For me HODL has the same signification as Hold it means that even if the Price of Your tokens Goes Down You Will not Panic Sell them for à low Price. Instead You Will wait for the tokens Price to go up Before Selling, so basically holding is Waiting for the Price to go up. But i don.t from Where hodl was used for the First Time instead of Hold.
It means none other than hold. However, hodl means going against the predefined rules and being a rebel with the mentality and having a faith in this innovation. The very first time the term HODL appeared on the Bitcoin talk forum was in 2013 and came from a member named GameKyuubi under the thread “I AM HODLING”.Since then, this misspelled term became very popular in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency world. Whenever a person says in a conversation that he/she is hodling or suggests to hodl, it means that they believe their coin will be profitable one day, if not today.

I don't really know if HODL it is an abbreviation or just such a slang word. But what I know really it is that HODL has become a credo for many users and many of them have become rich because of crypto holding.
HOLD and HODL are actually the same, I do not know where HODL comes from in the world crypto, but definitely HOLD is one of the strategies to invest in crypto world, by buying altcoin and in the long run waiting for altcoin to rise

if I think the hold is holding a coin or anything in the long run when we trade or invest in conditions that are not good, such as the decline in our commodity prices and we also have to wait for the right time to sell at high prices

HODL is when you hold a bag no matter what the price is and sell only when you reach some time limit, probably long time like year, 5 years etc. Holding needs huge courage and patience as you might feel like selling when the price is high or even wants to move on to a different coin when the price keeps tanking. But if you are a true HODLer you will not be moved by anything and "Hold On To Dear Life"

its a Hold On Dear Life or HODL. for holding tokens and investments can create a massive financial of living in the future. so, if you hold a huge amount and keep holding til the peak reached. and i also heard about drunk trader, typing on keyboard from "Hold to Hodl"
That word came from over hype guy at this forum i guess. And everyone else start using that word to replace HOLD. kinda funny though.
actually yes!...hodl, is simply hold!..meaning when the price is low, hold!..do not sell, because in the end, you will lost!...not something but your investment!..be careful guys..
As I have heard there was one user who wrote his appeal to the community in agony to not to sell their assets and he just made the typo
