I have read some painful stories online about Bitcoin fans that lost their Bitcoin to hacks more than once and how they gave up because of the hacks, this made me curious about people on the forum, I will like to ask you guys how many times you have lost Bitcoin to hacks or your own mistakes, and why are you still not giving up.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

Like a story about an American who lost his love for Bitcoin because of the hacks, I believe it's because of his own carelessness though, because you can't leave your wallet on a bench outside your home and not expect someone to steal it, and you come out and say your wallet was stolen by a thief, like what do expect?

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?

The most important point here is that stock exchanges or brokerage firms do what is necessary to protect their investors. For example, creating funds for hack-like situations and delivering these funds to institutions that will ensure that they reach investors when negative situations arise. Similar studies to protect investors should be carried out and made mandatory. Otherwise, a stock exchange will be hacked and the investor will be victimized and cannot access his money.

We must also follow the security steps you must take personally. However, even if you do everything perfectly on the internet, we cannot say that we are fully protected.

Goodness gracious didn't happen to me and not even waiting for it.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?
Of course, it doesn't stop someone from buying not unless you also have lost your will and desire to buy it.

Like a story about an American who lost his love for Bitcoin because of the hacks, I believe it's because of his own carelessness though, because you can't leave your wallet on a bench outside your home and not expect someone to steal it, and you come out and say your wallet was stolen by a thief, like what do expect?
Usually the problem is on them and the negligence should they be accounted for. But for some stories that you may see, they are not going to admit it that they've been negligent.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
Actually it's hard to advise if they've lost their will to keep going on this market. But maybe just the typical motivation so that you don't play out their emotions as well.

If the amount is significant or something that could be able to bought things that you do like but you haven't just because you do tend to save it up for future bull runs and then it had been stolen? Then for sure you would really be having those thoughts on quitting and turning your back into Bitcoin.. Speaking about on what we should tell? Its better leave them alone and there's no way that you could really be able to turn them back on bitcoin again or with crypto because having that kind of situation is really a total wreckage or devastation with their money and since people does have that different kind of threshold when it comes to things then
its not shocking that there would be ones who would really be that quitting completely and would never ever go back no matter what convincing you would really be doing. This is why one of the most important thing that you should really be doing is on how you would really be that keeping your money safe, always be mindful about the safety of your wallet and its keys because once these things are exposed then your money is really that
prone on getting stolen.

I haven't encountered such a situation yet. Though I lost from trading or holding, I never lost to hackers. But yeah, at the beginning, I lost to Ponzi when I wasn't aware of what Ponzi was and how it worked. When I learn, I never fall into any kind of scam trap. I am very careful with my funds, especially with seed phrases and devices. At least I am not going to fall into any scamming or hacking traps. However, if anyone faces such an issue and loses multiple times, Then he should learn from his past mistakes and rebuild slowly instead of giving up.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?

My advice is to continue learning more about bitcoin. The learning doesn't stop if you knew how to buy and hold bitcoin, trade bitcoin with other crypto, knew how to read TAs and understand the fundamentals. Some people always overlook on learning how to secure their bitcoin, forgetting about the people lurking around waiting for an opportunity to steal it from your wallet. That's the one thing most new investors are lacking with their queries. They tend to ask what asset is good to hold and how they are able to purchase with lower fees, but forgot to ask how to store it all that assets safe.
I personally did not experience being hacked or scammed crypto or non crypto related, because being aware of these frauds is a part of my continues learning.

According to my opinion, those who are losing their bitcoin don't know how to keep their money safe; as you said, we can't leave our wallets unattended and assume nothing will happen. As of right now, I haven't started buying any Bitcoin because I don't have any money to begin investing in order to understand what these people are dealing with; however, if I were one of those people and lost my bitcoin for the first time, I would learn from my mistake. I will continue to study more about bitcoin and how to keep my money safe because giving up is not an option in this life; after all, it is said that there is no gain without suffering. I am confident that individuals who lost their bitcoin will definitely learn lessons from their mistakes, but quitting is not an option.

Owing Bitcoin is one thing but its security is a very important thing, I have not experienced a hack before but I know how painful it can be for one to get raked of their funds.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?
The issue with these guys that lost their Bitcoin is not with Buying Bitcoin, but rather the issue of keeping it safe. Many people have invested in Bitcoin but have failed to learn about its security and as a result lost everything to this hackers.

Never give up rather learn from the mistake and learn to keep cryptos safe, by protecting and not exposing your seed phrases,  and ensure making use of secure wallets to store your funds.

Till now I have not been hacked and I am really happy about that. And if I am not got hacked then I doubt if I can give a legit or 100% accurate answer to your query of why we still not giving up. But using my common sense I can say one thing for sure. That is those who have lost or hacked in BTC just like the recent hack attempt by using the Vitalik's Twitter account which has made people lose their more than 601k dollars. Those people must be discouraged now and most of them must have unfollowed the Vitalik too. But the thing that keeps them hopeful is the flow and incoming of money.

Crypto has made people unexpected money that's why people now do not want to give up on something that would make them financially free. The answers to this hope query will be different depending on the person who, how gets into crypto. Let's say one who get into crypto because he saw someone else making money out of it. If he got scammed then he would curse the whole digital financial system.

We should encourage others financially and mentally too so that they remain hopeful and don't make dumb decisions.

Actually in this case giving hard advice is also a little useless because we have to have compassion and indeed this should be a lesson that don't feel safe when you are in sensitive things like this because it could be that the bitcoins that we collect in portopolio eventually disappear not left because of the actions of some irresponsible people.
That's if it happens only once but it would be very stupid if it was exposed to something like this several times.
My point is whether he does not learn from mistakes and this is not something that should be advised when hacking occurs several times to the same person but he does not learn and always does negligence again and again with the portopolio he has.
Try to start valuing what is yours because regardless of how much or little it is, when it is taken by someone else, regret is the only thing that will be done.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
If you lost your bitcoin more than once to Hackers, you did not learn the lesson first on keeping your bitcoins safe, that is why it repeated itself and happened again.

If you were not a member of the forum when you first lost your bitcoins, and now you are a member, you should try to use the search options to search for similar cases like yours, and see the safety procedures to prevent a repeat that was shared. If there is no case like your own, and your issue is peculiar,

If you were a member of this forum when you got hacked, it means you refused learning from the experience of other people in the forum who were victims before.

As an investor and someone practicing self custody, it is also your responsibility to learn how to keep your investment safe.

Most of the people who got hacked were also the ones who put themselves in the situation of hacking. For example, people would start clicking random e-mail requests from various users and they would also invest in ponzi-schemes in which this increases their chance of getting hacked.

While I do understand that some of these people are newbies to begin with, they should at least be more extra careful especially when they are dealing with this kind of tricks that is somehow obvious to the eye.

Better be safe than sorry- always doubt random links that are being sent. If someone adds you on their profile, be doubtful and think of being defensive to prevent any kind of scam or whatsoever.

I think I lost once but it was my mistake because I do not activate the 2fa on my exchange account.  I do not give up because mistakes can be fixed by learning methods that will enable us to not repeat the same mistake again.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with the hacks, it is my own fault that I experienced it so I guess I would learn the method of securing my Bitcoin wallet first before diving to Bitcoin investment again.

I would advise them to give time to study on how to safely secure a wallet and how to avoid being infected by malware.  It is their laziness that they do not learn the best way to secure a wallet that led to their Bitcoin hack

My advice maybe brutal, but I am still going to say it regardless, the sure thing here is that, Bitcoin will continue to grow and gain adoption with or without them, like it or not, it's the painful truth, if anyone lost Bitcoin through a hack, they should learn from it and better secure their Bitcoin investment as they buy in again, giving up is rather not the way to go..

Regardless of the fact one lost Bitcoin, that does not take away the opportunities still present in Bitcoin, I myself have lost Bitcoin through exchange hacks, which is clearly not my fault, and then, ive also lost several altcoins through phishing and other vices which I blame myself entirely, but then , I am still here, never giving up, Bitcoin have changed my life more than I ever imagines, giving up because of a hack will rather make me lost far greater opportunities , so I did rather learn from what ever caused the hack, and try not to make same mistake again, than give up totally ..

In an infinite race, who ever falls and refuse to stand up and keep running is the loser .

When those who lose their Bitcoins realize it was their own fault that resulted in their Bitcoin wallet being hacked, I don't think they need advice. after losing, they will definitely have the attitude to be more careful in storing or using their wallet.
but on the other hand, there will be those who lose the Bitcoin they have but don't realize their mistake but instead blame the wallet security system or think that Bitcoin is not safe and easy to hack.

Your analogy is spot on, and if you want to advise those who lost due to the hacking of their Bitcoin wallets. You can use your analogy to make them aware to be more careful when using a wallet for transactions or just connecting a wallet.

My BTC were never hacked and I do not want them to be. But for a second, if they got stolen then I do not know what I will do other than just regretting. But of course, we can not ignore the fact that, behind every hack, there is our own mistake that has led the hackers into our computer. For example, there is a local community member on our local board who lost more than $ 1,000 dollars just because he used an application downloaded from the website (getintopc). We all know, GIP is a website where we can find cracked software. According to him, he lost money but he accepted his fate and still stood up and did not lose hope. Because losing hope is not the answer to those hackers.

I have a great topic to show or emphasize the fact that keeping hope is all we need. Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council

If you read this thread you will find that James who lost BTC back in 2013, is still hoping to find those BTC and making efforts and also spending money to win a lawsuit against CC. The point is, Hope is the only factor that drives others against such incidents. We should remain vigilant to all types of scams that are currently ongoing in the market then we might save ourselves from them.

Those who have lost their BTC, I have only one piece of advice to them, which is: "Do not lose hope and be active and do not give up on BTC and crypto because we all lose something in our life but still we move on and make our livings on the same things then why giving up on BTC".

Bitcoin gets hacked due to some carelessness, so everyone should be careful. I always take precautions so never faced hacking. But if ever bitcoins get hacked from my wallet I will try to buy bitcoins again. Because if Bitcoin gets hacked I have myself to blame for my carelessness. I will try to buy bitcoin again with caution.

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
The reason for those whose bitcoins have been hacked is due to their carelessness or lack of proper understanding of bitcoins. Most people who have had their bitcoins hacked know what they did wrong. Some of the reasons for wallet hacking are, entering the link given by hackers without understanding, connecting the wallet to any side, hackers adopt various tricks, many people step into hacker's tricks without understanding, due to which the wallet gets hacked. Now if the person whose bitcoin has been hacked still wants to invest in bitcoin again. If he doesn't have a proper understanding of Bitcoin, he should get a better understanding of Bitcoin.

if i may add, if you are into crypto, better not to disclose in public or in any of your social media channels about your dealings with crypto. because the truth is, you don't know who is lurking around to find their next victim. so if you are loud with what you are doing with crypto, then, expect that some fraudsters will be after you. and when it comes to security of your own wallet, be aware of what you are doing online. there are so many phishing links out there.
and if you've been hacked already, then, learn from your shortcomings, why such hacking happened in the first place.

I have not experienced a bitcoin hack before, but even if I do, it could only break me down for a couple of days, weeks, or months, depending on how much is involved. But giving up is actually one of the worst mistakes that one could make, as such a decision has close to every chance that you could have gotten from recovering or gaining the few funds that you have lost during the hack.

When one experiences any form of hack, the first thing I should think of is discovering the means that were used to penetrate my wallet so that I can block that access to prevent that from happening again in the future, and after that, I can think of ways of accumulating back what I have lost.

One of the things that I can use to encourage myself to get back those BTC that I have lost (getting them back doesn't mean recovering them, but buying them back) is that if I lose money because of some form of scam or by my own mistake, will that stop me from making more money and adding to my savings or wealth? No, the same way I can't feel discouraged with lost funds, I can't discourage myself from stopping to invest in bitcoin because of some sort of hack.

I haven't been a victim to hackers or lost my bitcoin due to my carelessness. What I want to say to those that are victims to hackers,is that they should learn from their mistakes which led to the hack and also they should learn and practice wallet security to enable them safeguard their Bitcoin from hackers.

Those victims shouldn't give up because, the downfall of a man is not the end of his life, and they should start all over again to start a new bitcoin journey and take maximum precautions on wallet safety. It is only if the person is old and don't have any income that it will be fustrating. As long as there is life, there is hope. Don't be greedy because this can also lead to your hack.

Anything that transpired which makes you to loose your asset is mainly your fault, you have your digital currency with you and they belong to you, no one is forcing you to use a centralized exchange, hot wallet, or render your private keys vulnerable for others to sneak in and use against you, no one invites you to make unnecessary downloads or clicking on malicious links, everything that happens was as a result of our attitude in handling our assets, we cannot blame anyone than ourselves if anything ugly should happen, there are people also in cryptocurrency who had never had an experience of such over the years, then why should ours be different.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

If they think they have learnt enough to remain security vibrant and know as many as possible tactics they may steal from the, but if you aren't yet sure in knowing the cause of your first experience, then don't try invest again till you know, if not what happened the first time will repeat itself.
