Sometimes checking the movement of an alt coin in the chart gives me a hint to sell my alt coins, sometimes there is a pattern when to sell for example Banca, Before they release the weekly updates price usually pumping hard and then the day of the release price starts going down again. So i am selling my tokens before the day they release the new updates or announcement.
You should have a goal, either daily, weekly or monthly on the profit you want to make. If you already reached your goal then sell your coins and next day you start again with another goal. It is very important to have a plan that you strictly follow. You buy only certain type of coins that respect your criterias and you hold them as long as you have to in order to make profit. I think is very important to know how to read the charts because this way you can make an opinion about the evolution of the price. If you don't know how to do that you can follow traders that are posting their opinions everyday about the market
you should sell your Altcoins if the price is above your ICO price it is greed for keeping it for so much gain,even when the price is five times more what they buy so investors are still holding
I usually sell altcoin when I have a profit of 10-20%. I do not greed. I make sure everything. I do not lose money. That is my principle.
I will sell my coins when i need it only. If not i will just keep my coins and just look at the fluctuation. But when the price rise until my expecting price, then i will also sell it.

Bounty tokens you can sell it whenever you want because you will not lose your money and my advice is whenever you finish your bounty camping and when that token list in any exchange sell it don't wait for a long time, most of the coins price will drop after finishing bounty campaign. whatever coins you will buy with your money those coins never sell it for loss wait for a good time and sell it for profit. 
Set limits for when you'd sell. Also, don't liquidate all your holdings in that coin. Keep a few hundred or thousand and if the coin truly becomes the next big thing that will be enough. It doesn't matter if you sell a majority at 410% if you keep some and it later goes to 1,000%+.

When do you know its time to sell your altcoins? The time to sell altcoins is when the market time is rising with big and expensive and definitely its colored green and its graphics rise to the top with a height that's the right time to sell altcoins.
usually i sell my altcoins when the price already 2x from the buy price.

Generally, if I gain more than 20% , I get shocked and immediately take the money and invest in some other altcoin which has not increased recently or but BTC or ETH with the money.

When you reach 100% profit on holding basically it's time to sell it because profit is a profit. Don't always expect big gains if you want to earn more on crypto. That is my strategy on making profit on altcoins. But if you're busy then just buy and hold at long term coin and hold it for months or year.
When selling a Altcoin it is impossible to know when the right time. The coin you sell may always exceed the value you sell, or every coin you buy may be slightly lower. My motivation is always to increase the amount of Bitcoin available. Never in that, I do not look at the price of any of them in USD. I always think the more Bitcoin is, the better.
In doing so, my thought is always to determine the price of a coin I bought. This applies in both cases. Though the price goes down, it rises like this. For example I bought Ethereum. I sell Ethereum, which I bought as 0.07 BTC, if my sales target is 0.08. I do not expect to get any more. There will always be another opportunity.

Of course when the market price is terribly high it is the perfect time to sell your altcoins and on the contrary when price is very low just hold your coins, but you have to know everyday the movement of the market price always get an update.
There is no specific point of buying or selling alts.
What I do > After doing much research once I decide an Alt and if I trust it, I will keep buying a portion if their are any dips. This makes me comfortable and gives me a good entry.

Selling coins is all depend on the holder if they want it to sell it the right time or in the time were market is high to earned big. It must also, to be sell some in the high price and hold also some of it for the future. But in the time it is badly needed we cant hold it but to sell and likewise if there are more hold some for the future.
I think we agree that the best time to sell our altcoin is when the price reaches the highest price and we can take the big profit from this. and we can choose to sell all in or just to sell some amount to take that profit because we still have a different strategy when we see the highest price. but maybe some of us is not selling their coins for a long time period and if it is just increasing more than 50%, they won't sell it because they want a bigger profit in the future.
I know it is the right time to sell my altcoins when the prices hit the target that I have set for them and once they get there, there is nothing that will stop me from selling them. I just sell them, take out my profit and then wait for the market prices to go down again until I can buy more coins which I do and I just repeat that cycle over and over again and it works for me.
