I see a lot of people talking about when to sell; but I think that buying is as important if not more (obviously you buy* low -_-). so do you guys aim to buy the lowest low of the day/week/month/... and do you think that is riskier and/or hard to predict. do you wait for price reversals? do you follow expert advice?? please share your thoughts and your stories (successful or otherwise Smiley)

the right time to buy bitcoin is while bitcoin is in the dip, because most of the people are in panic because of the dip so they should sell their bitcoin just to think that they can cut their looses if they do that. and yeah. its hard to predict if you wait the price when its going to pump because we dont know the exact time/date if bitcoin is going to pump because of its unpredictable graph. then its up to you if you want to follow the advice of some expert.

It is difficult to determine when to buy because the Bitcoin market has a lot of surprises and prices fluctuate constantly. I think we have to wait for the bad news of Bitcoin and will buy a lot of altcoin at that time

Its up to you if you buy bitcoin or not. As of now the price of bitcoin continue to increase and thats the important of that the price grow up. But many people as of now have doubt because if they bitcoin today and the price decrease their money decrease. But I suggest dont wait more weeks if you have extra money now just now and maybe you will earn a lot of profit in the future.
Look at it from a wider perspective. If you're looking for long term holdig, today eould be a good time to buy since butcoin would probably be way beyond 5or 6k in a year or two. If you're for short term, better turn your sights to altcoins instead of btc

Right. If you are in for the long term, you can buy anytime you want, even today when with the current price. Look at it like 1-2 years from now. I'm sure that you can make at least x2 of your initial investment. But if you are in for the short term, then its not a good buying point. Wait for it to go low and buy at discounted price. So there's two side of the traders here, you have to decide what fits your budget or your need. Both has its advantage and disadvantage. But in the end, you are in the winning side because bitcoin price will really take off in the future.

Yes, many people sold altcoins to buy bitcoins to get bitcoin gold so you can start buying some good altcoins to make a good profit in short term.

My experience never waits for up to a week / month, if today when bitcoin drops even if only a little bit I buy, or if bitcoin goes up right now I sell it even though it gets a bit of profit.

Congratulations, you've just earned yourself some pocket change with your method. If you are looking to take advantage from the slightest increase or decrease, you should do that with very large amounts -- only then will such practices earn you a decent bit of profit. Most people here don't have anything close to a serious starting capital (i.e. +$100,000), and thus should stick to a slower form of trading. If you have to wait a week or two, then so be it. No need to rush things, and there is no need to overestimate yourself -- understand and respect your limitations.

Might sound crazy to many professional traders, though I normally buy against the market which means that when the price of the coin is going down steadily I buy into it and hold it till the price recovers or starts to grow. But the major reason behind that is that I only buy those coins, which I believe in. So that's a really risky and unprofessional strategy, which works fine for me... Though you might have your own opinion on the issue and I hope that I'll be able to trade perfectly with the market)))

Nobody tell you concrete time to buy. You need to investigate by yourself when the coin is deep and when good news are coming so you could sell it hight. Because news are playing perhaps the most important role in cryptocurrency trading.

do you follow expert advice??

yes

i take courses in technical analysis, basic economics, read many bitcoin news sites, read success stories of great  traders.
something I always remember:

" Exercising discipline in terms of losses and goals is the best way to manage greed and fear. Placing loss claims and profit targets immediately upon entry into each trade is a good habit to acquire. "

it takes a lot of study time to develop a good trading plan

If you are a short time trader it could be hard to predict if the price is lower than the previous time because sometimes the fluctuation is unpredictable. So, the better you do is to buy/sell but not all in so you will still have the chance to buy if the price will still gonna go down deeper. This is also applies to long term trader and the only difference with them is the capital they buy or sell. Usually long term trader earning more coins, it's just like all in but not really because they really a huge capital for it unlike for short term trader.

buy when its absolute fear, when "blood is on the streets", when charts bleed. Sell when people are euphoric.
I agree. Best moment to buy bitcoins or nay other currency is when people are afraid that bitcoin might "die" so they sell them for cheaper and cheaper, this way price falls really fast so you can get them for less. I wouldn't recommend you to sell unless you need money though, it is better to keep them for more time like few years.

I think you should buy at a relatively low price when it is more or less stabilized, or buy when the price is aggressively rising.

I buy on a regular basis and my average buying price is always pretty good. You can never catch the bottom of retracement/dip, so I don't really worry about few dollars/pennies. I invest in the coins I trust and all my holdings are long term.

I usually try to buy at the lowest price in 24 hours (if it's possible). but if the lowest price within 24 hours is just a short dump then I will refrain from buying and looking for more information.
