So what do you think would happen if another Cryptocurrency (Example Monero / Ethereum etc) were to take Bitcoins spot as first in market cap?
Are you looking at the price trend of the different altcoin in the market cap? It seems you are not because you came up with that kind of question. If you look closely at the market cap, you can see that almost all coins are price dependent on Bitcoin, meaning if Bitcoin's price is going down, the same will happen with the others and vice versa. So that is really hard to imagine given the circumstances.

Crypto world is not reliable in any cases so however new the crypto is, it will suffer from unreliablity

In that case, that coin would really have a good potential. I cannot see any new coin that can replace bitcoin yet. As we all know, a lot of people already trusted bitcoin and they consider it as the main currency because it's the first cryptocurrency to become very successful and bring convenience to everyone.

Yes I Agree. Interesting.

A new crypto king? I don't think so. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and many people will change their lives because of it. And then, it all change easily. For me, bitcoin is still the father and valueable coin.

For some years I doubt anything could be very near to btc as it is being the original coin and as a reason today we have many other coins in the market. So may be their would be some coins which will get evolved over the years and may fill the gap between the bitcoin and 2nd coin in the market cap which far behind than the btc.

Nothing special would happen; that would be a natural evolution due to the fact that some altcoins have better tech specs than BTC.
Yes it will not be a big issue, because up and down is always there in competition, we can see that people are also investing money in Etherium and other crytpo currencies, they have the expectation that the coin they have selected will compete with any other cypto currency and will overcome them, may be it  will happen in future, but it does not mean that it will bring such a big revolution in the market, i hope that it will be a normal process.

I'm not entirely sure what this question is getting at. What exactly could happen, it's just a statistic, it doesn't really mean anything. Bitcoin could lose top spot for a number of reasons and the way the crypto market would be would change with each. Nothing all that spectacular would change though. Let's say ETH grows to overtake Bitcoin, it won't change anything.
It is never that simple, in the scenario you are bringing up there will not be much of a problem since bitcoin will just be surpassed by a strong competitor, but what if bitcoin lost that spot because some other occurrence, what if some kind of vulnerability was found or if the governments did a 51% attack or what if they incarcerated the devs, there are many scenarios in which bitcoin losing the first spot in market cap could come from something else than a market competitor surpassing it.

But can it be any other way? I mean losing the first spot will always mean succumbing to a competitor but that is not going to happen without some external factor playing out anyway. I think we should rather put these factors into at least 2 categories or groups. The first is for causes or events which affect only bitcoin and the other for things which affect all cryptocurrencies at once. Obviously, the first group of events should be preferred since there will be only victim with no one else hurt.

That is a hard question cause we know only Times when bitcoin is a king and some prices or just following bitcoin price, if there will be a new king whole market could crash or there won't be anything special, that just depends.

100% agree, @Trimegistus . In fact, it's inevitable. I made the same point on Medium: https://medium.com/@WilliamFreedman/tethers-good-run-it-s-as-old-as-the-microprocessor-80959e412c67

Input of new btcs are always welcomed so I don't think anything would happen as everyone would similarly get used to it

Those would be interesting days indeed!

Would mean that this new king has proven significant intrinsic value over the incumbent, the likes of which we have't seen yet. So such a cryto has not been revealed yet.

So what do you think would happen if another Cryptocurrency (Example Monero / Ethereum etc) were to take Bitcoins spot as first in market cap?
It does't really matter.

As of now Bitcoin reached the highest market cap yet. And because of that, many platforms open towards Bitcoin. And for this reason they knew that, they can make profit out of this. Soon different coin-based wallets emerged, various exchange, etc. people are starting to use it as soon as they've realized that Bitcoin is in a different level when it comes to investments and making profits. So it gave Bitcoin an even more wide range of possibilities, and it gained its reputation and become a trend all over the world. Thus, the price skyrocketed.

So if ever an Altcoin would ever be able to replace Bitcoin, it will just going to do the same loop. At first many people would doubt about the coin, accepting it that instantly, what if its a bubble, and the likes. But soon, if its price would go even higher or atleast in steady (that means this Altcoin is higher that the current price of Bitcoin), then people will again start taking advantage out of it, repeating itself.

In my view, the effect would largely depend on how long this bitcoin competitor is going to remain there and by how much it is going to exceed bitcoin's market cap. If it is due to some random event or purely by chance, nothing of importance will happen. On the other hand though, if the bitcoin killer comes to stay, people are going to invest in it and divest from bitcoin over time because most people are looking for profits only. That would likely mark the end of bitcoin as the king of crypto.

I think if that happens bitcoin value will drop and will no longer appreciate the way it did in the past years. The demand will surely divert into adults and time will come bitcoin will become an ordinary crypto.

Of course, your assumption is wrong because there might be a chance in future that bitcoin mark cap will cross by another coin. Till now, we don't have any clear which one will lead because as of now and for the next 25 years bitcoin is major currency.

Of course all people in this crypto world will shocked if that happen. All we know Bitcoin is the King of CryptoCurrency  and her price was expensive, in the past many days, week, months or year the value of bitcoin rapidly rising than any Crypto. And if some altcoin beat the bitcoin and replace to the throne,  we should have to do is accept it.

Ethereum has the most potential to surpass bitcoin's market cap and nothing else. This digital cryptocurrency goes from strength to strength. Ethereum will have the best long-term potential of any cryptocurrency though due to flexibility and smart contracts. And most ICO's backing it up, what could go wrong for ethereum?
nothing could go wrong with ethereum.but for me its to early to predict, because as this moment and for the next  couple of years, bitcoin will hold supremacy and for sure many of you agreed on this.though posibility is indeed.but not this early

So what do you think would happen if another Cryptocurrency (Example Monero / Ethereum etc) were to take Bitcoins spot as first in market cap?

I dont think anything astounding will happen except the thing that we will be frightened to see that our most favourite currency is not numbered second in the market cap. The prices for two to three different currency would be almost the same, I mean it will be above 10K for top three currency and that would be an amazing choice for us. The process might just speed up in terms of selling of the bitcoin. This is because as always people will want to trust the coin which is at the first place. So naturally speaking rest of the altcoins will not be affected much. Only major changes will occur at the first position.
