Totally agree with you. The only way out when you have only a laptop for mining is to constantly monitor the release of new coins and try to mine as much as possible at the start, when the coin is not popular and is not worth anything yet.
I agree that the only thing you can earn on a laptop or home computer is on new little-known coins. And then the computer or laptop should be powerful enough. Although I think that this is a meaningless idea. Mining should be done on special equipment, not on home computers.
I'm not talking about millions of profits, mining on a laptop can give initial capital for further development. Buy a videocard with income, then one more, then more ... and so grow into a big owner of mining farms)

Buy $BGL before it's too late!
The only best case scenario I can think of mining with a laptop for a short period of time, is a completely new coin that will moon later on and become very populare. Then maybe it will be worth your while.

If you are really aiming to proceed using your laptop for mining, this options is the best taking the risk hoping that this new coins is like a gem that will
bring you success when things went according to how the dev projects the coins, mining while there's only few miners who's taking also some chances
to that specific coins, cross finger and hope for the best results.

Running it as masternode would be the best choice, mining wont going to do it.
You could hunt down coins like JSEcoin and Bittube to mine aside the node.
This was my thought also, and op mentioned staking as well although I rarely visit this section and don't know if discussion of staking is allowed here.  I've just recently gotten very interested in proof of stake coins and while running a masternode would be great, I don't think I could afford enough of any coin to do it.

The only best case scenario I can think of mining with a laptop for a short period of time, is a completely new coin that will moon later on and become very populare. Then maybe it will be worth your while.
After watching dozens of youtube vids about solo mining, I've come to the conclusion that what op is proposing would be a complete waste of time and electricity, and he would probably damage his computer in the process.  Betting on any given altcoin to moon is like buying a lottery ticket, which is usually reserved for those to whom basic mathematics does not come easily.

I think best mining option is to use mining rigs to mine
But even then, the payouts are incredibly small from pools from what I've seen and you would earn nothing by solo mining.  Plus you would still be gambling on the mined coin not dropping in value significantly, which it could very well do.

Even you have good specs of your laptops still better to mine using gpu don't risk your laptops to it as your laptop will only end to not functioning well and will never use it again.

At this time, Laptop cannot give profit from Mining or staking coins. You should use your Laptop to find another way, or to learn from experience!

CPU temperature is near the limit, but does not exceed the limit. This is when all cores are fully loaded. And on a laptop, mining on the GPU is useless. GPU installed in laptops are much weaker than conventional GPU. But the CPU in laptops can be used for mining. Therefore, it is necessary to choose coins that can be mined only on the CPU.
You understood me correctly, I was talking about mining using the processor. Although now there are external graphics card, saw this one friend, he it especially for games bought (says that at work he need a laptop, and with help of this device you can play at home if desired)

Mining difficulty will just eat your laptops capabilities, the competitions is too tough now with those mining farms and Asics devices, best to sell your laptops and buy rigs instead it will add chances to mine decent amount of coins and will serve it purpose, laptops won't bring anything just a dust amount which is not enough to covered your electricity bills.

Laptops have it's own purposes better to use it accordingly.

I think best mining option is to use mining rigs to mine, any other form of mining is almost next to nothing, except there are actually less difficult coins to mine with your pc which can be profitable and worth your time, otherwise better to join a good pool as advice above or engage in trading if you are good in trading, if neither of this, then buy and hodl what suits you.

It will not be the best answer, remember it just give you little penny that is not worth with your laptop. mine a new coin just like betting if do that coin have bright future or not and it looks very similar as gambling and when it worth nothing and you will be lost

it's better to mine using a GPU than a laptop CPU. mining using a laptop won't benefit because mining with a laptop CPU produces only a few coins, to get more coins it takes a very long time and will consume a lot of electricity.

Minning Btc or etherum with laptop can be stressful with just a little profit. I will advice you go into minning of altcoin with great potential.  Altcoin like Uplexa and electromurm are good token which is advisable for you to mine and make good profit.
Yes what mining with a laptop ?? If you do mining for fun to understand how it works - you can try. But if you want to make a living out of it, you need to worry about powerful equipment...although now in my opinion - not the best time for mining.

the specifications of your computer are fairly sufficient for mining cryptocurrency, I recommend using OS Linux that is much better to use and safe than OS Windows how to mine coins is very difficult and vulnerable to viruses
Exactly we need a good specification laptop or computer for mining. I personlly using OS Linux and the performance of this device is really good for mining.

Personally I wouldn't suggest using your laptop as it's a waste of energy and you will end up with little or nothing at the end of the month. But come to think of it does Mining really pays at its use to before

You can, but you will not get big profits.
Use pools in not very popular coins you can recoup your equipment. But again, I'd rather have bought something stationary that was made specifically for this.
And buy coin directly is much better rather than burning our laptops for nothing. I can say that it will not give any profit and that will destroy his laptop and it will decrease the performance of laptop itself.
Mine through any laptop or notebook is worthless
even if the laptop or notebook have a good spec, it's better not to do it. because its durability is lower than a computer, even though it imposes a time limit for mining, it will waste of time. Trading is much better even with small capital.

High specked laptops are expensive, at least the new once are. Profits mining on a laptop would be slim at best and you risk damaging your expensive laptops. I say it's not worth the risk.
