I did not know about this news. It is quite disturbing something like it would happen to anyone one, so there is not much to add when comes to commenting on the fact that man was denied his fairly earned money.
Anyways, considering my personal case and the context of the country I live in, I would feel quite of hopeless to see a casino denying that amount of money from me, since here in my country there is no clear jurisdiction or law enforcement precedents on the government helping out to settle disputes with online casinos. Most online casinos actually do not even have official representatives in this country anyways, so I would be only me versus de casino administration. I would obviously lose.

That is why one always needs to to look at where one is betting and make sure it is a big casino with a huge liquidity to offer the winners.

So, to all of you, never put big stakes on sport betting when the casino is small or when there is no legal representative of the casino in your country, otherwise they could do the classic manouver and claim one has broken the terms of use and get away with it.

I don't know if such thread has been created already but there was a news that was trending some weeks ago about a man who won #14million Naira which is equivalent to $10k and was logged out of his sport bet account, he tried severally to access his money but didn't Work out. he sent the Sport betting site a message but didn't get a positive feedback so he had to come out publicly to explain his predicament on air. Below is the link Man logged out of his Sportybet account seeks access to his N14m

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
Have I been in a similar situation won $10,000 before? Smiley No, I would remember such a significant event in my life.

What should you do if you exited an online casino app where you won a big sum? This is obvious. Enter your username and password in the empty lines, and then click “login”. Smiley I don’t understand what problems this lucky guy has? Let him contact the support service of Sportsbet and restore access. Or does Sportsbet not want to pay him a reward and thus prevent him from gaining access to an account with #14million?

This NEVER happened to me before. Why? Because I lose money in most of my Crap sessions - the casinos love me, and I need log myself out or I will lose more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plus it would be safer to play in more reputable casinos. Although, the man's concern might be ongoing, and it will probably be resolved, no?

When I read news like this, I don't even know what to make of it. The pain, the regret and emotional trauma that the customer must be going through would be something else. Unfortunately, even public outcry or a suit against the sports betting site will not change his situation. It is not pessimism it is just that there are no strong regulatory bodies that fight and protect the consumers.

I haven't been in this situation before and I pray that I don't. It would be a nightmare.

Take a look at my merits, It's lucky number
I've experienced this on my Rollbit & Stake account, but it wasn't because of a problem on the platform side, I forgot my password which made me unable to log into the platform and then I requested a new password via the "Forgot Password" menu. From the two platforms I mentioned, all the problems I experienced were resolved smoothly.

If we experience a problem related to a platform, the way to solve it's by communicating with the platform (as I did). SportyBet isn't a new platform, so I think the problem he's experiencing isn't from the platform, why doesn't he try the "Forgot Password" menu?, I see that it requires a cellphone number for authentication, if it was really his account he would have easily solved the problem and can log back into the platform.
Exactly. The possible problem with that is because the gambler or the person who won a huge amount of money from his account doesn't know his own password, or he has forgotten it and can't remember the password, and even if he will do Forgot Password, if he just creates an account without securing the password, even the email he will use, then expect that there will be no way of accessing the account anymore. I know the platform may help in some way, but the thing is, when it comes to account recovery, they could not easily do it because what is the proof that it is your account? How can they be sure that it's yours and not just someone else's? There are procedures to be followed, and as a user of the platform, you are responsible for your account because it's impossible that the problem is caused by the platform; if so, they should be sanctioned, but in the case of the person in the story, it's not; he simply doesn't remember his password.

We can consider the credibility or level of trust in a platform if the platform has just been established, but, in this case we can't do that considering that Sportybet has been established since 2013, they already have built up trust. It could be that the error is on the user's side.

As I said before that I've tried "Forgot Password" on the platform that @OP is referring to and it requires authentication, if the account really belongs to him, he should be able to easily resolve this issue without having to raise it in the media.

Based on what I read so far, the only news that reported this issue is the Punch Newspaper. I wonder why other media don't publish his interview too. Is it exclusive to Punch or is there something else I don't know of? I believe it would be better if he did interviews or shared his story on other media too to put pressure on the casino itself.

And the unfortunate things happen, it seems that this person can't withdraw his money and it looks like the casino is asking for many documents from him, in short KYC.
Yeah, they even asked him for his Skype ID if the screenshots are legit. Maybe they want to interview him first, or use this question as a reason to deny his claim. Hard to tell what's the cause if there's no story from the casino itself.

That is very bad of that Sportsbet company. Though I haven't heard or came across such situation before, but I believe since this matter has been brought to air, it may have been settled by now. I think what this man did is the best thing to do because without coming out to voice out, the case may have died silently. I still wounder why such reputable site that is well known will do such a thing. If they are not serious they should just close the site down instead of login their customer out which is a kind of fraudulent act.

I haven't experience such incident like this before but if I'm in the situation, I'll report it to their customer service or much better if you have a proof of winning like screenshots but we can't tell because this is an accident incident only. I think it will resolve once investigation has been done, because there's a history of activities in every players account.

No, I haven't been in this kind of situation before. And obviously, if you have big money in a casino and playing and suddenly you are logged out by them, then start to feel very nervous. And the unfortunate things happen, it seems that this person can't withdraw his money and it looks like the casino is asking for many documents from him, in short KYC.

But the thing is that even if you send all the documents including your bank account, it doesn't mean anything for a casino and will refuse to pay. So it's really hard where this things will end, even if you go to court or any other mediator, it's not a guarantee.

Not yet but if it was me. I will fight or push with the winning. Also if the site is known as legit one I think they will honor it plus surely it was recorded on the system whether someone has really bet and won.

Thats a big money to let go and probably wouldnt be ignore by sliding up and support will tell its due to lag or any some sort of error.

Btw does the site is known platform or unpopular one?

this is not an issue at all. As long as the betting site hasn't closed down and isn't anonymous, legal action can be taken against them and they will be forced to pay back the money. You know some of the local betting platform would try to outsmart you when you've won a huge sum of money and try shutting you out. It's a very bad act that should be discouraged in it entirety. I know they might be working on framing shit that will suggest that the gambler didn't win such amount of money or stuff like that but since the slip is available and other possible evidence that's in the possession of the gambler , it's easy to bring a solid case against them. And I know that some human right firms would only want to jumpt into this case sinces it has gone public.

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
honestly, this is this first time time I'm hearing that such thing as this is possible. The regular one I know of with most sports betting shops is that after you've won and you come back to take your money, if the money is too big, some of these sports betting shops would intentionally close thier shops for the for reasons best known to you. The best betting channel is that which allows you to do your bet at the comfort of your home, endure your losses when it happens and also enjoy your win without a third party even getting to hear about it.

If I end up in the same situation, i'll give the sportsbook some time before doing something because they mentioned that his account would go through an investigation. And maybe that's their protocol whenever one of their customers suddenly hits a big win. Certain sportsbooks are cautious in paying out winners because mistakes happen (wrongly settled bets, bugs, glitches, etc.). If there's still no update within the week, i'd forward the problem to AskGamblers, and start posting my issue on their social media pages to provide awareness.

I have not won more than 10 times before. That man would win more than 100x is my guess if what he said is true. It is already on the news, people will make sure that if what the man said is true, they will collect the money for him but that is if the betting site is capable. I do not know about sportybet, but it is better to use well known gambling sites that you know will be able to pay your money.
