For me, back in 2017. Before the bull run started I was already introduced to Bitcoin, and it was also because of Facebook and internet friends also. Doing some airdrops before and participated on some activities with shitcoins but before that, I first used Bitcoin to do some tasks online and was paid with Bitcoin.

I'm really glad that I have known Bitcoin before, lot of things changed especially how I value freedom and privacy.

I cant remember when I really have discovered Bitcoin for the first time. Perhaps it was in a Funny subreddit, or somewhere on 9gag.com I came across some pictures. I knew it was "electronic money", that user gain after his GPU calculates "something".

But the month I got hooked up with cryptocurrency was January 2018. I was reading BMW related topic for years, and one guy in his car diary wrote, that he has sold it and bought Ripple. He was quite a good mechanic and it was really interesting to read his topic. To read how he fixes his car, upgrade, solving some issues, but after he had sold it, I got really disappointed, because I've been reading his car topic for ages (it was as popular as our Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion).

I felt sad until I saw new post from him. He has made another topic of his new car. It was brand new BMW X5 with full of extra. At first everyone did not believe him, because he has sold his 2001 BMW X5, and has bought 2018 BMW X5. That is a huge upgrade, and requires a lot of money.

Long story short, he has sold his old car and spent all the money on Ripple, when its price was below 1 cent. And has sold all of his Ripple, when the price reached about $2.3. He has bought a new car and two flats in a freshly built house. That was the time I google cryptocurrency, Bitcoin and registered on this forum.

I remember exactly how I first discover bitcoin, it was on our Local Forum where people talk about earning on the internet online. If you guys remember Hash-Ocean, one of the known scam cloud mining sites but have been operating for 2 or more years before they decided to disappear without a trace. I was thinking to invest but without getting anything out of my pocket so I decided to join multiple faucets back then and I was just about to invest, the site was closed at the same time, they ran away with the funds of the investors. There are lots of faucets back then, you can actually make money from out of nothing if you know what you are doing.

I am not going to talk about how I discovered Bitcoin, but how I could have earned quite a few at a time when it was still a relatively new concept. I had a few long-term file hosting accounts that I no longer had any use for so I decided to sell them. I found this guy from Asia who wanted to purchase the lot. This was back in 2010/2011. I don't remember the exact price that he paid for them but it was a relatively high three-digit number. Our initial deal was for him to pay me in Liberty Reserve. Just before he did, he asked if I wanted Bitcoin instead. My thoughts were no, I don't want that crap. It's funny how people change.

actually i discovered Bitcoin because of Bad reputation .

There was a group in facebook that i am with back in 2016 , we constantly sharing important information about things that might bring profits to each of us.

Then one member shared His bad experience about crypto(specifically Bitcoin) that he was a victim of a scam pyramiding until other members vouch with the same bad experience .

Then i ask about how this come and when it happens and after their explanation , i realized that this is not about the bitcoin but because of their greedy attitude.

this time i start surfing and look for where can i find more info and knowledge about this thing and until i found this forum , from there i start reading for months  before creating my Own account and start engaging in conversation in which i will benefit knowledge , so from there i start being part of the bounties and try investing small amount with my income from my participations in different sections here.

I knew about Bitcoin as early as 2012 or 2013 but didnt do anything, I was very
skeptical, I thought it was just some form of tokens for gamers., It wasnt until
January 2017 that I got into it with my brother.

The first time I heard about bitcoin was when I saw it on youtube, and at that time it was rare for youtube channels to talk about it, different from now. At that time I was not really interested in going deeper into it. A few years later, then a friend introduced him again, explaining what the advantages were if we were in it. After knowing the ins and outs of bitcoin, the knowledge that I got was extraordinary, not only knowledge about bitcoin, but I also got knowledge that is arguably more comprehensive.

So how about you, when and how did you discover bitcoin? What were your initial thoughts?  Did you think negatively of it at first discovery and change your mind, or did you always think it was a great idea?
If im not mistaken I already heard about Bitcoin year 2013 but didnt pay much attention to it because its not on my interest yet and thinking its just another thing online that will just passed.

Fast forward to 2015, that year im active participating on Fb investment (yes, those too good to be true offer) but got scammed many times. One of this investment I joined in required to have a Bitcoin wallet. Thats how we will going to send our pay in and receive the payout as well. Unfortunately it is also a scam investment, thats the time I became curious about bitcoin due to price fluctuation, one of my friend (a trader) teach me about Bitcoin and trading.

Looking back on the past im grateful that I had a chance to know Bitcoin. I cant count my earnings already after engaging myself on crypto thats how I get back what I lost on my past investments.

It was close friend of mine who introduced me to bitcoin and it was completely new term for me at that time but similar to other's I also did the same mistake and underestimate it or say ignored the concept without any investment and at that time was few dollars only but my bad luck.Slowly it gained momentum and i came across it once more so decided to dig deep about it and then realised my mistake.Invested few amounts then but sold some again for funds required but glad that i still hold some stash in it and will hold it for long term.

One thing that kind of drives me crazy is I don't remember exactly when or how I discovered bitcoin.  I know that it was either late 2013 or early 2014, but I can't specifically remember when or how.  I have a few email records from late 2014 which prove that I knew of bitcoin from back then, but they do not provide any clues as to how I discovered it.
but that's 7-8 years ago and yet you forgot? wondering How old are you now mate ,(just Joking lol)

well maybe those time you did not pay attention totally and just leave the scene for a while and then come back when you find interest ?

It was being presented by someone close to me and since this only happens 4-5 years ago , i can clearly remember all the details.

there was an Event in church that we are in break and talking about our future plans when he put Bitcoin in discussion and since then i find interest and starts learning (with His help of course)

I learned about bitcoin the hard way. Back in 2015, I was looking for work online, which was extremely difficult. In almost a year of searching for sources of income, I came across bitcoin. The hard way is that at the time, HYIPs were widely known, and I thought that was the only way to earn bitcoin at the time, so I invested, then got scammed, and I told myself to quit, but after a week, I was researching another method of earning, and I discovered trading, forums, and investing in ICOs, from which I earn much more money.

I got the information about bitcoin through a friend in the year 2016 but I didn't invest much of time learning bitcoin. But, was focused on earning bitcoin.
Few years later I discovered how important it was to hold a strong knowledge about bitcoin generally. How it works, the block chain technology and how people mine the forum.

I can't remember exactly the date but it was my friend who introduced me to Bitcoin but I wasn't that interested about it yet since I don't know what that is and how it works. So, I just let it fly as time pass by Bitcoin is slightly showing on the internet as I was surfing then I think that was the time I got interested about it. So, I asked my friend about it on how it would work, what are the process of gaining them and mining Bitcoin that time was the thing then after it was the faucet. I did try the faucet though but I'm tired of waiting so I just stopped.

Unlike you, I do remember when and exactly how I knew about Bitcoin and got involved in it. It was in late 2016 and I was doing a research for "TBC" coin and for some reason, there was more content on the forum than anywhere else - I Googled it and forum popped up as the top result. I read the content and the replies that followed. Loved the discussions and decided that this would be a good resource for crypto information and I was right about that.

Time flies so fast and I guess I'm getting old and have forgotten how exactly I knew bitcoin. Op, you're earlier than me when I've discovered bitcoin and that's also earlier before I'm in the forum. I guess everybody's entrance and discovery about bitcoin was because with our friend that's very curious to technologies and stuff online and that's why they've discovered and shared it to us, sort of like that the story I've got when I've been introduced to bitcoin.

Well that was during my college time and one of my classmates talked about it.
To be honest, I don't have an idea about bitcoin before and I asked my relatives and they said, it is not safe to invest or buy my money on bitcoin and that time, I was so curious and research about bitcoin. The first website that I have found is [Freebitco.in] which is a gambling site, it triggers the free that I have been researched. And next is the forum, which is I found and get interested in.
To cut the long story short, the bad image that I have heard about bitcoin was changed because I understand correctly how it will work, so that I conclude those who criticized bitcoin did not understand how it will work.

I've never thought negatively about bitcoin, but I'm excited to be able to have more of it, and the fact that from the very beginning I got to know bitcoin in 2010 until now bitcoin has taught me a lesson in holding back until it reaches a point that is more than enough for my initial capital, and I'm very grateful to my friend who gave me a link about this forum so I can get bitcoin for free
