Well, if you look at market trends, my best bet in terms of upside potential is truly Blocknet.

Blocknet launched the very first DEX on the market, but they'll way more than just that. Through Blockchain operability they could do Oracles too like Chainlink, among a ton of other stuff.
This project is so undervalued, considering it's been in active development since 2014.

With heavier regulation, comes a huge demand for privacy. You do the math! Wink

This is a great find. Thanks, mate. I believe that Blocknet is one of the few undervalued PoS coins on the market, as it has a solid development team and attractive features. I've been eager of a truly decentralized exchange that takes censorship-resistance very seriously. It seems that Blocknet's "Block DX" fits the bill nicely. Considering its current price of ~$1.30, I believe that it's still a bargain. If successful enough within the mainstream world, it could be one of the best PoS coins you could invest in a lifetime.

I'm also looking forward for ETH's implementation of Casper PoS, as it'll make things quite interesting for early adopters of the cryptocurrency. Prices could skyrocket like never before, once people experience a faster and cheaper Ethereum. Being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, it has all the odds of winning the attention of people within the mainstream world than other altcoins on the market. This leaves me with ETH as the #1 choice for long-term staking, followed by Blocknet, Stakenet, Bean Cash, Peercoin, Blackcoin, V Systems, and Reddcoin. Investing a little here and there would allow you to minimize your risk of loss, if the market decides to go down the drain massively in a blink of an eye. All in all, it seems that PoS is the way of the future. Smiley

The best coin to get rewards from holding is EOS in my opinion. However, NEO is great as well. But actually, mining is a much more profitable way of increasing the amount of alts, even on cloud mining or mining contracts.

Yeah I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Reddcoin hardfork will do for staking. Reddcoin has a massive community and a lot of support so that is why I really like this coin moving forward and also its been around for years now.

I have recently been looking more into TRON and the staking feature that is on Binance, TRON also seems to be very popular with a lot of people so its well worth looking into.

There are so many PoS coins now days so we have a lot of options to choose which is best for us all.

Reddcoin's latest hard fork will be exciting for sure. Right after the announcement, I've noticed that prices have increased a little. It shows that people are still interested in the cryptocurrency despite being old. Considering its proven track record of development and innovation, it's one of the PoS coins you wouldn't want to miss in your long term investment.

As for TRON, I didn't knew that it was possible to "stake" it on Binance. It could turn out to become a nice source of passive income without the need to attend your wallet at all times. Still though, it's somewhat risky since you're leaving your coins in a centralized exchange prone towards hacking. In my case, I've been delegating TRX to certain representatives where I receive a constant reward (paid either in TRX or a token) every month. SesameSeed is a good representative to vote for, as it gives you SEED constantly. That "SEED" token is exchangeable to a 1:1 ratio towards TRX at anytime. It proves to be a nice source of passive income for TRON holders indeed.

But as you've said earlier, there are many PoS options to choose from. You'd just have to choose wisely in order to multiply your investment in the least time possible. Wink

Presuming ETH does go full Proof of stake I think that might be one of the best choices for holding long term on the basis that many will want to be involved with mining and transactions available via a wallet if the makers allow this to be possible.
The other alternative I like and has been a pioneer since 2014 is Blackcoin BLK which is very easy to use and has a variety of apps made for it.   See the video on Blackhalo on youtube for a talk through of features available.

Ethereum might become the best PoS coin in existence, if it upgrades from PoW to PoS in its entirety. With an outstanding development team, and constant innovation, ETH could create a solid PoS model that's secure & reliable. As long as the "nothing at stake" problem is solved, then Ethereum will become quite a revolutionary PoS coin to invest into.

I've been watching a staking pool for ETH called "Rocket Pool" which is still in development. It could prove to be a nice source of passive income if successful. It's only a matter of time before the ETH dev team decides to adopt Casper PoS, in order to make staking pools a reality. In the meantime, old PoS coins like Peercoin, Blackcoin, and Reddcoin, are good enough for a long term investment. I'm surprised to see Blackcoin with smart contract functionality (Blackhalo) but it doesn't appear to be under active development. If it gains traction, then it'll be quite revolutionary as well. I think regardless of what we feel the "best" POS coin is, it has to at least be something we can find a use for. Cause if you think about it, all this staking is worthless if nobody needs the services for those staked coins or those Masternodes or whatever staking mechanism you want to make up.
Refreshing honesty there.  OTOH as long as a coin retains some value, it's worth it to stake, right?  Nobody has really found a use for reddcoin but it still trades for about 13 satoshi, and as long as you can keep earning those coins you're still making money.

I would not stake a coin like that, tho for precisely the reason you mentioned even if it does earn income.  There is a very good chance the value could fall even further and it isn't like anybody is using rdd to buy things.  I like pos coins a lot, but I stick with neo almost exclusively but have played around with navcoin in the past.  At least with neo you can log out of the wallet and still be able to earn gas.  I don't know of another coin that can do that.

I like Ontology[ONT] you get rewards in form of ONG as soon as you have ONT in your wallet. The reward will be based on how big is your holdings and with or without internet it will keep on earning. Coin age is no longer necessary.

NEO has been very good to me for the past year so that is why I stick with it. I do exchange the gas for other coins that I think have a bright future and won't die like most coins/tokens will in the next Altcoin bull run. I also continue to stake some of the older coins like Bean Cash and Reddcoin as they have also done well for me for years now.

Old PoS coins are good, as well as, actively developed ones like NEO and even TRON (which is based on DPoS). Choosing the most prominent PoS coins on the market, will allow you to obtain greater results on your investment within a couple of years from now. Based on my experience, coins like Bean Cash, Reddcoin, Blackcoin, Peercoin, Stakenet, Stratis, NEO, and even PIVX expand your chances of profiting within the future. Some of these coins are old too (like Blackcoin, Peercoin, and Reddcoin), which proves their battle-tested Blockchain networks over the years.

I've seen that Reddcoin will be undergoing a hard fork on block #3,000,000. This aims to make some minor adjustments to its PoSV2 consensus algorithm, in order to optimize staking rewards. Considering its current price, it's pretty good deal in my own opinion. Of course, you should do your own research when investing into PoS coins since they're considered highly risky. But I believe that PoS is the way of the future, as it enables faster transactions and lower operational costs. All in all, old PoS coins (like the ones previously mentioned) and newer ones like NEO and Stakenet seem to be the best ones to invest into right now. Just my opinion Smiley

At this time i would choose NEO to by my "dancing partener" for the next few years, its gone down 20x so it can bring a lot of profit in the next bull run and lets not forget you can stake it.

Honestly, NEO has been an undervalued coin for a long time. Big players like Ethereum, EOS, and TRON have taken the world by storm as they've gathered the most number of users and decentralized applications into them. NEO has a great technology for scalability, but it's been behind its rivals because of the lack of marketing/promotion. Not to mention, the bear market of 2018 has greatly affected its price across the crypto market. We'll have to see how everything unfolds with the next iteration of NEO (NEO 3.0) that's bound to happen soon.

With current prices, I believe that NEO is still a bargain. Imagine buying and staking NEO while its "GAS" token heads back towards its original price levels of over $95 per coin. It would truly make you extremely wealthy in no time. But everything will depend on how many devs are willing to bring their own dApps to NEO for the mainstream world to use. Despite this, NEO is a PoS coin that's a little hidden gem you wouldn't want to miss. I would stake NEO, Bean Cash, and even Ethereum (once it becomes a PoS coin) for years to come. They've been proven to be highly profitable over time (especially Bean Cash), despite their ups and downs. Staking pools makes our lives easier by allowing us to reap the rewards without opening your wallet 24/7. Still though, only decentralized solutions (like Pool of Stake, and Rocket Pool) would be the best choice for pooled staking.

Nonetheless, I hope to see new and exciting PoS coins with attractive rewards for their investors. They're much better than PoW coins because of their high-reward ratio. But be aware, that most PoS coins are extremely risky because of their huge supply within the crypto market. Only good-old PoS coins and those with a decent supply will survive in the long run. Just my thoughts Grin

Would be great if NEO had a higher percentage.  If you diversify the coins you stake, you might not have enough to buy much to stake. You have to buy $500 worth to get around $7.50 a year from staking.

https://stakingrewards.com/asset/neo

Granted, it might climb back up in price if more people learn how to stake.

I only have one NEO right now and it's producing the little bits of gas and every few days I redeem it when I go into my wallet. I want to find a list of NEP tokens as well and projects and see what is happening dapps wise on the NEO blockchain. I too am looking for coins to stake long term that has potential or that spit out airdrops so I can start growing some bags again by 2021. I lost way too much in this bear market round and want to start again properly. Maybe if I start to learn to trade well and earn a profit I can convert some of that every time to buy a NEO here and there and let it grow some more GAS for me.

The best thing you could do is to quickly convert your "GAS" into a stablecoin of your choice for piece of mind. That way, you could protect yourself against high fluctuations in price within a bear market. I believe that NEO is a very good PoS coin, that allows you to earn some passive income without even having to leave your wallet open 24/7. Right now, it's pretty undervalued considering that it's a smart contract cryptocurrency like Ethereum. Perhaps, you might get lucky with the launch of NEO 3.0 as prices could hit the roof across the market. We all know how people become extremely hyped or excited when a crypto adopts new & attractive features. In the short term, NEO could easily hit $50 or more within the next bull market. As long as you keep buying and staking NEO at cheap prices, you'll be able to stack a lot of money for the future.

Personally, I've been buying lots of NEO, as well as, Bean Cash. They're extremely profitable at the moment as they have a high reward ratio. Of course, most PoS coins have a greater risk than those that are PoW-based. But, they're truly rewarding if you manage to hodl them (and sell some in exchange for a stablecoin like Tether) until prices start rising again across the market. Whenever there's a new PoS coin released on the market, it's best to grab the opportunity of becoming an early adopter before it's too late. All in all, it seems to me that the aforementioned coins are the best ones to invest into right now. Smiley

I'm on a bit of a Bean buying spree atm. It's cheap atm due to Bittrex's unfortunate decision to delist but its found new exchanges like altmarkets.io . Unparallelled satoshi generation... so much fun from a happy little Bean.

I don't know why you still choose to trade/invest bean cash, I wouldn't. I feel if It was good enough, It wouldn't have gotten delisted from Bittrex. I don't know if it's just me, but trading low volume coins or catching knifes just isn't my thing. I prefer to go with well established coins. Recently, Binance launched their own staking platform  So I'm considering being a part of it. I think TRX and BNB are good options ~ Not trying to shill. But If I'm going to invest, It's those two.

I really like Tron as well. But, it's not really staking in the sense of downloading the wallet and depositing coins. You have to vote on Super Representatives in order to stake. I think Binance is implementing it where all you have to do is deposit and hold TRX on there. That's really good for newer people who want to get into it. However, I'm not too sure on the ROI percent from Binance as I haven't deposited any there yet to test it out. They could be skimming a percent of the staking rewards off the top before they even get to users if they wanted. But, I'm not sure if they're even doing that, so don't take it as gospel. It's just something that they could do if they wanted and it could make it where there are better options.

You have strong faith in NEO, that's why you are choosing NEO as one of the best coins for holding. Of course, in 2017, NEO coin has very huge demand in terms of price and their development activity and this makes the price of NEO increased very rapidly. Soon they are going to release NEO 3.0 which seems to be huge developments activity.

Nonetheless, with the many PoS coins available on the market right now, we have a wide variety of options to choose from based on our specific needs. Only a few minutes of your time will suffice in order to determine which PoS coin is the most suitable for your investment. As for me, I'd go with old PoS coins that will last for years to come. Just my opinion Smiley

I think only first ~50 coins on the list (CMC) and daily volume $1mill.+ can be considered as a potentially good investment. All others are just toys for a few people who test his development skills.
