it depends on the strategy you have buddy. when is the right time to buy it, whether it's when it's down 15%, or when it's down 30%.
Personally, if I aim to own a coin, then I will continue to invest no matter what the price is at that time. this strategy I have I did on ethereum when the price was still quite cheap. and when the price is high enough, I already have enough ethereum.
well, many people say that anytime is the right time to invest, but it all comes down to how you manage it. If you believe the price will drop by 30% then you need to wait for it with the risk that when the price goes up, you will be late. however, if you don't mind it for now, even now you can do it.

At one point or the other, we all need to buy bitcoin, but when do you actually buy it? or when is the best moment to buy bitcoin?

each person has its own strategy, for example you can expect the price to fall a lot like now, then do a technical analysis and see if the price is consolidating in an important support in order to gain momentum to reverse the price and start rising, at this time of accumulation you can buy, even if you want to buy to make long term hodl it is important to do technical analysis and buy as low as possible.

I'll give you an example with the current scenario:

- you can expect the price to fall below $52500 and you would buy at $47000, $44000 or $39000, then you would buy at $37000, and then at $32000 and then at $29500. always buy from important supports with every drop, even if you want to hodl for the long term.

If you do not buy at present, and wait for more dip, you will just keep on waiting and will never be able to buy.

Very reasonable, Bitcoin will no longer be bought if you continuously waiting for the correction. because no one knows where Actual Dip is. And just being in the mood for catching the lowest Dip , also affects the daily work. It is best not to wait too much for the Dip and everyone should buy Bitcoin instantly whenever the opportunity arises. If the amount is high then DCA investment strategy can be applied, but losing time with anxiety for "Dip" seems foolish to me. The main concern here is that no matter what the buying price is, it can never be sold at a Loss, you have to wait for ATH and be patient to hold on until profit is made.

Lots of ways and theories to buy Bitcoin, DCA and BTD are popular and very worthwhile
options. Buying low and then Selling at the highs are great if you are experienced in
trading and can do your own market analysis, otherwise its a guessing game and
you can lose Bitcoin.

What I have done to date is:

Cut out buying stuff you dont need and use those funds to buy BTC

Sell stuff you dont use and buy BTC

Borrow FIAT to buy BTC (this is only viable IMO at strategic times, like just after a halving)

BTD and DCA

Waiting for the right moment when buying bitcoins is crucial for your profit in the future because when you are about to buy bitcoin at its ATH, you only have a lower probability to get some profit from it. Now if we wait for the price to decrease, you also need to timing when will it stop decreasing in order to assure that you will get the maximum profit when the price is starting to rise again. That's how simple it works but the volatility is still there so be careful when you invest, use only the money that you won't care to lose when the market is not going the way you want it.

I'm not thinking of buying and selling again just because of volatile market conditions.
I buy bitcoins whenever I want. and do not look at the price and market situation. because I believe in bitcoin for future assets that I will own for a long time.
in contrast to altcoins, which I trade more frequently and invest in the medium term. It's not that I don't believe in altcoins, but I make a short-term investment plan and the trades I do are only for altcoins.
I bought bitcoin in 2018. and I still keep it without subtraction or addition. not a huge amount, but I am very committed to my investment in bitcoin.
while what I earn from the campaign I will spin it for short trades. sometimes it runs out on a gambling site  Cheesy

Indeed Bitcoin is very good for long-term investment, so we can buy Bitcoin at any price, the most important thing is that we buy Bitcoin regularly.
This means that we can buy Bitcoin every month from some of the income we get. If we can consistently buy Bitcoin every month and do it for up
to 3-5 years. I believe when Bitcoin goes up in price it can make us make big profits. But it is very difficult to hold Bitcoin for the long term,
because often we have an urgent need and require to sell the Bitcoins that we have collected. That's why it's important to find extra income,
so that we can save for urgent needs and not interfere with money for investing in Bitcoin.

I was asked exactly this question by my next door neighbor, that know I am into crypto as we hang out from time to time and since he is IT guy, that topic eventually popped up.

Since he has regular income and decent salary but not much money saved as he had some big expenses recently, I suggested him to start buying bitcoin using dollar cost average method, investing basically as  much as he can afford without cutting something important. In the end he decided to invest like 100 euro on the bi-weekly basis. Worst of all, we had exactly the same convo like year and half ago when I told him to start slowly using DCA method, but many like him though that it's too late now (back then BTC was around $10k).

Haha. I think this is the most frequently asked question for us. I am in crypto since 2013. But most of the time I didn't HOLD my coins. I regret this. I don't know what is Dollar-cost average method is. But, As I mentioned before, I do this to buy BTC,

Quote
Well, here are the tricks that I've followed. If you want to buy $100 worth of BTC. Wait for a deep. If you see a dip, don't go all in. You can buy $30 worth of BTC. If it pumps, waits for a correction. If it deeps further buy more than $30 worth of BTC. Repeat the same process as long as you want to buy.

Here are another Tips, never sell in the loss. Suppose you bought some BTC on its All-time high. Don't panic and don't sell until it makes another All-time high.

Usually, I follow these steps. Don't go all in. Neither for cash out. Suppose you bought BTC at $50K. BTC hit its another all-time high of $80K Don't sell 100% of your portfolio to gain as much profit as possible. Who knows? It could hit another all-time high. Always buy partial amount, and sell partial amount. Never go for all in.

Here, $100 is just an example number. I am mining ETH With my 180 Mhs tiny rigs and turning it into BTC every week. IDK How long I will do this. But I follow a few quotes by others like "Never sell on loss. HODL until your coin makes a profit" Another is, "Sell when everyone buying on peak, And Buy when everyone selling on Dip" My friends are always curious about WTF I am doing with Bitcoin. They just know that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that can be used for gambling. that's it. my country doesn't support crypto payment yet. So, I frequently was asked that question.

Right now I don't think too much about buy bitcoin, and the mathematics of holding on a buying Bitcoin in the dip and all that, I just right now want to have every penny make to be in Bitcoin if it's possible, I think if we all can earn in Bitcoin from now in less than five years we should have an adoption, you can get straight forward answers on google, online or here, but the intentions/expectations when buy bitcoin like that may not be the outcome, and trust me you may never adopt/accept crypto-currency anymore.

Thats the most popular strategy and answer, Buy Low Sell High .
This is prolly a strategy that has worked for many investors for quite a long time now, but mind you that most times, especially with good coins, you could be waiting for a dump in order to buy, but during that time, the coin keeps appreciating and you could have made profits if you had bought earlier, that's the reason why when I'm asked such as question as this, I usually try to know the coin it is that the investor actually wants to put some of his or her money into, if it's a pump and dump/lottery coin, then never buy it when the price is high, cause that could be the end of the pump, and it starts to dump immediately you buy, causing you losses, but if it's a coin that has an actual use case and after your research, you're sure it's going to be around for the long term, then you can buy low or high, it really doesn't matter, so long as you've made up your mind to hodl for the long period/time.

To buy bitcoin at this time we have to spend quite a lot of capital, then the best way to get bitcoin of course we have to follow the reward that pays by using bitcoin, and we can also collect from investing in altcoins that have the potential and profits that we get directly we make bitcoin as a future asset, then in this case we need a long time, But if we have more savings in everyday life then it never hurts to buy bitcoin as a future asset.

Honestly, it is difficult to predict when it will be a benificial dip especially if you are new to trading. I still have those panic events where I targeted a percentile and bought some and it continued to dip. I was like damn, should have waited a bit more. But hey, patience what we need. Just manage the rest.

I usually buy any crypto currency when the value is low as like other do yes. But as market is volatile, we may not buy the concern coin at the value we placed the trade for. So, have cancelled buy orders many times and have bought for the price which was available at the time I bought. Many say, do not wait for price to go down to buy when its a best crypto coin. Just buy it at any time so that we do not miss it if the price goes up.
This is good action to do since buying at the dump is best decision to be made by traders since if we buy at the top and suddenly the dump came then provably we will go crazy especially if we don't have any experience. But if we cannot avoid this since we are new then maybe let this be a good reminder that never buy if many people hype bitcoin although sometimes there are instance that we can earn but for sure this is for short term only.

I still believe in Buying when the market is falling and selling when the market Bumped.

But previously i stopped buying and selling instead i focus in Holding , as i bought my coins almost half of the price now so basically i am in profit?
but No i will keep the holding till the time i decided to sell and that is 3 years from now.

The thing is that it depends on you, and what strategy actually works for you, imo, I believe Bitcoin to be a long term project that even if its price plunges, it would still rise back up again, thus if you're a long term investor, everytime is a good time to buy Bitcoin, you can decide to buy gradually at intervals, or buy a large amount all at once, that depends on your financial capability.

Well, if you're new to the network and you prolly can't handle too much pressure as a result of volatility, you can buy when there is a fall in the price/dip, cause most times when newcomers buy when the price is up, they tend to sell out of panic when there is a correction period. Having said that, just do your research generally about the network, highlighting what strategy actually works/suit you, do not hastily copy the strategy of others, it could be unsuitable when you apply it to your investment.

You look too much confused and due to this you will never be able to invest. First you should invest come portion of your money in bitcoin and do can do DCA also if it comes down.
Some portion may be invested in the altcoins and you can use the profit from the alts to buy more bitcoins.

If you do not buy at present, and wait for more dip, you will just keep on waiting and will never be able to buy.

Buying the dip during a bull market is different than buying the dip during a bear market. It dips 1 to 3 times in a bull market vs it dips 3 to 6 times during a bear market. The numbers aren't exactly this is just an estimate from what I seen.

In bear markets dip are of longer duration as compared to dips in bull market. For instance see current market, dips are only for few days before market regains the momentum. So we can't compare bear and bull market dips equally. Buying when everyone fears to buy ( as quoted by Warren buffet) is the best strategy.

The decline in the bear market is longer because the trend is a downtrend, so the price increase that occurs is only a price correction and after that there will be a deeper decline. lucky traders are those who invest and get prices in the trend reversal area, so that more profits will be made
