don't panic and read the related news why this coin is dropping. after that its a good time to decide whether to sell of hold on to your coins

When price is falling, all i can do is hold and do nothing, i mean is wait.

The only choice when the price of any coin is falling is just hold the coins and wait for the right time to sell the coins in the market. Sometime we may fail to sell them at right time but don't worry holding is the best option we have when the price is decreasing.
Holding should be done with proper analysis and plan , so you won't have a messed up money management.
Imagine when your whole money stuck on it there and you have to wait more than 5 months!
What you gonna do ? Still holding ? I doubt about it , so the point is to have a good money management and good planning. Then you can hold it as long as possible.

When price are fallen on my holdings, I try to do two things. First, I try to see if the loss I am getting fall withing my budget for loss. If does, I take the loss and possibly by more knowing that the loss in question will be recovered. Otherwise, I cut my losses as quickly as possible

What you do at this time is determined by what your strategy is. Are you a HOLDER or  TRADER?
If you are a day, either day trader or just a trader, you will definitely sell so as not to loose out
If you are a HOLDER, of course you should keep Holding until the coin attains a good height then you sell to have a significant harvest.

I think the best would be to buy more of the falling token if you believe in the project behind it. This is actually the best time to make more gain.

You but at dip price and sell high once it rise.

If the price is falling then buy some and hold them till the price recovers . you will have some nice profit if you buy when the price is down cause like you there thousands and thousands of other traders in the market , and what every trader do when the price goes down by much is they buy so the price will recover quick ,try to buy some before it does.

It depends on your trading style. If you are a day trader, you can sell and buy back at a lower price. But if you are a long term trader you can hold it. Follow the trend. Sell only when you see that trend is changing. Hope it helps you.

When prices is falling all we need to do is to hold of course no one would sell investments at loss. So we better hold and wait patiently.

You can do speculation,  but if your coins are good coins like ethereum or litecoin, better to hold it longer. Because they are potentially can be good investments. i think to do speculation and don't panic, try to analyze and make your decision, if the coins has bad history price,  then sell it is a good choice to avoid the loss and dump

The only thing you can do when the price dipping is buy even more. In this Christmas season, the price will continue to drop. If you have got the funds it would be wise to buy both bitcoin and altcoins and hold.
Apart from buying of more number of coins, one more thing which you need to do is to keep holding the coins which you previously bought. Do not get panic like most of other people who just sell their coins soon they see the market value going down. Just stay calm and cool and keep on buying more number of coins as this will later on help you in having greater profit when the market price will increase.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).
.                It is so simple, when the price is falling then that is the time you buy bitcoins , that is an opportunity  to have it at Its lowest price. Then hold it for a while and when the price of Bitcoin Will increase then that is time  you Will sell it and that you Will gain more profit.  In that case  it  Will doubled or trippled  your profit.  If you have patience of holding it and selling it when the price is high then you get the benefits from it. IF you are out you can buy according to plan, if you are in and have time to make in case there is a wavy situation : ) you can sell and buy again during price is falling but you need to know when you stop precisely
wave down buy wave up sell : )

I do nothing. I will research first to find the reason. i wont be scare to sell panicly. Patience is one of the most skill you have to train when trading. If not, you are easy to lose money
Precisely! without patience then you should not go and invest with crypto/bitcoin, this industry have a lots of fluctuations without proper knowledge your money will quickly burned out, you should always have a good planning before you decide if you are familiar with the flow then cutting some loses and
do another try will help you to recover just be careful and assess properly.

I suggested, Hold the coin don't sell it in the low price no need to panic this may could you lose your funds and investment. Keep patience and wait to the right time to sell the coin. when the time alt-coin increase its value, then it’s time to dump the coins.
If the coin you are holding is bitcoin, then you are absolutely right and I see eye to eye with you in this regard. I am not in favor of doing panic selling that too with bitcoin. Panic selling is usually done by those who are new to crypto trading.

Newbies often fall victim to panic selling because they are inexperienced ones and have bad control over their emotions. The best method is simply to hold until you don’t achieve your target.

first you should know the trigger why does the price moving up or down excessively. dont get trapped by the price manipulation from the whales.
if the price movements confirmed as a result of a big news, you can jump into it (whether you buy or sell your asset depend on the news).
trading is just a game of psychology (and money) where whales can bully some people with panic issue.

so far, I am holding all of my altcoins and bitcoin, trade some free money when a good moment has come and I can jump into it.

Actually there are price movements which aren't logical, somehow you've just gotta deal with them. The key to lower your risks is to diversify, and I'd suggest to projects/coins that aren't entirely tied up to BTCBTCBTC. It's a good portfolio that's gonna get you through the ups and downs of this space.

Deciding to hold a certain percentage of your fund in bitcoin before hand is the first decision and best decision to make! The sea of cryptocurrency is very turbulent and if you are not prepare your capital might sink during such turbulent event.
