Most people are not aware of it. Similarly most of the shopkeepers also do not know about this currency. So their are not much options to spend the bitcoins. For this reason, People tends to save the coins rather than spending it.
It's the fear of the unknown / uncertain and lack of knowledge about the bitcoin technology. It's a fairly new currency and people are still skeptical as to its stability. Maybe when the time comes that people are more aware and can see the advantages of using them, will bitcoin be a part of our daily lives.
It is now the governments are stopping their citizens from using bitcoin. Countries like Russia, Venzeulua and I even think some part in China since they are still under communist rule.
I would also think North Korea as they don't like western contact/influence.
Russia doesn't care iirc, Venezuela and China don't like it to my knowledge. I think the reasoning with China is that it allows for people to get their money out without being taxed, and the government is trying to reap those sweet $2/h min. wage taxes. I think the main factor that could be stopping people is the volatility of the price of bitcoin. Because the price is constantly changing, for better or worse, is the reason I would assume companies are hesitant.
Bitcoins are mostly used by everyone now a days and the only people who do not use or do not want to use it are worried about the technical details, do not we all know how difficult it is to understand BTC completely ?

As suggested bitcoin gives very fast earning as well a long time earning. It's completely upon us, we need to explain users the cause of quick earning. So better stay strong and give hope to the regular people.

Another thing which will stop people from using it is lack of opportunities to earn it.
I'm not talking about everyone ere who wants to get rich off of price rises, I'm talking about actually going out and providing something of value in return for Bitcoin.
There's plenty of ways to spend it, and a number which can provide decent discounts for its use, but if people can't get it easily, why would they go out of their way?

Yeah indeed to that many scammers are scattered everywhere and make an investment hyip site to scam people and thats other whats stopping people because they are afraid to lose money and dont want to stake in it. I think its impossible to stopped the people from using bitcoin if the price goes down the traders want it, if the price goes up the traders, miners, and collecting in faucet is happy so what reasong why they stopped using this? People will always keep ignoring it until they don't see some real merchants or markets or some other places using it.
Because electronic media has made a bad concept of bitcoin in their minds, so they just think that it is not something normal to be used by normal people.

I think the best way to promote it among the people is that we promote it locally in our own communities, we have to tell about it to our friends our family and people living in our neighbor, so with that bitcoin will be promoted with much faster speed.

People have fear of loosing their money by investing in digital currency as bitcoin is still new and majority of the people are not aware about it and they don't want to invest in new product.
