Nothing will change anymore if he was dead or he already was. Bitcoin is already stablish. And we thank him because of his wonderful work. Like the one who invented something helpful, the only change is it will be develop but no negative  effect if the inventor wilk be dead.

Hypothetically speaking, what if he just randomly died one day, yet no one knew, and everyone thinks he's alive still?

He used to be the most active member on this forum, then he just stopped. Maybe he had a heart attack one morning, he could have slipped down a staircase and banged his head, some guy could have dropped a rock from an airplane and it crushed him underneath, who knows?

Maybe he was an 80 year old man that, as a last resort to life, made Bitcoin, then died due to old age?

1) Why he used to be an active member of this forum? Where did you get that information?
2) What the difference if he's dead? Nothing is changed. That's the point of decentralized system.

Even if he really died 4 years ago, bitcoin lives and thrives. Its cost is rising at an unprecedented pace, so I see no reason to worry.

There's a pretty convincing theory going around: Satoshi is a time-traveler who lived (lives? will live?) in a time where a Bitcoin-like system (possibly Bitcoin itself) is widespread. He "traveled" (is it actually "traveling" to "move" in time?) to a few years ago so he could own an exceptionally large number of bitcoins and sell a tiny amount in his current time. He alternately may have seen our time as being critical in mass surveillance and lack of freedom to transact, coming to our time to prevent utter domination by some type of oppressive whatever.

Unfortunately, I've forgotten too much of the plot to Discipline to know how similar they are. I know it has supernatural powers... chess... a handjob for drugs... .... Did he time-travel? The villain time-traveled, right?

Satoshi may also be an alien looking to observe what humans will do with this and how fast, to determine whether or not we're worth enslaving.

Haha. You're joking, right?

I've never heard this "theory" at all...and it sounds pretty ridiculous.

You're probably right, the existing theory that Satoshi is a human or group of humans that created bitcoin as the evolution of 20 years of cypherpunk talk and tries and fails is much less plausible than "Satoshi is a time traveler".

Good one!

I believe Satoshi was Hal Finney...and Hal Finney is dead, sadly. His illness got worse around the same time that Satoshi faded away from this forum and with contact with early developers. Hal was also the first person Satoshi interacted with to create node and conduct a transaction...that puts Hal at the center of all of this. Hal also once lived within miles of the Satoshi Nakamoto that was falsely "exposed" a few years back.

Whether he died or not will make no difference, the idea of Satoshi Nakamoto is in the mind and not in his fame, whether a person or an organization. His idea is for posterity.

I have read one conspiracy theory that Satoshi died in tsunami in 2011. I don't know, can it be true or not, be he is gone short time before this disaster.
Another possible thing - maybe he just left Bitcoin community after doing main things that he wanted to do and now watching everything from distance. Maybe he even have alt account on bitcointalk Cheesy
We can create hundreds of conspiracy theories with question "What happened to Satoshi", but no one knows the right answer.

He is either dead or here. Probably here. He could be ANY of you.

I wanted to remain discreet, but you got me. I'll have to create another fake account now.

For him, she or them does not want publicity. Just wanted to change things to better. If he could create such a masterpiece without anyone tracing him, I do not think we will ever find out who he is.

I like the idea that Satoshi Nakamoto is a time traveler, that is awesome. It really opens up worlds of what is possible. Maybe he's an alien?

I don't think that is even possible right now though, as we have yet to make any contact at all with any aliens at all.

BITCOINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Currency in the world.

For those that disagree, you know nothing about currency and Bitcoin's potential in the world.

I have come to know that Satoshi Nkamoto has been captured by NSA and they've been keeping him in Area 51 and forcing him to watch Miley Cyrus videos and listening to Britney Spears music in order to torture him. They apparently want to either get hold of all his wallets or force him to code a system that can take Bitcoin down.
