For me volume is a must. Nothign worse than trying to obtain a large position and the volume not be there. Aside form that it needs a large withdraw limit with no KYC requirements. If I want to hand over all my personal information i will take the traditional bank and the federally insured deposit.

Variety of coins it should posses very many altcoins which gives chance for traders to choose the best pest coins.

Its the coins that they list, often you have an eye on a particular coin but it is only listed on a certain exchange. That is why I ended up with accounts in several exchanges ranging from the low end low volume exchanges all the way up to binance.
Sometimes you don't have to look too far for a great trading platform 
I like high volume exchanges.. with less fees on trading. Also withdraw fees less. Such exchnages I like...
If the exchange has a large enough functionality, it will certainly achieve success. It should also be intuitive to all its users.
There are so many exchangers that are dummy so we all apply only legit exchangers to access our funds used in trading so we do not scam the point.
First thing that attracts me to every good exchange is their past life. I ask myself have that exchange been hacked before and how many times? I think everyone is really concern about security. Also are the prices of coins on that exchange valued? These are some questions that come to mind when I am joining any new exchange.

Go for the exchanges offering zero transfer charges
Pretty sure that there's no such thing or even if there is that exchange might be in a promotional phase or just have low liquidity because if they offer zero charges then there's something else they will make profit from like selling data of their client?Im not being paranoid but it's better to pay a little and be safe than risking ourselves while saving barely $1 a month.

in my opinion, the most critical fund security in the exchanger, besides being secure to exchange deposit and withdraw with FIAT, cheap exchange fees, as well as 24-hour support communication services

good exchanger selection is based on daily trading volume, if indeed the volume is large then it shows that the exchanger has a good reputation, besides the low withdrawal costs and direct exchange of FIAT currencies are also one of the factors that show that the exchanger is good to be used selection
24/7 customer support is very important. At the end of the day, cryptoexchanges are holding our assets. They need to be able to answer questions and resolve issues. If we want mass cryptocurrency adoption, exchanges need to operate in a way that's better than banks
Their reputation in terms of security, prompt response for support and low transaction fee does it for me.
What attract me the most is the liquidity and the coin selection, if a coin that i want to trade listed at an exchange and the volume there is quite good then it's set. I don't mind slightly higher fee if the liquidity is high because trading will become a lot easier, user friendly ui also contribute to some extent, i won't use something that's hard to use.
