Then a massive crash of altcoins would occur too, do you still remember when Bitcoin hits $3,500 this year? You notice that a lot of altcoins were painted red in the marketcap that's why we should be thankful that Bitcoin now is way more higher than the price of $3,500. Most of us think it is the end of Bitcoin and weak-handed were forced to sell their coins because of the FUD that they experienced.

In my opinion, the fallback to the old support level of the chart can take the market cap back to the 2018. The altcoins will not be able to go up if the BTC price doesn't cross the $14000. The price predictions are useless unless it gets realized by the market itself. It can be the final destination for the most altcoin but the deep prices will be pumped by the small social groups, anyway. Massive selloff can cause the speical effect on the market, the crash will continue affecting the altcoins too. Altcoins should not be traded during the BTC selloff in my humble opinion. There are so many potentially good and technical analysis support4ed coins which lie on the buy zone. The buy zone is the best time to enter the market with the BTC but it is a personal preference which backed up with the experience by different traders.

I don't think many alts would recover against Bitcoin if this happens and so they will crash even more. Some solid alts with good liquidity like Litecoin may recover but most won't recover in my opinion. Thoughts? Undecided

I hope it's not going to happen, we have the momentum in our side but if ever it crashes, it could be the end for most altcoins especially those altcoins who do not have products and platforms that community will be using for the long term, everytime Bitcoin and the market is down, most of the altcoins also cease to exist.
What happens is something like a purge, the market will make these shitcoins to vanish and the one that would likely to stay are coins with real usage.

If you believed that there is a sort of correlation between Bitcoin and Alts then you might as well say that some altcoins will perished because of this or the top ten coins will be like 90%-98% down again. Ethereum has recovered from $80 to it's current price. So that's a good test to look at again if Bitcoin crashes to $5000, probably Ethereum will be < $80.

However, if you think that investors are going to shift their funds to altcoin, then we might see altcoin market flourish again because of the Bitcoin crash.

So we really can't tell at this point what will be the overall sentiments. We all know that crypto is very volatile and it can change dramatically for the better or worse.

First of all is it even possible to see BTC below 5k, Surely that is bound to cause serious panics and maybe some altcoin at that time might come up stronger basically due to more buys and change of dominance but the question is who is ready to possibly take that dominance

maybe you are right, few alts will growing, because a lot of people will move their money from bitcoin to altcoin
but, not all because a lot of people will choose a stable coins to safe their money my friend

It is obvious even the considered stable coins do possess a price drop and it always required to quickly keep observing the market and implement a decision plan to ensure a managing operation in our trading else it might end up in loss and a safe play is choosing a stable coins instead a new alt.

This is what I think would happen, most of the Altcoins would crash along with it and put many projects out of their misery because they now lack money to continue working on their project but few projects will rise and would share more of the market dominance then people will feel there is need to look for a strong alternative to BTC

I think then altcoins again fall heavily in price and it will be difficult for them to show us the top of their price

If Bitcoin crashes back to $5000, the altcoins will crash back too even more and many altcoins will become worthless. It is proved that most altcoins markets are depending on the BTC market and price, and any increasing or decreasing of BTC price is affecting altcoins prices as well.
Well, the reaction from altcoin is what will come because bitcoin has a great connection to altcoin, the value of altcoin may get a slight sock and go down but a high rate is only temporary because we need to know that bitcoin is down, capitalization will need to run to the right position, it takes time for that and the proper position is altcoin. And altcoins will constantly have pumps when capitalization returns, this scenario is something we can see often and this is what I want right now, altcoin is catastrophic enough, it needs to come back and so do investors

Solid projects like litecoin will recover I think.

What is a solid project?   a solid project is that project brings something new on crypto table. Something that will be used 10 years from now and Bitcoin cant do it on their own.  I am sorry to tell you that Litecoin is excluded in category of solid projects.   But I am not saying it will die or anything like that. It will just never be used much. There will be millions such not used coins and each of them will have some price, that will not be that high. But they will still exist.

So you think bitcoin will crash down back again to 5000$ well  i assure you that bitcoin will never go on that price again.
I'm bullish but I'm balancing things and there's still a chance but that would be the slightest that I can imagine. Just for the sake of being ready for the unexpected things, everything is possible for the price of bitcoin as it remains volatile.

And for the alts ,only the strongest will remain,  all altcoins that are only pump and dump, no working product, will be eliminated.
Sure those reliable and strong alts will remain. Those altcoins and tokens that doesn't work what they have proposed will soon to be dumped by most of their investors and can't eventually go up and will have a zero volume.

In crypto platform Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency, so peoples are like the Bitcoin investment. Other altcoins are doing great job but most of the people concentrate the top coin so Bitcoin and few altcoins are maintain the constant value. But innovative projects are always welcome in this platform. So Bitcoin is moving backward automatically many altcoins moving backward and some altcoins are maintain the constant level on crypto market.

Altcoins will probably remain dead. The altcoin markets always need new blood and newbies only come when the Bitcoin market surpasses its all-time-high-price. The last altcoin season came after breaking $1,150 (the previous ATH).

Litecoin will recover even if bitcoin is crash and so do with the other strong altcoin.
But I admitted that it might be difficult for the altcoin to try to recover the price.
Maybe it could happen in slowly, and it will need a long time to be back to the price before.
I believe that the altcoin will still exist even if bitcoin crash in the deep price and maybe there will be a time to reset the altcoin position so the market will be growth again.

There would be for sure some good buying opportunities. But they would be only for a short period of time. Each coin have its own bottom not related to any other coin.

If this happens, it will be total destruction for alts, they will go to the all time lows and even lower. BTC then easily have 90% + dominance.
But I do not think that 5000 is likely because of the whole world financial situation. I think there is enough demand to support 7-8k lowest levels.

All these alts that your pointing stays strong when bitcoin falls to $3,000 level and now your telling us that they may not recover if Bitcoin falls to $5,000?is that a joke mate?
I respect your opinion but you should consider checking the market history first before advertising Litecoin here.and also don’t jump into conclusions when the price of bitcoin is not falling from 5 digits for atleast a month or more
