A superstar leaving a club can affect a team as players may be motivated by that superstar.
For Ronaldo to move to Juventus is certainly a lot to miss but Real Madrid never slumped after Ronaldo left.

Now Mbappe is leaving PSG of course fans will miss him, but after the first season he left not knowing how it affected the team and now rarely see PSG play because Mbappe is not there.

Usually, superstar players leaving will affect those who always bet, for example, injured players sometimes affect the team.

One of the main reason why people miss their star player is because it is hard to gets their replacement if they leave or retired and i have says it many times that i am a Liverpool fan and i missed Steven Gerrard when he still active to playing at Liverpool and during his career as a player Gerrard was playing for Liverpool for 17 years and Steven Gerrard also can recognized as one of England the best midfielder and he has good loyality with Liverpool because although at that time some of big teams such as Real Madrid and Chelsea want to bought him from Liverpool but he never want to leave this team and until today although Liverpool currently filled with many of good players but they cannot be considered as Gerrard replacement

because with the departure of a star player from a club, it does not always mean that the club will fade, but the club can and will create new players in their team so that the new players can show their game without being overshadowed by the previous main players and this can be used as a team overhaul with a new formation.

It was also the same case when Messi left Barcelona, it was like the soul of the team went with him. The losses werent just against big rivals, but they even started happening against random teams which they never lost against them before, also it wasn’t something we were used to. Honestly Christian Ronaldo leaving Manchester United and going to Madrid made me to start supporting Real Madrid. When he Ronaldo came back to Manchester United and left again. Regardless of the situation I was so sad and I felt going to stop supporting clubs. I missed Ronaldo’s influence and impact ion the team. Another star player I missed so much was cavani. Made was so good and his short time in Manchester United made me love him so much, even with the worse state of the club

The same goes with the NBA. When Michael Jordan left the Bulls, I became a fan of another team because the player that I loved watching was not there anymore. When he went to the Washington Wizards, I was not even a fan of the Wizards but I do love watching their game just to see Jordan play again.

Superstars have that powerful effect on their fans and whatever it takes they will spare some time just to watch them play I think when they leave the team that you supported for a lot of years, a part of you will also leave that team and maybe look for another superstar that would make you have that urge to watch them over and over again.

I would say C. Ronaldo in Real Madrid but I doubt if he would be any better in current Madrid.
But last night match made me miss him especially in his prime.
It would be great seeing him play with Vini, but personally feel Real Madrid has gotten stronger

I think that it is impossible to answer the main question of the topic unequivocally, because some sports and betting fans watch the team's performances only because of one person, and if he leaves, then everything loses meaning for them.

So all in all I'd say obsession with certain players isn't that great in my opinion. It's a worry I don't have to share with others thankfully for me.

You're right on point mate, but in every team there is always a superstar who has the highest goal, assist, most pass completion or make the most interception from the opponent and if such player leaves the team, the team always ends up moving toward the relegation zone except other players have average ability which might keep them in a steady state or even improve the performance of the team. There are instances where after the dispatchment of their key player the other players in the team, knowing  the task at hand, picks form instantly. However the most successful teams don't have just one key player, its almost assumed that 80 percent of their players are in good form.

Teams that have built the performance of their club around the superstar player they have, always suffer a setback in the team when the superstar player leaves the club. Although their astonishing contributions in matches can't be forgotten, and when it is no longer seen in the team, many football lovers begin to miss their fantastic input and output in the team that brought about the team's wonderful winnings when they have superstar players in their squad. However, no superstar likes to stay put in a particular team without being called up by a big club for a new deal contract for fantastic pay
