I will recommend you ETH wallet because i'm using it.
The recommend wallet i trust so far, is blockchain.info wallet, because is more reliable and saved and also can be change password at any time you feel like, and is working perfectly.
First careful which one you will choose.
A lot of ppl are using Ledger, ether(I'm using). Is good to choose a secure wallet to prevent the hack.

I recommend you hardware wallet which is little costly but very much secure.
i think you should use only hardware wallets because it is safe though little costly.
Try Ledger wallet
You can use ladger nano or trezor. They are basically the same. They bring you maximum level of protection for your currency. It's the ultimate protection
For some time now,I use coinbase and it is secured.Can give it a try and see

Electrum for Bitcoin and mytherwallet for ETH.
If you want a multicurrency wallet you may use Waves.
If you prefer a mobile app, you may choose coinomi.
I am using MyEtherWallet. It does the job but I am not fully satisfied with the layout and not too user friendly
There are so many wallets out there to use storing ERC20 tokens. You can use Metamask wallet for the Ethereum. 
Right! better use Metamask it allows you store hundreds of different ERC20 tokens (those built on the Ethereum network) but when you want bitcoin, no sorry it cannot be used to store Bitcoin. And its easy to use, once you have your metamask wallet you can send the desired amount of ETH from Coinbase to your MetaMask wallet address like for instance, that's how its done. For beginners.. The best wallets i did suggest are
Blockchain wallets for bitcoin, ethereum and now they have bitcash (more safer)
imtoken for ethereum and anything/ coin concerning eth exchange (best ERC20 Wallet ive used)
Coinbase (exchange wallet) do not use to save coin.. Just for transactions
For long term investment. Use Trezor or Nano... The best hardware wallets that can give you confidence

There are many wallet in online like bitcoin paper wallet, my ether wallet, coinbase wallet and many others but i like best coinbase wallet and i recommend coinbase wallet
You can try coinomi. It has simple and nice interface. Also, you can save many crypto coins and ERC20 tokens in it. that is my suggestion
