I used web wallet. To be honest, it is the only type of wallet that I know and the type that I am familiar with. It is very convenient to me since I am always online and I always used my laptop. I have just started reading about hardware wallet and I am still wondering how it can be more secure and more reliable than the type I am currently using. I am really curious and interested to know more about it.

Hardware wallets will stay but website wallet could always end up to run away.
There is no owner with the hardware wallet. You are the owner of it and you will have a private key that you could also use with other wallets. There is none with websites. Only log in username and password.

The best option is using different wallets for different purposes.

  • Hardware wallet for long term storage
  • Mobile wallet for payments
  • Desktop wallet for moving funds around (e.g. exchanges)
I definitely agree with you about that, It's a good thing to split your bitcoin into 2 or more wallets ,Whether offline or online wallets for a huge of reasons, like security.
But, I liked your strategy about storing your bitcoin. In my case, i store my bitcoin into 2 wallets. The first one is blockchain and the second is XAPO, they are good wallets in terms of security, but personally i prefer using blockchain.

I use hardware wallets (Trezor and Ledger Nano), MultiBit (current v. 0.4.1), blockchain.info web wallet and CoPay.  I use them all but some more than others.

blockchain's is convenient, and I have not had any problem in a long time (I did some 2 -3 years ago, but they resolved it OK).  It's too bad that blockchain.info no longer offers their mixing service.  I have an earlier version of their wallet that allows imports of keys, important for me.

Re hardware, I guess I slightly prefer my Trezor vs. the Ledger, but both a re good.

I am still experimenting with CoPay and MultiBit.

Actually I uses many different types of wallet, I used coinbase vault systems to keep some of my bitcoins there because of it's simplicity and they said that they are storing any coins in their vault in their cold wallet which is multi sig. I uses Electrum in my laptop as a wallet for my trading and also BreadWallet in my iPhone for precautions of losing my wallet  Grin

Same here, depending on the occasion and what i want to do, then i choose a particular wallet but it's been between coinbase  and bitcoin core  for most of my bitcoin transactions. Electrum is also quite good and safe but i  barely use mine these days.

We're on the same page. The only wallet that I am knowledgeable about is a web-wallet. Fortunately, my country provides a web-wallet that is commonly-used by most of my country men as it provides different modes of payment and options to cash-in, or cash-out my bitcoins. Since the wallet that I am using is on the internet by nature, there is always the potential of losing everything in the event that the website will be scammed.

Personally, I suggest that you divide your bitcoins into multiple wallets to reduce the risk of losing everything in one-go. Though the risk might increase, at least the value that you lost is lower compared if you put all into one wallet only.

There is a thread about recomendations for the best wallet to use, but not all practice what they preach, so this poll is to see what people are actually using.
I understand that some people use multiple wallets of different kinds, so this poll asks which wallet is most used, this can be measured either by quantity of bitcoin or ammount of transactions.

Blockchain or BaseCoin

Actually, for what I used now was mulitbit.hd and Electrum wallet, these two for me was proven and tested already. Especially for the Electrum wallet, just make sure you will save the seed phrase and password of your account in there.

I am using desktop wallet and web wallet at the moment. I have some doubts for the web wallet part but because it is so easy to use it, I cannot stop using it. hoping that nothing bad will happen.

I am using a web wallet and as of the moment nothing bad happens.  Just like what you said it is very easy to use.  And I can use it to directly pay our bills and load my phone.  I can transfer funds to my friends and even pay my loan.  But I will try that desktop wallet.

I use combination of Electrum, MyEtherWallet and paper wallet. So far I didn't face any issues as I do take my backups pretty often.

I prefer to use web wallet because web wallet can be accessed anytime anywhere without downloading the whole blockchain and also you can buy bitcoins directly in some webwallets like coinbase and xapo the only disadvantage of using some online wallets is the verification step must have the documents required to make a withdrawal.

I am using electrum wallet to retailer my bitcoins as it is very protected and experienced fantastic protection characteristics which makes your bitcoin actually risk-free in your wallet and there is no chance that anybody can steal your bitcoins from your wallet as I am using it given that quite lengthy time and have not arrive across by means of any issue in it.

I have electrum too bit for storing long term  bitcoins. Mostly, I am using a webwallet since its easy and convenient to transfer from webwallet to bank to top up my mobile and sending cash to relatives and friends.

I use different wallets for every transactions. If I have coins that I need to trade through ethereum I use my ether wallet. If I have transactions using waves, I use waves wallet. For my bitcoin, I use coins.ph because it's the most trusted wallet in our country, almost all who use bitcoin in our country trust and use this wallet.

I also use different wallets i use waves, myether. For bitcoin i use blockchain i know many people are using it so i also use it. The great thing about blockchain is that it has ETH support.

This means actually you can buy eth and btc on the same wallet. This adds popularity to blockchain.
