that you own BTC, it's just like a support to this famous crypto coin. Wearing some bitcoin merch in public is really amazing because people who see it thought that you are engaging or supporting bitcoin, especially in today's era when bitcoin is so popular.

Has anyone ever tried wearing a Bitcoin clothing in public? I wore mine to an event earlier this week and noticed that most of the young age people were looking at it. One person even asked me if I owned a Bitcoin(which I've answered him ). It just popped into my mind that is it making myself vulnerable to bad people? We are aware that we should keep quiet if we own Bitcoin because of the risk that someone will hurt us or target us so that they could get our Bitcoin.

I have a crypto shirt but it is not Bitcoin , Instead I have a Litecoin Shirt that has been given by
someone I meet in a group back then and we becomes close as she sent me the shirt.

I know Litecoin is not as popular as bitcoin but I am wearing it in shopping malls yet i have got no
problem for years as I don't know once i wear Bitcoin maybe there comes some threat .

It seems very paranoid to be worried that you will be attacked for wearing a t-shirt. That is just not a concern for most people. There might be a few isolated instances where somebody was attacked because people knew they held bitcoin but I only hear those stories maybe once a year, if at all. You are more likely to be a target for criminals if you are wearing a nice watch or drive an expensive car and even then it's also extremely unlikely.

Well, it would be a good idea if you are into places like conventions crypto crypto-related seminars, and meetings as people are aware of Bitcoin's existence and wouldn't question if you own it cause anyone could be a holder or just promoting BTC using the merchandise. If you were in public people would see you wearing Bitcoin as they would assume that would be worth a lot so they could do illegal things such as crime, worse is they can identify your identity, and would do blackmailings or stalking. Just imagine the worst case scenario that might happen cause people are actually that unpredictable that's why it's better to ensure your safety and security.
That's the ideal scenario but in my opinion but we have to be realistic as I am sure that this is probably an everyday wear for OP so I think he either has to relinquish the idea of wearing it for daily stuff if he really fears for his safety or just wear it and try to make himself not the target in the eyes of these criminals that OP is fearing. With the blackmailing and stalking, that's probably the worst case scenario but I don't think that someone would waste their time doing that to just about anyone just because they wear a bitcoin clothing, if that's what's supposed to happen to OP, he can easily just file some restraining order for stalking and criminal charges against blackmailing. @blckhawk actually raised a good point about the worry that OP is having about himself wearing that clothing especially the high crime rate part.

You have to understand that not all bad or criminally minded people knows about bitcoin since they have only worked stealing or sticking up people that have fiat in them so I do not think that you are going to be in any danger wearing that, you are not flaunting your wealth in any way just because you are wearing a bitcoin themed tshirt and if you are really that worried about your well-being then your problem is you are probably living in an area that has a really high crime rate so maybe it is not your outfit that is attracting this type of stuff so go on and where what you want, you are spreading the gospel of bitcoin and you are comfortable with what you are wearing.

I have that same shirt and I wear it when I'm going outside or to the mall and some people I think they're looking at me and they're wondering why I have this shirt design, My shirt is personalized and you can't buy it if you're looking it to some online shops, I bet those people are also thinking if I am into bitcoin investment and crypto which is feels good to me because here in our country, if they know that you have an investment or some holdings in bitcoin, they think you are rich and very intelligent person because not all people are capable to venture the crypto world. Though, it has a negative sides because you already expose what you have but then, even if I wear some shirts like that, doesn't mean I have bitcoin holding, What if I'm a fan only. lol

I think this is a bit exaggerated statement, but it cost you nothing if you think for your own safety then I guess keeping it secret is perfectly fine.
What I was thinking is that, wearing expensive jewelries is far more susceptible to street criminals than simply wearing a bitcoin tees. I personally saw several people wearing bitcoin logo from tees, pants, car stickers, and even tattoos and I don't think they are having problem with it. Fortunately, I live in a small city where crime rates were not to high compared to the big cities in my country, but honestly I have not heard of a crime regarding someone was killed as stealing bitcoin being the primary motive.
I wore a bitcoin logo several times already when I visited big cities here and in some tourist destinations where there are a lot of foreigners, but none even once was I asked about it.

Not a good idea for me because you are just removing your privacy for having Bitcoin holdings and you might be target by scammer since they already have an idea that you are a holder.
(....)
This is just a downside for me, it is more likely you are exposing your own self that you are a Bitcoin hodler, and some criminals can target you.
But the good side here is you are advertising Bitcoin for free, and when someone sees your t-shirt some could become curious and they will start to research it or best way to hold some also.
I don't understand why people always think that when we wear clothes with the bitcoin logo, we will become a target for criminals? So what if we wear clothes with gold or diamond logos printed on them? Do they think we have a lot of gold and diamonds?

What's more, if we all always hide and don't reveal to the world or promote people about bitcoin. So how can we always expect it to become more popular and become a currency when we never want to use it publicly? Isn't that a contradiction?, we all want privacy and we want bitcoin to be popular and widely used?

Because you don’t understand the crime rate difference on each country especially in ours.  Bitcoin is new here and known for quick reach scheme by normal people. Come to my country and try to do that in the public to understand what we are talking about.

Probably you leave from the country which crypto is just a norm but try doing that on 3rd world country like us with high poverty rate. You will instantly get robbed by wearing valuable items such as gold when you walk down the street.

Wearing gold or showing off expensive items is completely different from wearing a shirt with the bitcoin logo or gold logo printed on it. As some people have said, wearing a shirt with a gold or bitcoin logo does not mean they have a lot of bitcoin or a lot of gold. Perhaps, your thinking was right as you are gaining attention from the public and yes, it makes sense for the bad guys but on the other side, this will also build confidence in the others who are also a Bitcoin holder in your place. It is a sort of spreading information but still, the best option is to remain silent from the people around just to be safe.
Because people assume that once you hold Bitcoin, you are already rich --perhaps not all. Therefore, to prevent such a scenario, we don't have to give them any idea who we are and what we are doing. We never know what is in their mind...

I would love to have a shirt with a Bitcoin logo to wear in public. It can attract people and and a little way for us to spread awareness about the existence of Bitcoin. However, for security I will not disclose that I have a Bitcoin holdings because we'll never know what others might think. So it's better to be safe than facing the consequences of flexing my Bitcoin to others.

Because if the person is interested, he/she will do a research to find more information.

As I see it, most people do not support this action of yours because it can endanger you by people with bad intentions. That means people also advise you not to share bitcoins with others because once you spread the word about bitcoins, everyone will know you own bitcoins.

In my opinion, you should adjust flexibly depending on the environmental conditions where you live. If there is an environment with good security and people are sociable, then popularizing bitcoin to everyone is necessary and advisable. If your area has a lot of crime and social evils, you shouldn't brag about everything.

It is clear that OP's actions are of course very dangerous for himself, and people will definitely see the clothes that OP is wearing and of course it will become a spectacle because people who wear Bitcoin clothes are very rare to find, indeed there could be areas where the crime rate is not high. found, but in my opinion there are always bad people, even in areas with minimal crime rates.

So in my opinion wearing clothes bitcoin or other crypto clothing is very risky and in my opinion it would be better if we avoided it and for me personally I prefer to be anonymous, because with anonymity we can be free from criminals.

but in my opinion, if in El Salvador it is possible to wear BTC clothes, of course there is no problem, the point is that the risk will not be too high.

That means you and many people here don't want bitcoin to become widely available. Since everyone wants privacy, no one is willing to use bitcoin in public, and no one is willing to share bitcoin with others to make it more popular. You always want people to share bitcoin with others, but at the same time you want privacy and bitcoin to be widely available. Is that selfish? Bitcoin is currency and for it to be currency, do we have to hide it?

I understand what you mean and I really appreciate your opinion, and indeed I also see that the purpose of wearing bitcoin clothes is for a good purpose, because that way the name bitcoin will be famous until finally the name bitcoin becomes more popular and indeed bitcoin has many benefits, of course for increasing economy.

and I'm just giving my input and opinion that the actions taken by op certainly have risks, and do you understand what I mean and are you sure that the actions taken by op do not contain risks?

and we are here of course just reminding you that the actions taken by the op are very risky, and of course in this case the decision is in the hands of each individual.

and in my opinion it would be better to spread bitcoin in a wise way, because I see bitcoin continues to grow and even without wearing bitcoin clothes bitcoin will continue to grow, because of the internet.

For me, it's not a problem to wear clothes with pictures of Bitcoin nowadays, where there are many online shops that sell t-shirts with pictures of cryptocurrency, even though they are pre-sale models in sales,
which is dangerous if you wear the t-shirt and shout saying I am an investor and have bitcoin, but if you are silent I don't think anyone will care about the logo

OP is quite good with his act of spreading about bitcoin. As most users have mentioned it can be a risky thing for him, but what he had done is really appreciable. The people who hadn't got any idea about bitcoin will never note it, whereas people who had heard about it and doesn't know much about it tends to know. It is very common to see dollar signs on T-shirts and those doesn't cause to be a risk for the people wearing it. Same as that scenario will change someday, and it is not risky as most people had mentioned.

To be honest, I've thought about doing something like this, wanting to buy and wear a t-shirt with Bitcoin on it. as well as presenting or introducing various people in public places about Bitcoin. but now that I think about it, that means I would be risking my privacy and maybe this won't be good in the future. so if we want to introduce Bitcoin, it would be better if it was done more wisely. Even though the aim is to let more people know, we also need to pay attention to the security of ourselves and our assets, while still implementing better privacy.

This is not a good way of spreading information about bitcoin because we don't know that the individuals who are asking about bitcoin are loyal with or not. Actually sharing your success with others means that you are revealing yourself to them to put your lives in danger. We can also share bitcoin knowledge online but wearing cloths of bitcoin will not give you any profit instead making your life threaten by hackers and haters.

Share your ideas about bitcoin with relatives is good idea to spread information among them but don't show them that you are also a bitcoin holders and hide all your success from others to an extent to which you can. One cannot bear the profitability of others so why we share profit with others to make our investment more risky and insecure.
However, I don’t think it is a bad way. The same way you can wear a branded tshirt just to help sell the brand, it’s the same case for what OP did. I totally understand your concerns which made you write this (I have similar concerns, and already wrote my opinion). But then, he is doing good to Bitcoin anyways. So let’s not hit him with the “not a good way”, I think constructively criticizing or giving your opinion still works so the op doesn’t entirely feel bad or think he made a mistake considering to promote Bitcoin in the first place.

You have a cool Shirt mate, have you the one designed that? or just a purchase from store or some bitcoin loving designer because I really love white shirt with simple print on it  so maybe now I have Idea what kind of shirt i am going to send to the clothing shop(Is it OK if i copy your design?)

I have seen some design Online but most have big Logos of Bitcoin that for me is exaggerating , am not a fan of those type of shirt  and also I wanted to have it as Hood so there is 2 version that I am planning but with different design of course.

Before, I thought about putting Bitcoin and crypto marks in my house but I didn't because maintaining my privacy, especially about bitcoin is better. The same thing happened to my earlier plans of having shirts and caps with bitcoin markings. So far I only have a tiny bitcoin logo on my phone and laptop.
Seriously ? you have the same as mine? yeah Infront of my Computer there is a Bitcoin Logo and yes in back of my Mobile phone there is a Big Bitcoin Logo that can be noticed because of its color gold  Grin

Maybe in modern and open countries, this is not a problem. But lately, in my country, our government has been trying to emulate what the US is doing including Binance. Tax analysis computations are still in process. Living in a very corrupt country, I prefer to just stay private.
In my Provincial visit last year(somewhere in our Summer capital) have seen a couple(Husband and Wife) wearing Ethereum Shirt though this is not a Bitcoin but at least they are proud wearing cryptocurrency that I believe almost have same approach as Ethereum is the highest ranking altcoin.
Wow, I have the same shirt as well. But I already cut the sleeves, I gain weight that's why I remove the sleeves and to look like Sando. I bought mine way back 2017 and now I often wear this these days, because every time I wear this. Some people ask me about Bitcoin, they ask if Bitcoin is real and how will you earn from this, and etc. I had 3 shirt with the print of BTC and but I misplaced the 2 and the one left is the 1st one I bought.
