I've had such encounter several times but my reaction actually depends on who said that and my relationship with that person. If I realize the person has taken his stands and not up for explanations, I ignore him. However, I take my time to educate those who are ready to learn about bitcoin to clear their perceptions. Some of them through that are into bitcoin now.
The best thing we can do to convince the people about bitcoin is show your earnings from bitcoin,from this most of the people understand this is not scam.But if they say that is only used by the hackers,yes they may use it because they know what the bitcoin is capable of so why we are not using it even the most intelligent using people using them.
Well, if a person is really confused about the legal status then it is worth it to spend some time and explain it to him about the current legal scenario regarding the crypto industry. However, if the person is criticizing crypto just for the sake of opposing it then it doesn't make any sense to waste our time for the people who don't have the mindset to listen and understand what this thing is all about and how it works.

Yes, there are still people saying that like for example some of my co workers I tried to invite them to invest in Bitcoin but because they've seen news about Bitcoin that was being used to scan people in our Country they easily turned down me in investing Bitcoin because of that news. Well I just showed them my income in the previous year to give them proof that Bitcoin is not a scammed but an opportunity to change someone's life.

I myself often experience this kind of events, especially in my country, they always think that bitcoin currency used by hackers, criminals, or even money launderers, it is difficult indeed to give this understanding to those who do not learninys just read the information alone, how I react to it? I just give a little understanding of the problem he received it or not it's his business
I would definitely stand up for bitcoin! I personally experience what bitcoin really is! It is a legal virtual currency better known as cryptocurrency. Actual, most of the people I personally know, they think of bitcoin as some sort of ponzi scam. I am the one who's explaining to them what bitcoin really is.
Explain to them that Bitcoin is not illegal and is just a different way of doing trade using new technology, just as Visa/Mastercard changed banking and the way we spend when they were launched.

bitcoin is a digital currency that uses blockchain and is not easily hacked because having it allowed is not using real names, so it's very hard to crack and all transactions are recorded in the ledger in blockchain. In this situation how can we explain that what is real bitcoin?
I educate people who don't know what cryptocurrency is and alwasy tag it negative. By showing them prove with my account and convincing them, some come to understand it.
I try to teach him actually by asking a few questions. One of my friends asked me that why you support bitcoins which is bad and which is using in the darknet! I relied upon that Not only bitcoin But also every coin, Every kind of money is using by the criminals. So, why you don't blame those money? Here it is not a fault of the bitcoin, It's criminal! Criminals, Who are not a real human being.

Actually we don't need to explain often what bitcoin really is. Let them see what they need to know and let bitcoin speaks for itself. Just in case there are any questions then let's answer it honestly. People tends to believe what they see so I think whoever say that bitcoin is illegal haven't experience it yet. Bitcoin is a good system so let them say what they want.

I will definitely argue with that person but in a nice way. I won't let those kind of person to do say such things in a system that is giving me profit. Well honestly bitcoin can be really used in those kinds of activity but we're doing our best to prevent that. Just in case that bitcoin is already being used in that then don't generalize all users.

Why do we always need to explain? Let them believe what they want to believe in! If they say that Bitcoin is a scwm, so be it! It's their lost not ours. Don't waste your time on such people. They are saying those things because they either don't have money to invest or they are not interested on it.

I should say if it illegal why are so many people are joining and investing in crypto currency, they are feared of other saying that it is scam , if it is illegal the fbi would conduct investigation on this crypto matters which is circulating in the internet , but none cryptocurrency nowadays is in demand and many customers and investors are willing to join and participate in this cryptocurrency.

We may have different understanding people who are not aware about Bitcoin, some are no interest, some are not technically inclined to learn, some are just the other side of the coin, they want an easy money but don't want to learn the in's and out of the market, just respect them for nothing we can do if they are not interested in Bitcoin.
I would tell them to stop listening to mainstream media and television. Start researching online instead. You wont be able to explain bitcoin to someone who already has hes totally wrong but rock solid opinion. Most people doesnt even know what decentralization means. Without that you can hardly explain the core of bitcoin.

Bitcoin and crypto-currency is now widely being used as investment instrument, mode of payment, etc. His view of bitcoin and crypto-currency is already outdated. There was a time that is used heavily used in shady websites for illegal transactions, but that is not the only use of it. Feed him with documentaries about bitcoin so he can know better. If he still refuses to acknowledge the value of bitcoin, then give up. You cannot force crypto to anyone.
What exactly is illegal about it? That it's used by criminals? That's not really a good argument.
You could say that bitcoin is used to fund raise, and is a form of payment to pay for goods and services. Look across the industry and see that there are ton of legitimate businesses that accept bitcoin. Just because there are a few bad actors that use it illegitimately doesn't make the technology inherently bad.
