Me personally, I don't have any formula as to when to sell. All I do is take profits when ever I'm in profit and I try not to get too greedy because most times greed makes us lose our potential profits and turns us into bagholders. If it's in a trade, try taking out your capital first then leave the profit to run for a while and keep taking profits from it time after time.

Just wondering if ya'll have a typical formula you go by or a certain X percentage profit or loss.

I've been playing around with coins for just under a month now. $23750 total investment and currently up just under 10k in profit. One of the coins (IOTA) has gone up about 288%.  Obviously it would suck if it crashed but it would equally suck to sell if it continues to grow.

Just wondering what a lot of you folks do. I'm considering investing another 25 or 50k into coins. Ideally I'd like to net 15k a month off them but I know that may not be realistic on a monthly basis.

I usually wait for the coin to reach a 25% growth, and then sell it and look for another coin at an attractive price or in a period of failure. But this is my personal vision.
i decide to sell my coin when the time that my beloved coin are in the rising rate and the price percentage is at 30% high than my investment. we can't sell our coins if we know that it only like an small amount of earnings as much as possible we want an high profit right? so when the target price is reached i don't think about how if the price is still rising. i have contentment it is okay for me to earn like an exact but not greed because sometimes it lead to accident

If anyone is going to sell coins, the best time is when the price is high, if the price is low there is no sense to sell.

It all depends on your greed, I think that today there are a lot of moments when people just very much regret that they still sold their tokens very early or on the contrary very late, but such situations should be, because if no one makes mistakes, then we simply will not have the opportunity to receive money.

It is hardly possible to say exactly when it is best to sell your coins. But usually I keep the coin until it reaches about 50% of the profit or lose 80% of the cost.

everyone will surely be looking for a big profit, then definitely by buying the lowest price and will sell at a high price.

You look for profit and accidentally notice that the altcoin you are holding increased its value buy 30% in the last 24 hours. One will estimate that its the best time to sell as this might be some pumping and before it gets finish one should sell and run. But what if coin rises to 300% in one month. Such rise in the price was not expected by the holder and now he will cruse himself for selling before the right time arrived.

This is a small instance just to show that market is not dominated by personal wish, things are wild and can take any turn. One should only invest the amount which he is ready to loss.

Coins that I bought on the bounty, I sell when their price grows 3 times. Altcoins from the top 50, bought once and expect their growth of 30-40 times over several years
not all tokens have a good price, its for some tokens. I sell tokens that I get from bounty when the price is above the ICO's price,  in my opinion it was good decision.
because we also can't predict All Time High from a token. altcoin that I hold for years is only ethereum

I also feel the same way as you, I am currently confused whether I should sell the altcoin from the bounty I received or I held it for a while to monitor them through the roadmaps. maybe I would think of selling 50% and holding half of it.

I do not think about selling. the market has corrected itself. I think it will proceed in this way. I only sell to build the infrastructure of another project. again for investment.

only one answer to your question is to sell it when the price reaches a profit of over 25%. and if I get stuck in a drop then I will hold it, if possible then I will try to buy again on the base.

Basically it's intuition then a fundamental analysis and a sense of excitement because if a person is passionate, it is unlikely he will achieve great success in trading  Smiley

I would not tie the growth of a coin to months, it's uncomfortable. How can you predict the income in a month, if at a major fall you will go into negative. And in another month, your income will be 300%?

I usually set a goal for how much I want to make, any coin that gets a 50% increase from my buying price gets my attention and i watch regularly till I feel it may drop again or just sell at the 100% margin mark and reinvest.

I know the right time to sell my altcoin is when the price increases by 30% or more of the price I bought it.
