What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
It's extremely childish and insensitive to ml a mistakeqnf instead of gindingvout what your mistake was, you just source for some place to apportion blame. You learn nothing from that by not realising what your mistake or mistakes was and looking out for means to put it go a stop and ensure you don't make the same mistake anymore.
That they left Bitcoin investments for good, that isn't an assurance that they would be ultimately safe or successful in there next investment.

What I would advise such person is,
To learn how to look for faults in there steps rather than apportion blame.
They need go understand that in the cryptospace, you are your own first line of security and depending on how you take your security serious, you could be susceptible to hacks or safe.

Where do you keep your coins?
What exchanges do you use in transacting?
How have you handled KYC?

Loosing at a time shouldn't be the end, you could help yourself jn trying to know more and build yet another portfolio.

It would be very painful when someone lost bitcoins to hackers and if that is repeatedly then the person was too careless and does not value bitcoin. someone that understand important of bitcoin would always to make sure that his wallet (s) is/are secure from external attacks. I am suspecting that the bitconers were using close source (custodial) wallets and not open source (non custodial) wallets. If they were using cold wallets like Electrum, Sparrow and Bluewallet then the bitcoins would have been saved. well I have not been hacked so I don't know the feeling. those who know the important of bitcoin will still buy if they were hacked or lost it.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin
I have read some painful stories online about Bitcoin fans that lost their Bitcoin to hacks more than once and how they gave up because of the hacks, this made me curious about people on the forum, I will like to ask you guys how many times you have lost Bitcoin to hacks or your own mistakes, and why are you still not giving up.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

Like a story about an American who lost his love for Bitcoin because of the hacks, I believe it's because of his own carelessness though, because you can't leave your wallet on a bench outside your home and not expect someone to steal it, and you come out and say your wallet was stolen by a thief, like what do expect?

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?

I have not been hack or experience any before but hack are preventable, you just need to prioritize security and privacy over minor things on the internet that you don't need. Let me share you my experience on how I downloaded malware on my pc when I was ones a video freeky heavy downloader and tweak software. I was actually searching for design software for my course of study, the ones available are too cost, so I was looking for alternative ones or cheaper and I stumbled upon one like that was free version. Unknown to me, the software contains a malware but I didn't know. After I installed it on my system, my laptop begin to restart on its own but I was thinking it was the operating system update as I barely use the PC but something miraculous happen that night when I copy one wallet address on the forum to check and verify one stake wallet address, it gave me another wallet address and at that point, I knew already that I have fucked with wrong software because I want something cheap.

Thess are the things you get when you don't prioritize privacy and security, the system was only for my design project. I format everything and install another operating system but even till date, I have not use it for anything related to bitcoin nor design and all this happened 2021 when I was still a newborn baby to bitcoin. I've lost money through hack before but I did some research and I found out that it's my own fault, see, making mistakes is something, not learning from that mistake is another, if you make some mistakes twice then you are the problem.

I expect such people to learn from their mistakes, there must be something wrong somewhere, if your bitcoin wallet is hacked you need go abandoned the wallet and create a new one, then be more careful with the new one.

If you don't know what you are doing about crypto wallets it's better to learn first, try watching some videos or do some readings to understand crypto wallet very well

I remember the person that sent some Bitcoin with $500k, this is a very big mistake from the sender, if he doesn't learn what he did wrong, he will make another mistake again.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
Identify what you are doing wrongly and fix your actions next time. People can't expect that same actions will result in different consequences. That is usually the main issue in investments environment, as people fall for a scam once, due to being greedy, and instead of avoid such offers later, they persue another offers of the same kind, hoping it's going to be different next time. Another big issue is being careless with personal data which give access to the wallet, but it can be easily fixed by being organized with your documents, passwords and storing it inside a safe compartment unacessible to other people.

Knowledge before Investment/money. To minimize losing or wasting your money you need to be very knowledgeable person. Only the right kind of knowledge should be acquired. And the knowledge should be good. Good knowledge solves problems properly, without creating more problems. Bad ones have more disadvantages and little to zero advantages.
Money given to knowledgeable people actually last longer than those given to the ignorants.

It's important to understand Bitcoin before investing in it. Bitcoin investment is safer if you invest according to the important principles it's built on. For example, better to use established Open-source/Transparent, decentralized/self-custody, offline wallets...on clean/airgap devices.  Enough knowledge should be acquired first before putting alot of money into Bitcoin or any good investment. .

People can easily blame Bitcoin for their own mistakes that caused the hack, and this is because they don't understand how Bitcoin works, they don't know what's right and what's wrong about how to use a Bitcoin wallet.

I have lost some Bitcoin by using Coinomi and I learned that I revealed my private key somehow, Instead of blaming what I don't understand, I decided to go deep into Bitcoin and read more about how to keep my Bitcoin safe from stupid mistakes.

When something bad happens, the solution is not to give up and start spreading false news about it, try to understand what went wrong on your side first before accepting the fact that Bitcoin is the problem, it's only those that don't want to learn that give up and blame what they don't understand.

My personal advice is store your Private Key securely , maybe store it on Google Drive also help.

Giving up due to hacks? Something's wrong in here. Surely they could have already learned their lesson on the first hack they encountered. Once your wallet got hacked, it's either you would forever quit bitcoin or learn your lesson and find more 'secured' ways to store your Bitcoin.

I can even recall a reputated member here that got his wallet hacked that is used for SC payments, iirc. I would have given up in life at that point considering that 1 Bitcoin in here is hella worth a lot.

I am not sure what to advice to people that got their Bitcoin stolen more than twice, but I would just like to let them step back in a bit and check what could possibly lead to their coins being stolen? Seed phrase written in a e-document? Funds held in an exchange? There's plenty of ways that could make your BTC go poof instant.

I have heard many stories of people who have been hacked many times on this bitcoin. Because of the hack, some people have given up and moved on to other jobs. And there are some people who don't give up and stick to it. I haven't been to this forum for a long time. Been coming to this forum for a while now and I'm very lucky as I haven't come across any hacking so far.

Even if I get hacked here twice, I won't give up here. Every time I give up hope is lost here so I will always do my best not to get hacked here.

Hacks are mainly due to one's carelessness.  A person can never hack and take anything from him if he is careful. For this reason, wallet phase should always be kept in a safe place. Keep it in a place where no one but you can see it.

I have not lost money in Bitcoin through hack but I have lost huge some of money in several occasions trying to buy Bitcoin from a third-party. There were several restrictions in my country including access to forex for international transaction and even PayPal is limited. This left us with the only option of using third parties(people abroad or who have someone abroad) when we started using Bitcoin before I even heard about Luno and other exchanges.

On several occasions, they have refused sending me the Bitcoin after receiving my money. These are the dark days I had to endure because I really needed the opportunity that Bitcoin offers which is being able to send money across borders with ease and comfort. I never stopped or gave up on Bitcoin, I just picked myself up and moved on. Today I'm better informed on how to go about the entire thing so the chances of loosing money through those means is minimal. As for hack, I don't want to experience it at all because the experience is terrible. You all be safe out there!

I would say that just let them give up, got hacked multiple times in a row, especially if the hacking method done to them is just the same, meaning that they never learn. For anyone who want to invest in Bitcoin or crypto are required to learn since it's a fairly new thing. I mean, the first hack should make them realize that they did something wrong and then fix that, for example if they save their fund in a custodial wallet then it got hacked, then they should move to a non-custodial wallet, or even better a cold wallet. But if they didn't and they got hacked then the best advice is just to give up, forget about Bitcoin, and find other types investment.

You can't convince everyone to keep running the same track, it's a personal choice. The money involved makes a mark on their mind that nothing can heal at all. The ones who know how to secure their wallets and keeping their devices safe will be able to avoid such thing but those who can't will have difficulty learning them fresh.

Keep in mind that it is their hard earned money that we are discussing about, not money obtained from illegal sources. So it's normal to be emotional about it.

Hence I would not bother about this, rather they have to learn cybersecurity basics first.
You have a point here. No matter what we say or do it is normal for them to feel such emotions as they lost something, specifically money that they probably spent hours of hard work for and to just see it disappear is truly a traumatic incident for anyone. We cannot tell them what to feel, we cannot just push them to be okay because it is a lost for them and we (as much context as we can get) do not have any idea how much that affects them. Moreover, we cannot really just tell them to try again because we don't know their situation, we don't know if they'll be able to have the capital to invest or be in the right mindset to do so. As much as helping is a good deed, in situations such as this it is better to let them decided on what they will do next.

That is really the result of not being cautious  like installing unkonwn applications or clicking links in emails. You should be aware of the risk so that you will know how to prevent it, and you should also always have a security measure when it comes to accessing your wallet like having your seed phrase put inside a safe and not in your personal computer or having a hardware wallet and putting it somewhere safe.

Start clean, reset all your devices, create new emails, and create new accounts. All of the old traces should be gone. The password that you used before should be new. Use a long password that is hard to guess with a combination of special characters. This is what you need when you got hacked already and you want to purchase Bitcoin again.

I will like to ask you guys how many times you have lost Bitcoin to hacks or your own mistakes...
Well, let's say I'm one of the few lucky people who haven't got hacked or lost Bitcoin through inappropriate ways, except investing wrongly.

and why are you still not giving up.
It should be very simple – winners don't quit and quitters don't win. Those who lose and give up are the real failures but those who aren't deterred by their losses never failed.

But of course, I will. All I've to do is to find how I got hacked and all that. I've discovered that most people get hacked through malware they unknowingly download. So, it's important to be weary of links one downloads. Again, once you find in your wallet anything that looks like tokens but you didn't buy them; don't attempt o claim then. Ignore or delete them at once. That's what I do.

Exposing your Bitcoin wallet to be hacked twice is something not funny. Your Bitcoin wallet is like a Bank vault, it should be guarded with utmost importance and should be your top secret.
It's more like exposing your financial activities for hackers to penetrate through.

Being a Bitcoin enthusiast, nothing will discouraged me from still investing in bitcoin even if I have previously lost it before ( though I'm sure, I'm not going to find myself in that kind of situation).

So for people that have lost their bitcoin before, I would advise they always protect their wallets details for hackers not to penetrate, they shouldn't keep themselves vulnerable for hackers. That way, I'm sure they will enjoy their Bitcoin investment in a long run.

It is not easy to change the mindset of someone to embrace bitcoin back again after being hacked by severally by hackers.  The reason things like this happens continuously is because things are not been done properly. For hackers or scammers to succeed in getting someone that means the person is careless in the manner in which data's of the wallet are been handled.  So the first thing to do before  giving advice to the person is to know how the person handles security aspects of the wallet,  and give more knowledge on how things should be done ,with this the person can see reason to come back again.

It seems that there is deep trauma for someone who often becomes a victim of wallet hackers, so I think what you say is also true that we have to know how he looks after his wallet or how he uses his wallet. So we can find out where the mistakes he made were when he used his own wallet, because people who guard their wallets so well with better security practices I don't think will ever become victims of hackers repeatedly.

So, this is of course caused by errors in using his wallet so he can easily become a victim of wallet hackers and if this still happens to his new wallet, I think he needs to replace the new operating system that is sticky on his device. And after that it is also very important for him to receive advice and how to use the wallet from other experienced people like you said so that he has the will to return to using Bitcoin with a newer wallet.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

If I were to get hacked, i think i might be off the market for a long time but it depends on the individual. I want to make sure that i take all the precautions before i get hacked and i try not to leave any evidence of vulnerability. When i see people whose Bitcoin wallet has been hacked and they didn't take precautions, i don't want to feel sorry for them when they get hacked again because they don't realize what they are doing.

There are various ways to protect your Bitcoin wallet and most of them are secure. It's all up to you and if you're careful enough and have taken precautions to avoid being hacked, you should feel comfortable. People can be fooled once and it can be remedied but if they are fooled a second time, they are fools. My most important advice is not to go online. If you have savings that you are afraid of losing, stay away from going online. Just when you think you have done everything carefully, your savings can vaporize.

You know something happens due to negligence. There are things we don’t suppose to play with sometimes in this investment, but we take them as minor things, and that is why some people lost their bitcoin due to hackers. Another thing is the knowledge of how to store your bitcoin in a safe place. If we have this knowledge of how we can store our bitcoin in a safe place and take good care of our privacy, which is the private key, I think there is nothing more than what I have said, and I believe our bitcoin will be saved.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

I think this will depend on how someone lost his bitcoins. If you realise that it’s your mistake that your wallet got hacked and you don’t have anyone to blame, you will continue buying, if you wish, because for me, I have never been hacked before, and I don’t pray for such things because it is really painful when you have worked hard to get something stored and unfortunately, within some minutes, another person runs away with such things.

However, it will depend on someone's decision. If you think you will still continue to buy because you believe in the bitcoin future, then it's normal, but don’t advise anyone or convince them to make the decision themselves; it will be better if they do it themselves.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?

I can’t advise people like this; we are talking about money here, and I can’t advise someone or show him what to do with his or her money. I’ll only let him know ways in which, if he does such a thing, it won't happen to them again, and they will be the ones to decide for themselves.

So the first thing to do before  giving advice to the person is to know how the person handles security aspects of the wallet,  and give more knowledge on how things should be done ,with this the person can see reason to come back again.
Such as analyzing how the person manages their security, organizes their wallet, and keeps their private keys.
Because many people are always worried about the security of their accounts or wallets but do not pay special attention to wallet security.

Seeing this phenomenon, I was reminded of an incident experienced by my good friend when he lost several coins worth thousands of dollars from his wallet not just in one wallet, but several wallets that he had.

Trying to ask and review what was going on, my friend did not apply good security for the devices used.
Not using double protection from antivirus, and often Configuring wallets with new DApps.

Some of the activities carried out are one of the gaps for malware to enter and he also sold some random tokens sent by unknown addresses, this is a way for scammers to drain the contents of the target's wallet.
