Hi,

I'd like to know what do you think is a good strategy when BTC price shoots up and you feel it's going to come down again.
- hold on to your Bitcoin?
- Sell it for USD hoping to buy it again cheaper?
- Sell it for other crypto (in this case which would you choose)?
I don't usually hold bitcoin when bitcoin shoots up i sold them and then waiting to decrease bitcoin atleast 100$ less sometimes i do short term trading where i can get approximately 20-30$ when i successfuly do it Smiley
but this time i am not going to sell my bitcon. previously when the price of bitcoin hit 1150 i even hold my bitcoin and was not ready to sell it and still i have the same strategy that i am not going to sell my bitcoin in any case until the rice of bitcoin reach to 2000 USD level. may be at this stage i tart thinking about selling my bitcoin., and i am hopeful that it will reach to this price in next few months.

economic instability may also be a problem in some countries to change their fiat in to bitcoin. but i think people also invest their assets in bitcoins because they know that bitcoin can give the a good profit, we can see that not only those countries whose economic conditions are not good are selling their but those countries where the economic condition are ok are also selling their
Yes, at most of the countries that have a bad economic conditions don’t use bitcoin, some of them don’t have access to the internet so how do you want them to use bitcoin, and I think that is mainly why bitcoin is still not going to replace fiat, and that is why people are still not investing as much into it.

Obviously sell it / convert it into USD.
Like if you would have kept a poll you would have seen more than 50% people voting for converting it into USD.
The reason behind it is that , when ever the price of Bitcoins will shoot up , most of the people will convert their Bitcoins into their currency,
leading to the fall of price of bitcoins .
So i would recommend you to convert them into your currency and then buy bitcoins with that amount and then use 10%  or 20% of that amount
to buy more bitcoins.
Continue this process and one day you will have a lot of bitcoins
and by bitcoins i mean a lot of money.
Thanks
Good strategy, I think sell bitcoin when the price shot up is the right decision, when all people fo panic selling the price of it will be down. So when we have more money we can get more bitcoin.

We will see over $1000 in a short time, and that's the right time for sell our bitcoin. I didn't hate panic selling, but I hate the fake news. Look back at early January.
From that time only a smaller down in the price occur and that often occur after speedy shoot up while now the price of bitcoin is increasing gradually and slowly so in this time it will not happen but the price of bitcoin will increase and increase up with the time and it is also sure that this increase will continue for the whole years so waiting for $1000 is not good but we have to wait for more higher price.
if you mean for long term investment then you need to invest a good amount of investment. because in short term investment we do trade for so many time investing little amount practicing buy at low and then sell at high price. but in long term investment we have to wait for a long time and only then we can secure good profit.

I will probably be the best decision that I have to sell bitcoin. Well, I guess that is the basis of trading. it makes us lucky, if we can sell it in a higher price. and, when prices go back down, we could buy a bitcoin with earlier results, but with the amount of bitcoin more.
yes if you are working as a trader then it will be your strategy to buy at low and to sell at high but if everyone will sell then it will be harmful for the price of bitcoin because if everyone will sell then the supply will increase and the value of bitcoin will decrease.
now people have become mature, they are now not coming in pressure. we have a good example in previous days, when the price reaches to 1150 bitcoin and after that people start selling. but we can see that most of the people are not going for panic selling, they are holding their bitcoin in any condition and so we can see that there is not big downfall for a long time.
I was thinking about this, and it seems that users are finally feeling more secure in saving money in the form of Bitcoin. I think the economic instability in some countries is so high that Bitcoin becomes one of the few safe havens to store value. And to answer the OP, I think the decision I would make would depend on how Bitcoin goes up in value. If it is a quick and unnatural price increase, there are greater chances that the price will fall next, and in such situations the best thing to do is to sell.

It has to depend in the market more than in your situation. If you think selling at a certain price is profitable double think about it because the market might have some room to grow and so you can maximize the value of the btc you're planning to sell. In the contrary, if you keep holding it because the profit you will make with that spike is not enough, just think of the market, just because you wouldn't make enough profits, doesn't mean the market is in huge profit or loss.

In the other hand, if you are holding alts and believe in the project, don't dump them, usually I make less profit selling btc at a higher price than buying alts when everyone dumps because then alts gain so much more when btc stabilizes.

Its all because of last year's halving and Christmas pump. Bitcoin price always volatile we do not able to speculate since we have btc chart blogs and threads. If you find any money issues go ahead to sell it out else keep in your wallet itself. It may move 1200$ also in near future.

This is just a very common, basic on trading on which you will sell high and buy low but its not easy as it sounds because you will really need patience in order to be profiting on this kind of way on trading since we all know thats bitcoins price doesnt move too much on longer ranges unless if theres a news or significant events which makes the price moves too fast.
i think different people have different strategy about bitcoin although all the investors are agree on one point to sell their bitcoins when the price goes up. but here different people have different opinion about the high level of bitcoin some says that it will be good to sell when the price cross 1000 $. while so people are waiting the highest price to reach and make a new record.
but i have a very clear strategy that i am not going to sell my bitcoin even the price of bitcoin cross its all time high price. because it is expecting that the price of bitcoin will even increase more and more, i have just decided to hold my bitcoin for next few months or may be for one more year. and am confident that after 1 year the price if bitcoin will more that our expectation.

The method you mentioned is a well-known method of trading when there is some measurable volatility in the price of the bitcoin. One can get even 1.5X or more returns in serious price fluctuations if he knows when to enter and when to exit. It’s like selling bitcoins when it is $1,000 and then purchasing again when it falls to $700 or $600 so ultimately the overall quantity bitcoins and the price of it increases significantly.

I prefer to sell when price is high and buy back when price fall after correction.
But sometimes I sell early and price goes up more but that is the part of bitcoin trading. One can never predict precisely how far price would go
yes that is part of trading. no one can be so much perfect in trading, for example in previous days when the price raised to 1150 USD, i still hold by bitcoin and was not ready to sell, although my friend request me to sell it as he already sold his own bitcoin at 1100 USD level. but i continued to hold because it was expected that the price of bitcoin will cross all time high price this time. but now the price is trading below 900 USD and i am still holding my bitcoin because i am still sure that the price of bitcoin will again raise again.

If the bitcoin shoots up?
Half of my coin will be sell off and the other half will be just in my wallet so in case of continues increase of value there are still coins to be sell.
This is a good decision as sometimes some people sell all of his coins when he see a price increased up in the market and after that when he see more increase in the price then he regret that act of selling in the start so if a person will sell some coins and will keep some coins then he will be satisfied as he will also earn from further increase.

i will sell all my btc if the price very high. and then wait until that price lower to buy again.
i agree with you and i think its the best way to trade of bitcoin there is a lot of people sell their bitcoin when bitcoin price go to higher value and then they wait for until decrease the price of bitcoin and when bitcoin price decrease then they buy more bitcoins in huge amount for hold.
