Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

Exactly what professionals say. HOLDD if you did not sell it when it was higher than the price. Because this is your only option so you do not get lost. Because if you sell your altcoins with low on your purchased price it means that it's gone and it's hard to recover. If you do not want to hold your business then sell it immediately when it's up and you've earned it at Altcoins. Even though that's 5% 10% that's a great help because when your earnings are accumulated you will also get that amount when you accumulate

What to do when prices are falling in crypto currency. Hold and buy the deep. It sound simple but it is not as simple as it sound. It require practise and discipline
I am also in favor of buying as many bitcoin as you can when the prices are falling because bitcoin is the only currency that has potential of pumping back with high speed and intensity. But if there is any altcoin which is dumping badly, it is highly advised to get rid of that coin as soon as possible because many altcoins are not capable of producing profits like bitcoin.

Think fast.  You need to be able to figure quickly why it is falling and is it going to come back.  BTC drops based on this and that rumor sets and always comes back, is this true for the coin you have now that is dropping?  The thing that some people forget is that they have already made money on a coin, not always true, but often forgotten.  They buy a coin, do this and that and make a tidy bit of profit as it rises, then freak out and make this and that guess as it drops.
What I believe is this, if you have still got profit left, I will advise you to sell immediately and then wait for the price to fall the lowest it can, then you invest back. But if at the time of falling you’ve got no profit left, then I will say you should take the risk and leave it there.
That makes sense. Your profits are most important and preferable than your losses. If you find anything indulged in profit or if you get any profit ratio until the time of falling, better is to sell. Reason is, in case of bitcoin, although market revive again but you may need money for your living. But if you don’t have such emergency, then I must say, still hold it for the time price comes back.
I think where it usually go wrong is when you are holding a shit coin. As I am looking at the market, it might be hard for some of them to recover or might take a very long time before they even recover to the state they were. That is why it is never good to hold some altcoins for so long once you know they are not yet strong in the market or they are shitty, and at the slightest chance, drop them before you lose too much.

bitcoin is varying with time when ever the price of bitcoin is falling then some people become tense but its time to be happy because it is the time to buying more and more bitcoin because when you buy large number of bitcoin then when the price is increased from the present and you sale these bitcoins then you can get more profit.
No need to tense because bitcoin is going up and down with time to time and those who are tense they must see that it has recovered from 3k to 6k and that’s a milestone for bitcoin and as that’s true prices varies as user demand become high price will go up and that time will be time to sell no need to sell at low that gives a sure loss so think calmly and take decision when the prices are at top and invest at low.

You have 2 options:
1. Cut losses when prices fall, usually 30% and buy back when prices are low. This is called DCA.
2. You can hold this coin, wait for the price to go up if you see the potential in its coming time.

Do not worry about this when it dump, stay calm and wait for it as it will surely pump back.

I agree with your point of view for ETH and BTC. But with altcoins, no one can say that it will recover. I have seen many new coins and tokens decrease for many years. You can't wait them.
Time and patience is what it takes for some altcoins and they can always have an ATH too.
ETH, DASH, MONERO etc were once lower even in 2016 than they are presently. And even for short/long term tradings, you might still need to have some patience with some of them.

However, that depends on the kind of coin you have, cause you should never deal on shit coins. Research the coin you are getting into and you will be fine and relaxed even when their prices are falling.

Haha! Altcoins are rather majority of altcoins are just trash. There are few altcoins that are having good technical support, rest are just wasting time of investors and as you said, there are many altcoins that remained down for years which simply means they are no more in the game. Bitcoin is as we all know always leading digital currencies and even at present it is having the highest price among all and eth is struggling to follow it.

You have a good portfolio in there. If I where you, just take a break make a quality time with your friends, family and your love ones. The tide will soon be gone i believe your portfolio is for long term so no need to be in a hurry.
He should really act upon your piece of advice and spend some memorable time with his beloved ones. The collection of coins he is having is great for anyone for being successful in crypto market. I will personally like to give him a suggestion for exchanging eth with bitcoin for securer and brighter future. Eth like all other altcoins keep following the footsteps of bitcoin. Sell off bitcoin by the end of this year for enjoying your investment.

The altcoins market is so new and different from other markets that all of us who are dedicated to trading are just beginning to learn how to handle the high volatility and unpredictability that prevails in the market. I personally have decided to stop trading many altcoins to focus on a few, but still my results are not as good as I would like.

My rule is that when the prices are falling, don't do panic sells! The price of a coin which you have can have bad prices sometimes, and this is not the meaning of that, you have to sell your coins. Be logic. If you give up just after the falling of the price, I guarantee that, you lose. But if you try to be a little bit patient, you can maybe reach bigger profits in the future.

You can wait the price of Ethereum recover, I'm sure this altcoin never fall down to below 0.01 BTC again. As long as you can be patient, the whale will comeback to this coin soon. Currently, just by most of the trader are fearing and sell their coin, so it has dumped the price of Ethereum a lot.

Yes if their price and the value of the bitcoin is getting down even then it is the time to buy the bitcoin and to hold for the long time because I is the source to earn the money, people always take the wrong decision about the bitcoin selling at the; low price but according to me it is not good to sell but that should buy and hold the low price bitcoin or the long time to earn the smart and the profitable income.

That's correct, there are times when bitcoin will pump altcoins will dump, as long as you are holding a coins that you believe on it's potential you don't have to worry when the price will dump, instead be smart and buy some on dip as it will easily give you money in short period of time.
Holding is the only key to be profitable, whether you are long term or short term holder as long as you do it with timing you'll be able to profit.

Take advantage of it and buy a lot. Don't panic if one your coins are those that keeps falling because it will recover somehow and you just need to wait and never try to sell it.
These things are not the kind of things you should put your 100% trust on, cause anything can happening tomorrow, it might end tomorrow and you will lose your money, or your government might decide to ban it, you can never tell. If price is falling, you should just sell and hold your money, and see what happens next. When price is at lowest rate and starts to appreciate, you can then invest back your money and wait for profit.

If you have long term investment - HOLD
and short-term sales. Just like trading cycle Buy, Sell, Hold, So if you enter trading you think it well. Find out if your money is enough. Also know how much you can take it. So when you get in there you have enough knowledge and do not fall into that.
