It's one of question which differs from person to person. How do you define richness?
However, depending on what someone is talking about, there are various characteristics that can be used to characterise wealth or richness. I believe the original poster intended to refer to financial wealth, however wealth can simply be defined as having anything in abundance, whether it be materially, monetarily, or in any other way. The definition of wealth varies from person to person because various people interpret it differently, but for me, being wealthy is having enough money to meet one's necessities and wants without actually worrying about how much money one has spent. A person is wealthy if they are comfortable, have peace of mind, are able to afford anything they want, have access to properties, money, and other exceptional things.

I always prefer to stick with those less materialistic ways of defining richness. I'm a hypocrite if I don't admit that I'm running after money in one way or another, but I'm still convinced that beyond material possessions, it should be the genuine feeling of comfort and satisfaction that count more.

-snip-

I know of individuals who have much more money that many others but who cannot seem to stay at ease because they've got so much expenses and so much to buy. It seems they're living a poorer life than those who don't have much beyond their simple yet decent living but who are very much satisfied and can sleep soundly seconds after lying down.

I couldn't agree more with you. To me richness in life has to do with freedom, both financial but also mental. If you have millions but you have been educated to need more no matter how much you have, you will always be a slave.

On the other hand, happiness has to do with material resources, because the lack of them leads to suffering and both concepts are exclusive. But once you get enough to live (the base of Maslow's pyramid), it has more to do with your values and beliefs.

To me, mental peace and having a happy and healthy family is a success. Spend quality time with your family because, at the end of the day, these will be the only memories which you will cherish. Be a supportive husband and a fun dad. Enjoy the time with your kids while you still can. You should be satisfied with whatever you are doing. Life is not a race or something; take your time and enjoy every passing moment. Live in the moment.

Money is not everything in life. If you consider success as having a lot of money and buying fancy outfits, cars and luxurious items, you are living in a fool's paradise.

Having family around me that shows how they love me , Having officemates that  also
shows How they are supportive in our field , having Social media group friends that always there to assist me in every queries
I have? and also having Investments in crypto and some in banks that enough to sustain my family for years are more than
enough for me to be called as richness.

While Others sees this that about asset and money they have, but remember that we
cannot bring our Money, gold and assets when we are dead, so better to be rich in everything that will make your happiness
worth a living than those you can only Hold while alive but will be gone when dead.

Simply that you don't stop doing anything you would like to do because of lack of money. Keep in mind that this is relative, because if you have aspirations like buying an island or a yacht and filling it with models to accompany you, it will cost you much more to feel rich than if you have more mundane aspirations. Things like there are a few days left until everyone gets paid and if you feel like buying clothes, filling up the tank and inviting your girlfriend to dinner can be part of that feeling of wealth.

Means one thing mate, that richness cannot be define depending on how one look on it
But this is a universal outlook , some can be simply rich while others needs to be luxurious and that is the fact.

Of course, a man who has $1 million is richer than one who only has $1,000, I admit that, but that's definitely not everything there is to it. A man who lives in a mansion, has a private jet, a yacht, and so on but whose mind is constantly occupied with thoughts of how to make more money because he badly needs to buy that resort in the Bahamas or that island in the Carribean, or that latest private jet in the market, and so on could be living a harder life than one who is living simply in the farm and who cannot anymore think of anything that he needs.

I know of individuals who have much more money that many others but who cannot seem to stay at ease because they've got so much expenses and so much to buy. Like People buy Bitcoin, see the price increase, and feel like they are getting rich quickly..

These are all true feelings and obsessions.

That's true, and I think it's very strange even.  Grin
Everyone will feel rich at different times, and there is no specific definition of what rich is, because in my opinion rich is an achievement that has been achieved and appreciated by oneself, that is the work of our brain when we feel happy.
each person will be different of course, if we measure it with money, then it will be endless.

And when you feel rich when the price of Bitcoin increases, maybe I also experience the same thing. lol

being rich simply means we are not burdened by debt and still have plenty of money life that we can use for many things we want, basically you just don't worry about something like financial crisis anymore.
you have plenty money that fulfill your basic needs and also you can afford some luxury lifestyle even a little bit, being consumtive a little bit won't make you broke, thats what i call rich.
though it might be relative for many people one would consider having hundred millions of dollars as rich.
the other might consider having 5 million dollars already rich, but really it depends on the place you're living in and also the price of goods and property relative to your place.
but i will have my own target of reaching multi million dollars in wealth, that i would consider well off.
Cash, cash, cash! I think it's wonderful. I must admit, I'm impressed by the clarity with which you express what having money means to you. That's the dream: living without debt, being free to do as you like in life, even treating yourself a bit without worrying about becoming bankrupt

You have now set your sights on the multi-million dollar range. Huge goals! Love it! But let's be clear: having a lot of money isn't the only indicator that you're wealthy. The worth of that money is at issue. $5 million in a tiny town and $5 million in New York are not the same thing. Location, location, location—that's everything

But here's my suggestion: don't only concentrate on the ultimate result. Have fun on the voyage. Make wise financial decisions, assemble a top-notch team, and maintain knowledge at all times. And keep in mind that, although money is nice, the true wealth is found in the experiences you acquire and the memories you forge. So go forth, follow your heart, and succeed! Think big, dream large, and live big is something you should always keep in mind

paper money is going away
Being wealthy isn't just about possessions; it contributes to more than 50% of my current happiness. I find great joy in having the means to relish my freedom. To me, "rich" is a state where I can freely choose what I want to eat today and travel anywhere without worrying about money. It's the liberty to explore new horizons and embrace boundless possibilities without limitations. That's my unique version of richness.

Have you ever heard of a big-shot CEO who can't savor shrimp or red meat on the advice of a doctor due to cholesterol issues? It's a paradoxical situation, even though they have ample wealth, they can't enjoy these simple pleasures. It feels remarkably confining, not being able to experience freedom when wealth is in hand.

As I mentioned, it takes money to attain that kind of freedom. And it doesn't mean I need billions of dollars; I'm afraid to accumulate that much wealth because I still crave challenges to make the world an exciting place.  Grin

It's one of question which differs from person to person. How do you define richness?

Wealth from my poerspective is those who are able to meet all the needs of themselves, their families, and help people who need help. In my opinion, wealth is not something that can only be enjoyed by oneself, but wealth must also provide benefits to the people around us who need it. In my opinion, if more people care about other people, life will be better and we can become useful people

I am sure that everyone has the dream of becoming a financially independent person, but achieving this is not easy, we need to struggle and work hard to gain wealth.

It's one of question which differs from person to person. How do you define richness?

Wealth is not a suitcase of money or gold Smiley
Wealth is:
- Knowledge that can be applied in real life
- A desire to live a better life and to take action to do so
- Having health, family, business
- To be as independent as possible from the situation
- To have good connections and acquaintances
- Have diversified assets
- To think and develop in accordance with the real world
- Do not stop at what has been achieved, set new "peaks" and try to achieve them

Most likely I missed something, but the above mentioned are very important for wealth, or rather high quality life, as these are two different concepts, and the second one (high quality life) is more important and significant.

In finacial terms which is the most common reference afaik , being financially rich usually means your financial status is simply above average and you can make money while sleeping without having to think about when your next pay cheque is coming in. It's safe to say those considered to be rich are those that own several businesses and have the elite status in a country or in their circles and can afford whatever tickles their fantasy.

My personal definition of richness in the economic sense is having money both liquid and assets to be able to fulfill at least 90% of your desires wants and needs we felt ever being worried about them. To be which furthermore is simply to think it and be able to do it without any financial restrictions. Nothing more than this.

Rich is an adjective. Someone can interpret rich with various views. In the economic sector, rich means someone has more than enough financial capabilities.

What I mean by your question is rich, lots of money. Because rich is an adjective, rich from my point of view is being able to be economically independent and able to help people in need.
This is included in the meaning of being rich and rich like that is what I want when I have a lot of money and lots of investment assets.

This definitely depends on individual perspective as you already point out. Generally speaking, when we hear rich, the first thing that comes to our mind is money. But it's interesting to note that money is not the only factor that determines whether someone is rich or not. There are many people who have a lot of money but still feel poor and there are others who have very little money but feel very wealthy.

In my own perspective being rich is all about satisfaction, peace of mind and contentment. When you are able to satisfy your needs without having to struggle much or seeking for someone's assistance is what I consider being rich. To me richness is more about being self-sufficient and not having to rely on others for your basic needs.

In terms of tangible assets, my view on being rich is being able to afford everything and anything they want from their food, house, cars, jewels, etc. But I also believe that being rich is wealthy is on a different level. Being wealth for me means that you own a lot, you're not 'richer' you are a lot richer of the rich person, idk if you will get that but that's how crazy rich a wealthy person is. While we dream of being rich someday, there are also some rich people who dream of becoming wealthy.

Every one of us has different views on these terms, I like how others are addressing this generally, not just monetarily. OP didn't mention it.

From my point of view, rich is feeling enough for everything without feeling lacking in anything personally and in life. Even though other people may see us as just normal, that won't be a problem because everyone never shows off all the wealth they have to the public or to anyone passing by on the street.

In fact, the meaning of "rich" for many people can be defined differently in the same way that people view "success". I believe very few, and perhaps almost no, people would want to live a life of poverty and misery. Everyone wants a rich, happy and prosperous life. And the real wealth is those who are good at being grateful, and feel content in living life without lacking anything.

Quote
So for me, being rich doesn't mean that someone has to have more wealth with luxurious items and quite a lot of vehicles, because having enough and not feeling lacking and having difficulties in life every day, I already consider someone like that to be rich.

Many people misunderstand wealth. If you have a lot of money, luxury cars, and a magnificent house are the benchmarks for being rich. In my opinion, in personal finance, wealth is a condition when the amount of assets is greater than debt, this is called net worth.
