So many theories flying around. He could be dead or alive, and maybe reading this thread and laughing himself to stupor. The creator of Bitcoin really did a good job of keeping his/her identity secret and untraceable. This is great humility, imagine no one even recognizes the proprietor of the lost popular cryptocurrency in the world!

Why is he still so important today? Satoshi, just as Satoshi, is not very important anymore. What is important are the technology he formulated.

Hypothetically speaking, what if he just randomly died one day, yet no one knew, and everyone thinks he's alive still?

He used to be the most active member on this forum, then he just stopped. Maybe he had a heart attack one morning, he could have slipped down a staircase and banged his head, some guy could have dropped a rock from an airplane and it crushed him underneath, who knows?

Maybe he was an 80 year old man that, as a last resort to life, made Bitcoin, then died due to old age?

That's just rumor. No one knows too much about Satoshi's life. Speculation, the theorized are all curious about Bitcoin. The more curious about Bitcoin, Bitcoin has confirmed its longevity in the electronics market.

Satoshi Nakamoto cannot die, he will live in every bitcoin that is exchanged every day.

When Bitcoin will die then we could say that Satoshi Nakamoto is died.

I don't know if the creator of bitcoin is dead but seem like bitcoin is going to dead already. Cry
Can we count this to 307 times as another claim that bitcoin is dead?

Somewhere I read an article where it was written that the USSR developed a system that resembled blockchain. I understand that corrupt officials were interested that this system didn't appear. All governments and banks are against such a system. So Satoshi Nakamoto can be considered a Robin Hood, who in the world has a system of bypassing the government. He's looking where it'll lead Now. I apologize for my English.

One of the most hilarious to make me laugh so hard, made my day. If Satoshi would have died, he'd be considered a soldier, a martyr who fought against those old traditional techniques we call as BANKS currently which used to be looting us since ages by snatching our freedom to Finance. Satoshis can't die, because they're in our hearts, they'll always live till the existence of Bitcoins and beyond.

Hypothetically speaking, what if he just randomly died one day, yet no one knew, and everyone thinks he's alive still?
It wouldn't matter.
More on this matter, i watched bitcoin documentary and there was much very wise speculation who he was in one big circle of computer guys and he actually did die.
It don't affect bitcoin in any matter at all.

That really sounds good. I hope we can trust this "big circle of computer guys". I think this position is also very reasonable. What is the idea of creating the "currency of the future" if it cannot outlive you? Except of course you wish to live forever. Last I checked, this is impossible. So, basically no need for the scare. At least paper money outlive its inventors also.

What if his head was frozen in a box somewhere?
We'll have to preserve it and place on a display. Pretty much that's what they did with Rasputin's penis.
If we wait long enough somebody will come up with a way to bring dead cells back to life. We might have a talking head of Satoshi, kept alive by advanced equipment. That would technically make him a cyborg, right?

What if Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn are dead? Know who they are? They invented a much more important protocol.

It does not matter if Satoshi is dead, only that the blockchain is alive and well.

I think he is dead since bitcoin became actively used on illegal activities, it is possible to track anyone, I believe that he was #1 on the list, but nobody can stop his creation... ))) so right now it just a beautiful story and doesn't matter )))

He is not even born yet. Remember the 21e8 hash? Remember he is a time traveler?
