Maybe all those story that connecting bitcoin with Silkroad and similar..
Maybe folks are afraid if they use coin that will have some trouble..with law!

Folks are not afraid, they just use what is available. You can't pay a lot of thing with bitcoin.

Well, would you wait for 30 mins to 1 hr to pay for your grocery items? No. It takes a while for btc to be have confirmations so I guess some altcoins can try to squeeze themselves in that area since some of them can be transferred in just a few minutes. Still slow as compared to paying with FIAT but that's still way better than 30 minutes or more.

I would rather have a better mechanism to pay for groceries than to have it bare metal protocol at this point...unless gyft got their act together and stepped up to provide a real grocery store...though its hard to beat the btc brokers that have $0 transfer services aka coinbase and circle.

I think that makes people stop using bitcoin is afraid at price very volatile and too many negative news

Volatility is my main concern yes. The price going up so much or down so much in a matter of days, scares the hell out of me.

Don't be that scared, because the price of bitcoin have always has been this way.
I am sure that at the end of this year or in November we will see a high price.
So I think you can just hold your bitcoins until the price goes up.

Yeah I think more with the volatile of the price I think with the bad news they don't care that much than just the price. People love to see those numbers going up that is why some is going to be interested with bitcoin and yeah some are sacred.

It will never be as fast as paying in cash, obviously not even as fast as a credit card since that's instant. I don't see bitcoin as something you would use to buy grocery products but more for bigger transactions. At the moment bitcoin is not better than fiat a part from being anonymous you don't get much more benefit from it.

I believe it's mostly people who are hearing things from the media who are preferring not to use bitcoin because of the negative news.

I think that people are afraid of using bitcoin, because they want to lose there money when they buy bitcoin and that is why a lot of people is going to panic when the price is going low.

Yeah that is also the problem it will be just nice if we have a lot more ATM for bitcoin so you just can cash out with your phone.
I hoping that it will happen this year more and more ATM in other country too.

The mind is everything. What you think you become.
So after reading this article and especially the ending:

Quote
One thing is for certain: having made Bitcoin less of a security worry, transparency will now be key in attracting users to new models, placing control of funds and fees in an upfront way in their own hands.

I'm wondering what's stopping people from using bitcoin?

And now I'm talking about people who already aware of bitcoin and how it works but still not using it.

The price is now pretty much stable for more then a year, security issues are out of the question - so why we can't see in 2015 more companies switching to it, especially considering the unstable condition of moden economy?
i just know that some of my friends stop using bitcoin because they feel hard to get and annoying when bitcoin price fall down, and i think its major problem for newbie to stop using bitcoin,

The most important thing that's stopping people from using bitcoin is what the media puts out about bitcoin. Whenever the media gets involved, it's always a negative thing what they say or write about bitcoin. This is not helping bitcoin at all.

I agree with you. It is the output of have they been telling people about bitcoin. And how it is used by different kinds if syndicate. But there will be a time that they wont even listen to them. Without trust with the government the media comes with that .We all now that those media are also controlled by the government.

That's correct media has played an very important role in spreading the negative publicity related to bitcoins and media has a great influence on the mindsets of the people they just get carried away with the news that is displayed my the media and also the government is not coming in the support of bitcoins, if bitcoin gets support from the government then it can be more popular.

I'm pretty sure one of the biggest problem is that is actually hard to buy bitcoins, for example with visa/mastercard, there are not many trusted websites that you can go and just buy bitcoins without first validating your account with id and bla bla. Localbitcoins is also a poor choice, again the same problems + insane prices compared to the market.

There is a lot of trusted exchange sites selling Bitcoin online like Localbitcoins, Coinbase, and so on.
But the problem this exchange sites don't offer their services worldwide usually and there is some payment methods (like Paypal for example) not available worldwide as well

What? I talked about localbitcoins, don't you read before posting? ''Localbitcoins is also a poor choice, again the same problems + insane prices compared to the market.'' You would pay way more for 1 bitcoin on localbitcoins than other exchanges. Don't you have to validate your account on coinbase first with credentials?
