Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
IMO the biggest scam and also the hardest to contest is the KYC fraud, closely followed and related to place of origin fraud. So the place of origin fraud is where for some reason you log in from a different IP. Many casinos don't allow you to use VPN, but imagine that you're on your phone and cross the border during holidays and you log in from nearby country. Sometimes that country is either on the banned list of that casino, or they will simply say you used VPN to connect, while you were simply logging in from another location. I've seen situations where people were banned and they claimed they went to parents for holidays and played from their house and a week later came back home and logged from their normal IP.
KYC fraud is where the casino demands KYC before a withdrawal and intentionally delays it to stop you from withdrawing for as long as they can.

making a test withdrawal would be recommendable before depositing big.

Intelligent scam casinos will allow you to withdraw small amounts but when you deposit big (because you gain trust by withdrawing small amounts), they will not allow you to withdraw and make excuses not to withdraw. So do not remain in this that since they allow small deposits. they will let you withdraw any amount.

The only way to avoid this situation is to play only at the already established trusted casinos. There you do not have to take the tension of your deposits and withdrawal because those trusted ones will never held your amount. As their business is very expanded, they do not need anyone's few hundred or thousands of dollars, they are already getting enough profit by running a legit casino.

Anything, but usually the casino didn't give a clear excuses, they will say the account is under investigation either by casino or third party gambling provider.

When we receive that kind of reply, we know what’s coming next, LOL. They don’t directly inform us of the real situation because they have a plan to make it look legitimate, but in reality, they are just abusing their power as operators. And they know we can’t do anything about it because before they take action, they make sure they can lean on their rules to help them win any argument. If these scammers were kind enough, they might forfeit our winnings and return our deposits, but some are even worse—they’ll take everything.

I know it sounds strange, but not always ToS has all the necessary information. Some years ago I have won in competition and received several freebets (some twitter competition). Some of them I have lost, some one, but when I have decided to withdraw, my withdrawal was pending for days. The reason for pending was wagering requirement, which was not stated in ToS and competition rules. I have found it only from a chat with support. The story ended with me loosing funds, because I have failed at wagering x5 my freebets (I had to wager x5 all 3 freebets of 1mbtc).
These rules and requirement of new competitions can't be found in TOS including in bonus terms. Either it's explained on the Twitter or the casino will state it on the casino. It's really strange that the casino didn't state it while you claim the free bets.

Are there any sneaky tricks casino's use to not pay you out when if your not scamming?
What options do you have when they won't?
Thanks in advance.
I don't really buy any of these stories where people accuse trusted casinos for not paying for a bogus reason. It's always some ToS violation because no one seems to read the ToS, or "fixed game2 if they lost money. Fact is that there are ton of legit reasons people can lose their accounts for, there's just no reason to cancel accounts when they feel like it. It would be just bad business as trust and good customer service is something worth more than anything to these casinos.

And if you choose a shady casino, then there's really no matter what the reason is as it can be anything and they don't feel the need to explain themselves. And it's not like that would matter what they say, as there would be no point of arguing or proving your case to them.

If there has been an accusation for older casino, those usually get solved, but it's not like those people who threw accusations would have motivation to come back online and confirm that everything has been fixed. So there always will be few of them around.

Yes, verify the problem with the service if it does not provide an explanation directly, if they still do not provide an explanation then make a bad review of the casino that does not pay.

This doesn’t really answers OP’s question as he is not asking about how to identify a fraudulent casino but he is interested to know the excuses they give to justify their scams.

Besides, scammers already know about this tactic. So, they will let you withdraw small amounts to gain your trust. Troubles usually arise when large amounts of money are involved.
Indeed, the amount of money is decisive in problems like this, the bigger the money you want to withdraw usually the more complicated it is, and fraudulent casinos will deliberately make it difficult for you to withdraw money.
Small money will only be bait.

Lower the chances of letting this happen to you mate, and that's by

1. Using only highly reputable online casinos, stay away from casinos that are not available through this forum.
2. Go through the online casinos ToS (Terms of Services) before doing anything else.
3. If possible to pass KYC verifications before you start using the casino then do it, though some won't make it available until you win big.

I would stay away from using VPN services, things will get more complicated when you are asked to drop your information like national ID card and your location isn't the same as your information says, you will just make things a lot harder for yourself.

Never have experienced that kind of delay from these casinos. But I wouldn't say that they intend to scam me if ever I'll have some delay because I only gamble in known casinos and I don't test out my luck with the newly launched casinos or those that are starting out their business.

What options do you have when they won't?
Thanks in advance.
What option you mean? if ever they won't pay me out? If it's an amount that I can afford to lose then I'll just let it go because I don't want to spend my time in countless arguments against their support if I've already did my best in disputing it. But if it's a large sum, I won't stop them until I get it when I know that I am in the right and never had broke any rules.

It’s a dumb idea, Even scammer casino allows player to withdraw small amount. They just use the scam card when players manage to win jackpot which is very rare to happened that’s why scammer casino can still get new customers since they do payout.

I think the simple answer to this problem is just play on reputable casino like Duelbits. A legit winnings will always processed quickly. Only those user that involves cheating and abuse suffer an investigation and possible confiscation of their winnings.
You have spoken well, and based on my own personal experiences, I very much agree with you, a friend of mine had once come across this new casino that was good looking, had very good varieties of games and comes with a very attractive sign-up bonus, he joined the casino, benefited from the bonus, and started playing on the casino by first depositing small amounts of money, they allows him to withdraw on countless occasions, he deposited and withdrawed several times without any issues, and because of this, he built a good trust on the casino and even proceeded to inviting all his gambling friends to the casino including myself.

After about 4 months of playing on the casino without any issues, he one day decided to make a deposit of $2500 to the casino, but as soon as the transaction was confirmed on his casino account, he was blocked access to his account, when he tried to chat customer support, he was immediately blocked too, he went to the casino's telegram group and immediately he posted his complaint, it was deleted and himself kicked out and blocked from joining the group again, this was when it dawned on him that he's been scammed, thank goodness that at this time, I havent even signed up on the said casino let alone playing there.
It turned out the scammers first made him trust the casino, and patiently waited for him to make a big deposit before they carry out their true intentions.

So, the safest way to be safe with casino is to only choose those that have proven their trustworthiness in a good test of time.

Mostly i was scammed by casino in two ways. Lots of KYC requirements with long expectation and "we have suspicions of a fixed match". It is enough for any casino. With fixed matches it is funny enough. One casino pay, the other one freeze money for 24 hours, the another one says it was fixed match and return the bet. Several gamblers said that they were banned for such bets. And casino mustn`t prove anything due to ToS.

You must be playing at untrusted casinos which are not reputed because if the casino is reputed they will never will hold your funds and will always release them and let you withdraw if you win the bet or any gambling game.

For the casino's who are not conserved about the reputations only they will do this tactics of not approving the KYC only to stop people from withdrawing or delay the withdrawal and all these stuff which will annoy the gamblers and they will not come back to such casino sites if they experience these problems.
Nope. It were both cryptocurrency and fiat casinos. The main part of them are well-known, several of them has ANN threads here. Even after KYC they returned me my money and made bet limit about $1-$5. It is standard situation for online casino when some gambler wins too often. Nobody cares about their face when on the other side common unknown gambler.

Casinos will always point to violations of their terms of service, and the worst is when they change their terms of service without informing their players, like when they first created their terms of service and then changed their terms after a few months without notifying them.

This is one instance where they intentionally try to scam their players. This is a sneaky trick that players should be aware of so they will not caught violating their terms.

If you think you are playing clean and the casino does not want to pay out, creating a complaint on forums like Bitcointalk can help your case. Casinoguru and similar review platforms are also good options. The goal is to make it known to the casino that you want them to address your concerns.

Well, I'm crypto, "not your Keys, not your crypto" is a general rule that I believe applies to other areas of our financial activities as well, like when your money is already there on your account on a centralized casino, you as a gambler have lost custody to the money, you are at the mercy of the casino to pay you your money whenever and immediately you ask to be paid.

But just incase the casino comes up with an excuse as to why they cant pay your money, a reason must be stated which usually differs for different situations, I can't begin to mention some possible reasons here, but it's up to you as the gambler to evaluate the reason that the casino gave as to why they can't process your withdrawal request, tell yourself if they (the casino) are telling the truth or not, them telling a truth or lie will and should determine your next line of action, either to create a scam accusation against the casino on a forum where the casino have a large user base, or try to resolve the issue with them calmly and amicably.

The casinos will use "delay" tactics, when they operate a small operation to pay out large wins, because most of them does not have a good cashflow in the beginning.

They will put "restrictions" on large withdrawals and they will use the excuse that large withdrawals must be validated, before it can be paid out.  Roll Eyes  (Some casinos need time to dip into their long-term wallets in cold storage to pay out large wins and that takes time)

This provide them with enough time to collect more profits and to enable them to pay out the winnings. It is actually only the large casinos with a lot of cash reserves, that will allow immediate withdrawals.  Tongue

This seems to be the same as what my friend experienced, where he got a small win and could easily withdraw the win without any problems, and indeed he himself had met the requirements such as fulfilling the KYC submitted by the casino. But when he got a big win and withdrew it he found a problem with his win that the casino had not approved or paid, waiting for a while losing patience he finally decided to communicate with the casino staff and for no apparent reason the staff said "your account has been frozen" this is annoying, but the funny thing is my friend tried to talk by saying that the win should be shared with him and the result that happened was that his account could be reopened but only half of the winnings were withdrawn. Cheesy
With this case I was a little surprised why he froze my friend's account but when he said to divide his win in half the casino staff agreed, this was a little strange and annoying until my friend no longer visited the casino.

I agree, also because according to many ToS casinos KYC is not triggered up to a certain limit, so it is normal that they don't look at your account if you make a small withdrawal but they do check it when you want to withdraw big.

This can be used by scammers as well as legitimate casinos that have a lot of customers and only check large transactions.

The most common excuse for banning a user’s account and seizing his funds is multiaccounting. The reason why shady casinos use this excuse most of the times is the fact that there is nothing the user can do to refute it. It will be, basically, your word against theirs (ofc, unless you tak your case to a court or to a mediation service).
Anyways, I don’t think knowing what excuse they will use really matters. If they want to scam then they can come up with any cause they want. They might even just ignore you and don’t provide any reason at all.
