Not to be rude,
but I think its nearly impossible for
bitcoin to be the world currency.

Can you please tell us why do you think this? You don't believe in Bitcoin, am I right? You just wrote that Bitcoin won't do it, but you didn't write why, so there's no reason for it :/ You should help us to improving it at all!

i want it to be bitcoin of course, but something is telling me that we remain with fiat and especially the king usd for a very long time, but in the end it does not matter much, it matter what you will use as a currency

i think China Yuan will replace the USD place Smiley

It's a split between the Yuan and the US Dollar for me. China has signed with the BRICS countries and this partnership would increase it's strengh even further. The US will take some knocks, but they will bounce

back. {We have seen several examples in history, where the US citizens bounce back from huge setbacks.. like the terrorist attack on Sept '11}

The Euro has potential, but the debt from some of these countries within the Euro zone, is simply to big too ignore... It will pull them down, in the long run.  Huh

I see a financial devide between China + BRICS and The wild wild West.  Roll Eyes

For me the new world currency will be the old one. Us dollar. Maybe bitcoin will have his place on the world of currencies but it will not possible that can be predominant. Then another important currency will be yuan because China are going very well with the economy and with the investment outside China.

There it will be not any new world currency. There will be the currency which has been the currency of the world since its creation. The United States dollar. There are to many reasons for that. But the most important is the faith on it in all the world because of the power and the role that United States have in the world.

Bitcoin maybe it will become one day (with the work of every of us) its privileged child and one day maybe can stay beside of it. It is my hope this.

I think that the 3 top currencies will be US $, Euro and Bitcoin, as prevalent in digital world.

For the time being, it's going to be the dollar. Other currencies may have more value, but it's the dollar that everything else is compared too. Bitcoin is a bit too niche to be the currency of the world. However, the future currency of the world will probably be an online one similar to bitcoin, because more and more people are just using cards and not physical dollars anyway.

It's all going online, bitcoin may or may not be the currency to really do it.

Is the Zimbabwe Dollar the "funny" part of the survey or what?

yes, was trying to be. apparantly it did not succeed. better next time

You could have put Greece up there to be a little current.   Sadly I think they will still  have some effect on zone until someone bails them out.

I do think a "world currency" is a hard thing.  Its not easy to get entire world to accept a form of currency.

First is US Dollar for another 30+ years, second is China yuan. I believe Bitcoin has a lot of potential and it still has a long way to go to become a world currency.I think no ppl will choose Zimbabwe dollar, gold is no longer used as currency, and recognized as safe haven of storing value or industrial material.
