There are several motives that drive me to gamble. Being bored is one of it, playing in gambling to eat my idle time without actually noticing as time pass by. Another one is to check my luck if I can be lucky on my session and win extra money. There is no need to deny that most of us hope to win during our gambling activity and it add more fun to the entertainment walking out after our gambling session with extra fund in our pocket.
Gambling should be for fun, but addiction is certain for some gamblers, the best is to just have control over it, just spend the amount of money you can afford to lose on gambling and you will enjoy it. Gambling is good when it is for fun, but bad when you are addicted by either spending too much time and money on it. I will advice you to try as much as possible to not be addicted.
It’s okay to be addicted in gambling as long as you still have the control on yourself and your own finances. Otherwise, if you gamble with uncontrolled addiction, then gambling will not be good and fun anymore. As for me, I do gamble more on for fun and the only way I can do that is just to bet a small amount on my most favorite game. Neither it’s a win or lose, it won’t matter at all as long as I only gamble an amount I can manage to lose. 
Gambling is just something fun that my two friends (Daouda & Koffi) make me do each time I am around them. For me alone, I am not too into sports, so when it comes to gambling, I even find it difficult to note some terms, let alone knowing how they work.

I can say that I’m addicted to gambling but not in the sense of putting myself into a lot of losses since I’m capable enough to play responsibly and manage well my finances. You're both on track with your points because to say the fact gamblers needs the two altogether in most cases, in the same manner we still have some that don't mind either of the two, but whenever we take pleasure out of gambling it becomes bored, ad for those that solely depend on gambling for a living will have no option left than to keep all attempts in place to ensure something profitable is coming out of it even though it's not upto expectations but they make some earnings for a living, that is their own joy and not winning becomes a threat to starvation for them.

For me, I tend to gamble for both reasons, first to enjoy the game I love playing, and second is the hope to make profits too. So that reasons have kept me gambling for long, and I must say I have also keep my tract on the line. But never I should say that I am addicted to gambling. I think that it is the basis for all of is who are gamblers. Yep we are in it for the fun but also for the money. And when you are not earning some it can still be fun. You just have to know how to lose. Gambling is one of those activities in which you need to balance your winnings with your losses. This means that you will need to accept the losses as something normal and detach yourself from the emotional harm it brings. Once you learn to control these emotional urges, you have learned how to gamble!

Isn't it always because of money that's why gamblers is playing? It's the only main reason that I can think of. Others says they are seeking some fun but for me that is just an excuse base on my personal experience. Gambling will only be fun if you're on winning side. Yep, apart from making you lose a lot of money, gambling can be extremmely time consuming and this will make you forget other more important things such as spending time with your family as well as time to rest.
