its a gift from a coin/token developer or a team, sometimes they give's task and requirements, if you are qualified to avail the airdrop from them. and when they giving token/coins for free they also survey the people or a community to find a best steps forward to their project to attract more investors too.

Generally airdrop is like as giveaway. when one team discover a project they want to spread them and their project all over the world.to published them and marketing the project they give some giveaway free or for completing some simple task .when people done their task the people able to get the airdrop from the team. Is there any topic with the terms we use here on forum?

Its a give-away of a new projects that gives you tasks and if you fulfill that tasks they will give you the reward 1-2 days depends on the campaign. Depends if the coin is listed on an exchange or not. Deep Onion for example is on Novaexchange, and it's trading for about $1.6 a coin. When it was first listed a month ago (maybe two), I think it was at < $.30 so it has gone up quiet a bit in a short time.
