Yes it has to been taken as fun because in a profession you want to outshine or be better than colleagues which may be deliberate attempt and if you adopt that kind of professionalism with gambling, you will fail.

Gambling is a game but involves staking of money which changes the way it should be perceived.
Make gambling fun just as a game you play and you see more winning because you are relaxed and likely to record wins. On the contrary, if you are seeing it as profession, you will put a lot of pressure on yourself. Gambling is not to be seen as source of regular income to avoid pressure.

Is there a strategy when you are betting on a football game? I guess strategy will not work if you have a lack of information, but yes, I guess luck will applicable but not all the time luck will be with you. In sports betting, you need to have study and research what is the weakness of each team and it will be followed what have mentioned by the OP, I don't call it a summary because that is too long to read but if you have one principle in your mind in betting and limit your self, you are fine.

However, betting in a sports game like football, it is very exciting to have the result, and while waiting it makes your tense to watch the while hoping that your team had picked will win.

Not just football but any sport if you are gambling with an intention to make money then more often you will fall flat and the worst thing is that you get frustrated and feel like you need to cover the loss in the next bet which ultimately starts the never ending recovery process of a gambler and the recovery gets bigger and bigger to the stage where you are desperate to stop but can't.

As far as gambling for fun goes and since money is involved, I think betting on dogs in some sports is worth it and one such sport is UFC because I have been following the sport since a few months and apart from a few upsets, there are hardly any big underdog wins.

I don't have much experience with soccer apart from betting on random matches at times although one thing I have seen is that the over x.5 market is more favorable than the under market.

For me the best time to gamble is during world cups or other international tournaments. During these large tournaments there is normally a lot of more demand for betting on football there is during normal times when we only have the national leagues playing. In my opinion if we have more people betting than most of them are no experts or usually don't spend much time researching the proper odds for their team winning. Also there is a strong national bias in place, since most people are going to bet for their own country during the world cup, no matter the odds. I find that we take advantage of these outliers and bet against some of the bigger countries which are not as strong as they think they are in football. Just because they have a lot of people betting on them, doesn't mean they are more likely to win the cup.

For sports betting, bet only on the team and sports you are familiar with. I am more of e-sports betting and am well familiar with the teams and their players, especially in DOTA2. The same goes with sports, if you don't know the game and the team you are just pushing your luck. This also applies in any betting game, know the game before betting.

It will be fun if we do with friends while we gamble and watch the match together. That can make pleasure for us because we can enjoy the game without thinking about winning or lose. gambling is unpredictable but its possible to have it as a profession .
we have professional poker players , professional baccarat players and other professional gamblers in different games. gambling as profession is enjoyable and fun .
professionals do enjoy thier jobs because they dont mind loosing , pros have sponsorships in return of advertising the company that sponsors them . im not a pro gambler and i dont have an ambition to be a part of that circle .
i only gamble for fun .
