At one point or the other, we all need to buy bitcoin, but when do you actually buy it? or when is the best moment to buy bitcoin?

For example, should I save some cash to but bitcoin when there's a 0 -15% dip? or should I wait till there's a major drop of >30%?

Is DCA the only way to buy bitcoin? What if I invest in an altcoin that booms and then take profit from it to buy more bitcoin?

What is your strategy to buy bitcoin?

You can buy it at any point that you want. It's not only when it dips from 1%-15% or up to 30%. Any price that you think is a good buy, you should buy. The point of setting a price is the plan of being long in bitcoin. These drops are just mere points because you have a higher price to sell in the future. DCA is actually a good metric upon buying so that you won't miss every point of the drop. You buy every drop and buy as much as you can, that's the point because you're long term and you're going to sell higher than the price you've bought it.

Buying the dip during a bull market is different than buying the dip during a bear market. It dips 1 to 3 times in a bull market vs it dips 3 to 6 times during a bear market. The numbers aren't exactly this is just an estimate from what I seen.

In bear markets dip are of longer duration as compared to dips in bull market. For instance see current market, dips are only for few days before market regains the momentum. So we can't compare bear and bull market dips equally. Buying when everyone fears to buy ( as quoted by Warren buffet) is the best strategy.

THIS....

you must save more money while expecting the DIP so when it comes you can buy what ever or how much you wanted.

Bitcoin is the safest currency you can invest so best to be ready or be sad sooner.

Well, here are the tricks that I've followed. If you want to buy $100 worth of BTC. Wait for a deep. If you see a dip, don't go all in. You can buy $30 worth of BTC. If it pumps, waits for a correction. If it deeps further buy more than $30 worth of BTC. Repeat the same process as long as you want to buy.

Here are another Tips, never sell in the loss. Suppose you bought some BTC on its All-time high. Don't panic and don't sell until it makes another All-time high.

Usually, I follow these steps. Don't go all in. Neither for cash out. Suppose you bought BTC at $50K. BTC hit its another all-time high of $80K Don't sell 100% of your portfolio to gain as much profit as possible. Who knows? It could hit another all-time high. Always buy partial amount, and sell partial amount. Never go for all in.

Hmm, Watching The dip without money hurts most.

It may be true in current market that if you buy at ATH then you may wait for next ATH, as we are seeing ATH at regular intervals. But those who buy at ATH in 2017 have no other option but to sell in loss or wait for indefinite period of time. My strategy is not to buy at ATH or when coins are at there peak.

You could buy btc or not as this all depends upon your wish and how your want to utilize your funds and it's totally optional to invest in btc depending on your preferences.

No DCA is one of the best way to invest in bitcoin as you have $200 to invest and you could invest them proportionally over time which could help you to accumulate more as you buy them at different prices and it is opted by many investors.

Taking profits from altcoins is very difficult because most of them don't have any but simply go for Bitcoin and take profits from it only by holding for some time and that's best.

You must save of course so you will always ready when to buy, looking for 15% deep is just like buying instantly so try to buy when you feel
like market will start to Bump.

If you are good in finding a Altcoin that will Boom then why asking those question here? why need to buy bitcoin if you can manage
to make money in altcoins? looks like contradicting .

No you don't "need to" buy bitcoin!

Quote
but when do you actually buy it? or when is the best moment to buy bitcoin?
Short answer: whenever you have some extra money laying around.

Quote
For example, should I save some cash to but bitcoin when there's a 0 -15% dip? or should I wait till there's a major drop of >30%?
It depend on whether you are buying bitcoin with a long term view or you are just day trading for short term profits.
If it is the former then you shouldn't concern yourself with "dips" that much even though it is preferable to do. The problem is that you may keep waiting for a >30% dip while price keeps going up so you end up not buying at for example $3200 while you watch the price reach $7000 then decide to buy!

If it is the later then you want to always wait for the best entry point because you would also exit soon after (to get the profit out as a day trader). But that requires a lot of market analysis and the size of the dip depends on market situation, it is not going to be a fixed number.

Normally you don't buy altcoins with money, you buy them with bitcoin and also normally when you want to dump them and get out you convert them back to bitcoin directly.
This way you avoid additional exchange or even withdrawal fees.

What is your strategy to buy bitcoin?

The last time I bought it was around 2016. After that I tried to double it by trading. Until now I no longer buy it, even I still continue to try to multiply it by utilizing its fotality. Even now if I have large funds maybe I will leave immediately, after that I will increase the amount continuously.
But if you are not sure then you need to learn to analyst, maybe you will get a lot of BTC if you buy at a lower price. You can also pay attention to the BTC cycle to buy in the dip positions.

I buy when I feel that is a dip. I sell when I have profit. That's how I deal with Bitcoin. But the question is where is the dip will exist forever. We don't have an answer to this question. But should remember, we can't expect to buy an exact dip. Only a few lucky traders would do that since we failed to determine the dip. Here we have to take the real-time decision based on our previous experience. But sadly when I take an entry, Bitcoin starts to dump more from that point LOL. So automatically I become a holder.

The most important is to invest that you can afford the loss. Because we don't know when the price will bump again, up to when we have to wait and hold. So during holding, you should manage your daily needs without selling Bitcoin. Otherwise, if you have to sell it in emergencies, means you have to lose your capital.

If that is about when to buy bitcoin, it will depend on your plan because some traders will start to buy bitcoin when the price is down by more than 1% and wait for a while and sell it when the price increases than the price he bought to take profit. If you want to hold your bitcoin, you can buy at any low price and hold it but it is better to buy at the dip and that is really difficult to know when the dip is coming. It needs more practice to know when the dip comes and more things in analysis to determine it.

If the price is at $54,300 and then the price is down for $$53,800, you can set your buy price at $53,500-$53,750 depending on where the trend will go. You can place some order buy and wait until your order is filled. If the price starts to bounce after reaching $53,600 and back to $54,500, then you are making a profit. But that will not always be like that since we know that the bitcoin movement is too volatile.

The main thing is that you have money and Surely we are all familiar with #BuytheDip that is heard on almost all social media today.
Buy dips to maximize profits when prices rise again. everyone has their own speculation and analysis if you believe bitcoin will drop to >30% then go ahead.

Yes DCA is one of the best ways to get BTC. But you may try selling when it goes to the ATH and then back to DCA again when it hits the bottom. Although you may see it will disappoint you when the price continues to rocket after you sell, you can still go back to DCA as you wait for another dip. Buying at every dip is effective since the BTC is proven to spike every time.

It will run your patience out when we are in the bear market though. Unless you don't have any other funds and spend it. When you are out of the loop, you will need another fund to get in that's hard to do than finding a job.

In the past buying a dip, dcaing or just putting all in at once have all been successful in the past.

It might not be wise to put too much in anyway but to scope of the market it might be easier to analyse.

Most investments depend on when you'll get the money as to when you'll invest it - for most assets, buying the dips can net higher returns than dcaing but take more tracking/watching to do.
