initially i use Ethereum for long term investment, but with the recent uptrend of this currency i began using it for trading purposes. As the value rapidly increased i was able to maximize the percentage of my profit when trading. It allows me to buy other altcoins in great volume before their value increases.
The coin itself was created in order to rotate in part of its platform in order to move the tokens that are created on the basis of this platform, I think that this is the most important purpose of this coin. Maybe I missed something.
I bought ethereum and invested it for long term investment because i believe that ethereum will continue to rise up just like the history of bitcoin. Among all other altcoins, etereum is the most promising coin i guess. And there are also some uses of etereum like in converting tokens which i earned as a reward for participating in a bounties.
I use it as a long term investment since ETH is still very promising. Unfortunately, BTC could not exceed 10K $ value and all the marketcap decreased again but sooner or later, the marketcap will rise again and ETH is one of those which will get you profit, in my view.

Ethereum I use for trading, because by spending a little capital I can get a decent result. Trading with eth process is very fast so in a short time we can do the velocity of money. I use eth as well as transfer between wallet.

Previously, I used ETH for investments, for payment of Commission, for trading. Now I use ETH only to pay the Commission and sometimes buy it at a cheap price and wait for the growth of +$200 - $300 For trading

I use ether to pay for some hosting service and games! Ether make it easier and instant to be able to keep connected to services that are very important to my busness. I also use ether to buy some promising ICO and pay my bills as well!
I just buy these coins in order to resell them after a while and earn. I do not invest anywhere I do not participate in any projects I'm just trying to make money on speculation
Personally, I invest my ETH in promising ICO, which are trying to bring something new to the blockchain and our daily lives, buying during the ICO or right after the stock market. Trading and long-term investments also take place, but for me they do not bring the necessary benefits.
I rather use my ETH for long-term investments because for me this is the most popular coin and I think it's really a functioning platform now. I am pretty sure with ETH to be able to survive in the future and stable growth of ETH, of course the increase in price makes me have a great opportunity for me to get the benefits from this investment.

I don't use my ethereum for trading but maybe I use ethereum to sending the tokens that I have in my mew wallet to the exchange site. I hold my ethereum as my long-term investment because if I use my ethereum for trading, I am afraid that I cannot make any profit so I think it's better for me to hold ethereum only. besides that, if I want to use for invest in ICO, I don't have time to make a research and find the ICO so I decide to hold my ethereum only.
