Personally believe that Litecoin, because its low fees and fast transaction times, it is undervalued for a PoW coin.
However, one can't ignore the fact that Litecoin also lacks of the spotlight and speed of development other projects have, there are not big personalities chilling/promoting it, just small/medium sized businesses starting to accept it and not doing much noise about it.

I personally hope Litecoin will get the attention and value it deserves as the solid project it is supposed to be.

honestly, with the way the current market is moving, i will say that Litecoin is stagnant. price movement has been very poor and i think long term holders might start moving into another blockchain project. Ethereum classic with series of attack on the network was still able to recover and make huge price movement.  still don't understand why some token are undervalued.

I'm afraid that Litecoin won't be going anywhere. Demand is very low these days as people are focused on Ethereum and other big players on the market. These days, it's all about "De-Fi" and NFTs. If Litecoin wants to stay ahead of the game, it's going to need to innovate. Otherwise, it'll go down the drain faster than you could've ever imagined.

One thing for sure is that Litecoin is bound to adopt the "Mimblewimble" privacy technique soon. But that's not enough to make the cryptocurrency rise from the ground up. After all, most people don't care about their privacy. Adding smart contracts functionality to Litecoin would be the best way to bring people's attention into the project. If made a reality, Litecoin could take the crypto world by storm. One thing for sure is that Litecoin has faster speeds and lower costs than Bitcoin itself. A limited supply of only 84 million coins, makes Litecoin the second most scarce cryptocurrency in the world. It's really "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". If only people used it as a store of value like BTC, things would've been much different than what they are right now. At least, LTC is still being traded on the market. As long as there's a community backing it every step of the way, nothing else matters. Just my opinion Smiley

The major issue i believe litecoin have compared to the rest of the cryptocurrency market is its transaction speed, thing's a coin that is built on the same BTC Blockchain and boasts the same level of security however litecoin has a much lower transaction cost which i believe well do well especially for online payments.
Litecoin has a huge future and i believe  the problems of slow transaction speed can be tackled, then we have the closest cryptocurrency that can be used for daily everyday transactions

Litecoin price follows exactly the Bitcoin price chart. Therefore, I do not invest in Litecoin, but previously used this coin for faster payments.
Many coins now have fast transactions.
Litecoin will lose out to Ethereum rivals such as Polkadot, Solana and others.

As you've said before, there are many other coins with faster transaction confirmation times than Litecoin itself. Who'd want to use Litecoin when there's already a cryptocurrency called "Nano" with instant transactions and zero fees? Yet, what makes Litecoin different from other coins is the limited supply. 84 million coins that will ever exist, makes Litecoin the scarcest cryptocurrency in the world after Bitcoin. I guess that's why some people call Litecoin as "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". The Bitcoin "sibling" (LTC) has lower fees and faster transaction confirmation times, with a deflationary model built into the protocol. If we value cryptocurrency based on their scarcity instead of features, then Litecoin should've been worth more than $1k by now. But most people are into crypto because of the hype, so they usually follow smart contract platforms like Ethereum and Binance Chain with "De-Fi" and NFTs.

As long as all of the attention is on said cryptocurrencies, Litecoin won't be going anywhere. The Blockchain is healthy and still going strong after all these years. As long as Litecoin is actively traded on the market, nothing else matters. Just my opinion Smiley

Litecoin should be in the top-5 CMC. It's crazy if you see BNB, ADA, XRP, DOGE, etc. way above LTC. The problem with LTC is that too many coins with similar function, for example BCH, BSV, and other BTC forks.

Exactly. There are so many coins that do practically the same thing as Litecoin. Who'd want invest into LTC when there are other projects that are truly innovative? If Litecoin wants to stay ahead of the game, it's going to need to adopt new and attractive features. Otherwise, it'll be left behind like the rest of the old coins on the market.

What's saving Litecoin from going any lower right now is the limited supply of 84 million coins. Other cryptocurrencies have a bigger supply, so this is a huge win for the "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". How far will LTC go, is beyond me. As long as there's a community backing the project, there should be nothing to worry about. I'd be surprised if Litecoin remains alive and actively traded on the market decades from now. It might not reach higher prices, but it would still be relevant in the crypto/Blockchain space. Only time will tell us what would be of Litecoin's prominence in the mainstream world. Just my opinion Smiley

Well, litecoin sure is a great coin and has a useful function. The problem about this coin though is that unlike bitcoin or other popular coins litecoin doesn't have that much potential in giving huge returns as fast. Not unless you invest huge amounts. And I doubt most people have such luxury of investing lots of $$ in just a single coin. Best approach for this coin would be buying bit by bit and going long term like a year or more. Then again, anything is possible in this industry. So we'll just have to wait and see. Who knows right?

It’s a normal thing to see some trash coins trend. People tend to hype some new coins that come into the market as a way to get it pumped. And after the price might have pumped, they will leave the market and let it crash. That all these coins are trending doesn’t mean Litecoin has been forgetting.

Litecoin still remains one of the biggest coins in the market and also one of the best choice for investors.
There are lots of people who are always investing their money steady in it. If you check the price you will see that it is one of the coins that reached a high price this year, although the increase might be much as expected, but it still did great.

The "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold" has been out of the spotlight for quite time. I'm surprised this is happening with LTC since worthless coins like Dogecoin and SHIBA are getting all of the attention in the mainstream world. Unlike the aforementioned coins, Litecoin with only 84 million coins that will ever exist. One thing for sure is that Litecoin is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin. If DOGE went all the way from being worth nothing all the way to nearly $1 per coin, then Litecoin can do much more than that.
But Litecoin had already a  Good run since alast year even before the bullrun happens , i remember that since september of 2020 Litecoin climbs hundreds of percent easiy together with Ripple before the case was filed in US court.

Last time I've checked, LTC developers announced the "Mimblewimble" privacy technique. I don't know if it's already been implemented since I haven't been catching up with the project's progress. Adding new features to a Blockchain should make the underlying cryptocurrency soar all the way to the moon. Yet, nothing is happening as LTC remains stagnant in price.
I have been waiting for the release also yet no confirmation till now.

Am I missing something here? What do you think may be the cause of Litecoin's stagnation? Will it have a future? Do you think it is worth buying and holding for the long term just like Bitcoin? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
Maybe the community support mate? and they are still afraid of what will happen soon because of the issue comes last time when Selling of Litecoin happens from the creator.

Litecoin will struggle to increase in value because it has more competition against speed coins with low transaction fees and fast transaction times. Coins such as Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dash, Nano, Digibyte, Ethereum, Cardano and Tron. There are many more, these are the main ones.

I used Litecoin to transfer funds between exchanges and wallets. Litecoin has very cheap fees and transaction speed is faster than bitcoin. Then I began to use TRON, because transactions are instant and the commission is very very small.
The future of cryptocurrency is smart contracts and instant transactions. If Litecoin Developers do nothing in this direction, they will lose users.
Yes mate you are absolutely right because when all transactions fees very much high then I used litecoin as my transaction because it's transactions fees very low compared to others plafrorms.

this has happened to be my worst investment of all time. every time i trade Litecoin after observing the TAs and FA, it always goes side ways. i found it difficult to understand why. litcoin and EOS has always create more loose for me than any other token that i have traded. i believe that i will benefit from it sooner or later. hoping to get something when the market comes back.

Interesting discussion/points that you raise here.  I guess I am a bit biased as I Charlie Lee and chat with him quite often, but I expect Litecoin to be around for some time.  First off I like how Charlie releases that it's never going to "beat out" bitcoin, hence why he always calls it Bitcoin Silver.  I do like the quicker/cheaper aspect of it of course.  The one thing I question and will probably ask Charlie this, but why are they moving to a Proof of Stake blockchain?  That is the one downfall that bothers me at this time.

Otherwise it's one of the best altcoin options out there due to having such a large market-cap and a well known brand.
You are one of the lucky ones, it is very rare that we get to chat with anyone at the top at these days, it is a shame to not keep in contact with them. I have chat once with theymos before in my life waaay back in the day and it was about the future of bitcointalk and what he was intending to do, and I have talked with vitalik once and eth wasn't even a thing back then, it was all about bitcoin and how the adoption could be increased to get bitcoin accepted in other places.

What I realized about these people, people who are at the top of the crypto fame list, is the fact that they do not have much time, which means they have to act in a rush and that usually means they have to change their minds about what they want to do, which means Charlie could had amazing ideas for litecoin back in the day when you chat him, but that doesn't mean that he still has the same feelings about it, publicly or not.

Exactly. Back in the day, Litecoin was a better alternative to the Bitcoin blockchain thanks to its fast transaction confirmation times and low fees. But now that we have superior projects with greater transaction capacity, there may be no need for Litecoin at all.
XRP is quite old, but at the time there is no POW alternative, now we have BCH.

People get carried away a lot by fanaticism...

DOGECOIN has nothing of INNOVATION, but it reached the moon for being considered the best meme coin.

LTC is much better but no one can see it except us experts.

There are many forgotten LTC like Peercoin, PRIMECOIN etc etc ...

Yeah, i think it has a potential and worth holding. It has really low fees and fast and safe transactions. It's one of the first crypto and it may have really good rise in the future.
The main feature of Litecoin is that it is an old and reliable coin for investment. At first, Litecoin was a fork of Bitcoin, to improve the blockchain.

Litecoin has a huge potential for growth, as investors choose old and reliable coins to invest in. Investors will choose reliable projects to invest in, and in any case, Litecoin will be included in their list.

Agreed with your thought on transaction speed  but not least important is  their ability to be fully untraceable. Recent studies show that privacy is one of the major concern for those people who use crypto intensively in their life.   Mimblewimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) feature which will raise the degree of confidentiality  for LTC transactions is round the corner.

Privacy is good for most market participants, but in the case of Litecoin, if MimbleWimble is launched on the main network, it can lead to delisting from exchanges, as was the case with Monero, Dash, Zcash and other anonymous cryptocurrencies. Perhaps this is the reason why Litecoin developers are hesitant to launch this update on the main network.

Wow, never thought of the privacy matter at this angle. Do you think they will  proceed with  implementation of MimbleWimble into litecoin or  postpone it forever? I think they need to negotiate  with exchanges regarding the fate of  LTC with  MWEB feature and insist on not delisting it otherwise  MimbleWimble  is not worth the possible trouble.

IMO the only advantage LTC had at the time, was being faster than BTC and easier to mine. But lately, there's 1000's of coins or tokens who fill that exact role, even better than LTC.
So that's, in my guess, why no1's paying real close attention to it anymore

Exactly. Back in the day, Litecoin was a better alternative to the Bitcoin blockchain thanks to its fast transaction confirmation times and low fees. But now that we have superior projects with greater transaction capacity, there may be no need for Litecoin at all. The project better innovate or it'll be left behind in the dust. Mimblewimble is good but not enough to put Litecoin back on track. Maybe adding smart contract features to the LTC blockchain will do the trick?

Anyhow, it's a good thing Litecoin's supply is finite. With only 84 million coins that will ever be mined, Litecoin would turn into the scarcest cryptocurrency in the world after Bitcoin. I guess that's why some people call it "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". Price per coin doesn't matter as long as it remains actively traded across exchanges. It seems to me that Litecoin will last a lifetime thanks to the community backing it every step of the way. Just my thoughts Grin
