I think hold a coin of which the value can be calculated is a good idea. For example, the coin with dividends.

I'm curious, I know there are a lot of traders on this forum.

But

1. How many of you folks are investing in and holding altcoins?

and

2. Which ones are they?
Yes , no doubt that many number of people are in this forum and are making bulk profit without big loss .
Here I myself a successful trader here .
Here I would like to suggest you some tips that don't go in the rumors until you get the official news or announcement  from the official source .
Here I myself is making own descion to make buy and sell of coin . Here I would not like to say that which coin I holds but here I would like to share my experience .
I made much analysis about 1 month and found that many coins which are fluctuating in a particular rate of price range , so making investment in them and then making easily 30% easily profit  ( but sometimes we need to have lots of patience during the trading )

i think OMG has a bright future once Plasma goes live
I am not a fan of OMG. I think that out of all the coins that are being traded on an exchange, the only profitable coin that has people behind it the most is Bitcoin.

sure, Bitcoin has the biggest network and the most people behind it.
But i think there are some other projects that are good as well..

It depends on the coin, one thing you should know is the roadmap who is supporting the coins
marketcap, how does everyone reacts on the coin,
what exchange they are in, and who is behind the coin, most of the time this
are the factors they look at.

I'm looking into buying some OMG to hodl too. I think it will be amongst top coins in the future. The only reason I don't hold it yet is It was overhyped and too expensive to buy. But now it's getting close to a good entry price. I believe it might drop a little more and then I'll buy it.

For now I have iota, doge, ripple, dgb, and I have couple others but some little amounts. I hold this coins for now, in past months this altcoin prices are steady, they have little fluctuations but nothing big is happening for now. I think this coins are good cause of active communities, people talk a lot about them, they have big market caps, and many people agree that this coins will have future. I plan to buy more of this altcoins, and some new one, and I will hold them couple years before selling that is sure. For good things we need to have patience and wait them to come.

Well there’s a lot of projects out there. The only one worth holding imo is xvc because the of technology. HD wallet, instant transactions, adaptive block size, chainblender (anon) etc. Vcash was designed to compete with VISA, and other payment systems. Vibe does a great job explaining the features: https://youtu.be/gPne3KRAsZo more info at vcash.info
