I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?

I haven't seen it also in TV because although Bitcoin is accepted in most countries, it is not yet legalized and controlled by the Government. I think that is one of the reason why Bitcoin is not publishing an advertisement thru Television. But, it is scattered on the streaming sites such as YouTube, and most of the people are using internet so that should increase the knowledge of people about Bitcoin and will make it popular in that manner.

Advertising Bitcoin on T.V would be pretty nice to see, I could see someone trying to surf the T.V channels and accidentally watching a Bitcoin commercial while the price of Bitcoin is at $100,000 or so. If bitcoin gets really famous then the price of Bitcoin and the amount of times it will be featured on T.V will start to get people a little bit mad because they knew he or she should’ve held their coins before the price went up.

You can't advertise something which most of the people will never truly understand or want to understand or need to understand, talk and make thousands movies about space exploration and going to mars, you think everyone go sign up to go to the mars?

Bitcoin is good, actually it's a 21st century's miracle but is not intended for everyone and it wasn't designed to be used by all people.

Many people are occupied and are busy as it is with their routine daily lives and jobs, they already have their own ways of making money and deal with traditional banking system, they would consider spending time on learning and researching cryptocurrencies as a waste of time or simply unable to find some spare time for it and take it serious as we are right now.

Current generation doesn't need technology and can't understand the importance of internet, only future generations can cherish new era of modernity.

If it is advertised properly accompanied by education it can work. But yes it needs to be simplified because most people are too last to learn something new.
The main thing is to create something where bitcoins payment will look like an option and nothing specia, not agressive marceting or people will accept it negativly as some ney scam scheme.

First the amazing thing is how far bitcoin has come as a community driven asset. That said the power of mass advertising can change entire societies. Advertising affects the clothes we wear, the phones we buy and even the food we eat. The first coin that has the ability for mass advertising will be the next big coin. I think there will be at least 2 or 3 such in the next 12 months.

Why would we want to advertise bitcoin in public at this point in time knowing that we cannot move forward with either SegWit or bigger blocks? Besides, bitcoin is already getting the attention that it needs with the help of the price going through the roof yet people are still skeptical about it. What we need to focus on is how are we going to solve the issue (if there is one) in scalabiity for the long-term.

Also, no one would be willing to pay for it anyway.

And who will pay for that?
It will take a lot of dollars and I dont think someone is willing to do it.
If anyone wants to try to get donations for that kind of advertisement no one will trust it. What if he suddenly run and just takes all the money.
This could be done by the whales only and they will only do it once the bitcoin fall and they need to bring it back to get all their target price.
Conclusion: It can't be done.

Who would advertise BTC on television would be a business using Bitcoin. They wouldn't advertise Bitcoin itself, but the service they are running and that is dealing with Bitcoins. But at this moment, I think there isn't any business who is able to do it. Television time is expensive and there are cheaper and more useful methods to advertise, on the internet.

I also believe the television spectators aren't the public focused to adopt Crypto-Currency, at least for now.

For me thats a really a good eays if we really want yo spread the knowledge about bitcoin in many people making advertisement is a good move since many people watching tv they can catch up some ideas or just having a small knowledge about crytocurrency is a good start for them for investments.

It is agreed that it can raise awareness on Bitcoin but the main concern is, who will finance it?  Would you finance it?  Definitely I won't because I am not incentivised to do so unless I have a store that needs advertising.  I agree that let the circumstances put Bitcoin in TV, and Social Media is way cheaper plus it reach out people who are already knowledgeable in using the internet.
Like most thing it will likely either have to be a large community effort (although people probably won't want to spend that much individually) so something like that would likely have to be done by a company with a stake in Bitcoin, be it Coinbase, Kraken or whoever. I don't believe we would be able to get enough people interested and willing to pay for an advertisement and work on it.

Anything on the will have to go mainstream and it is very costly. Bitcoin is not a corporation so who will pay ? The best bet is to advertise a certain Bitcoin service or services that is Bitcoin already to introduce new people bit not advertising Bitcoin as itself. I think it can work and we should be seeing more ads like this in the years to come.

You're right. But let me quickly add that there's no way Bitcoin can be directly advertised and the cost incurred from such an advertisement paid for by a single individual as Bitcoin is an open source.

However, shops and business ventures accepting Bitcoin can advertise their services and mention that they accept Bitcoin. That way awareness is created about Bitcoin.

This is a fun idea, however there is no one willing to start a big canpaign such as this. There is also the fact that not many know about the topic of bitcoin and will most likely misunderstand it as a simple investment like in mutual fund. What we need is to educate the people about this and its pros and cons. That way, many can be more aware of it. TV would seem like you are just selling to them.

i think it is good but, if that will be happen, i think government might be doing something , they will be legalize it but, they will implement a law and put taxes in every transactions that we make, they will also limit us. The reason why people get interested to bitcoin is that, we are free here, we can make tramnsactions anytime but having a fee but in a little amount, we are free to earn.

In as much as it's a good idea we should ask ourselves at whose expense are we going to advertise Bitcoin on tv? I don't think it's feasible but when it becomes possible I will support it, no doubt.

Rather than advertising Bitcoin as a currency, we should advertise Bitcoin-based ventures such as the payment solutions (BitPay, Coinbase.etc), exchanges (Bitstamp, Kraken.etc) and market places (Bitify.etc).

I don't know if Tv commercials could affect significantly the bitcoin and knowledge that people have about it. Many people are watching commercials but without actualy paying attention what the commercial is all about. Also, it wouldn't have the same affect in all countries and the problem could be the audience, who are the targeted people?

All who say that bitcoin commercials would be great blah blah. Stop. Of course, TV Ads would be a good way to bolster BTC popularity but they won't happen, ever.

They only way you will see any even remotely related to BTC TV commercial would be situation,
where big company linked to BTC somehow: Coinbase, Gemini, maybe Purse or Bitwala will have a TV spot, advertising their services.

That is the only viable situation which will indirectly promote BTC which can realistically happen in the future.
