I am also one of those who believes that gambling is a form of "entertainment" and should be treated as such.
Taking into account the odds of winning, wins that actually manage to change lifestyle are very rare (despite being advertised everywhere for a long time).

There is an excellent tool posted some time ago here on the forum that allowed you to calculate how long it would take to guess a win in powerball or similar games. The results are impressive  Shocked

I only gamble for a little bit of fun, because I know that it is almost impossible to make money gambling. I think a good solution is to bet with little money when gambling. If you bet on average the cost of a cup of coffee per day, you won't get upset when you lose and you will continue to enjoy your betting habit. If you push your limits and bet more money than you can afford to lose, you will definitely lose in the end. I think everything is in our hands. That's why I don't have any prejudice against gambling.

Can you, however, take away "money, money, money" from gambling? In general, you remove money away from gambling, it's not gambling anymore. That bet is exciting primarily because that could mean a bigger money. Whether we like it or not, the thing that makes gambling interesting is money, the prospect of making money in particular.

Although I certainly agree that gambling is a form of entertainment, money makes it so. Will you be playing hours and hours in casinos if their games don't involve money? I guess I wouldn't. Imagine yourself spending hours in that boring slot machine and it doesn't give you the chance of making money.

I believe that most people end up messing themselves up with gambling because to them everything is money, money, money, and this can stop your brain from becoming a responsible gambler, the sense of protecting yourself from gambling addiction can get lost if you are already not having fun with gambling anymore.

What will you think if you bet and you end up tripling your bet? You'll think that you are good at this and that easy money for you and you end up thinking about how to make money instead of having fun, this is where the fun stops and you start looking for methods and ways to make money in gambling, especially when you see people posting what they've earned through gambling, and you think that your chances are the same like these people.

The worst part of this is you cannot stop because your mind tells you that the winner never quits and while you're looking to make money from gambling you discover that you have fun while gambling you are more excited chasing money than looking to have fun, this is where addiction starts,  you have more fun trying to make money from gambling.

Some people already feel like they are not having fun, because what they have in mind is making money, to all people that feels this way, If you feel like you aren't having fun I believe for the greater good, it's better to take a break from gambling and do something else.

Agree on this part especially when I’m on losing streak. Gambling supposed to be use as source of entertainment but it’s very to have fun if you experience a series of bad luck on gambling worst is losing big time.

Gambling is only fun activity if you are winning more than losing. It’s very hard to get entertainment or to be entertained whenever you are losing money since profit makes gambling exciting or else this is just a normal game that we download on play store or appstore that doesn’t involve money.

Online gambling platforms exists not only to get you some lucky wins, it's also another form of entertainment,  but I will like to ask if truly you people are getting that entertainment from gambling?

It's because people finds gambling fun to do makes them to afford using their money to bet, we have a alrge number of gamblers who don't mind using any amount to gamble either they win or loose, for the sake of those that finds displeasure in not winning when they gamble, they maybe depends on it for their financial source or has something obligated on them for a win.

Some people already feel like they are not having fun, because what they have in mind is making money, to all people that feels this way, If you feel like you aren't having fun I believe for the greater good, it's better to take a break from gambling and do something else.

What could one be still waiting for anymore when gambling is no more fun to them, it is better not to gamble at all, also, some people would have engage on loan to use in gambling or misappropriate other people's finances in their care for gambling, knowing that they have nothing to fall back on, such people will definitely see gambling as frustration and not with fun as for that period.

For gambling, usually, only two things are necessary, and they should be abundant - time and money. In every society, there are those who have this lucky combination so that they can enjoy gambling. But it's mostly an individual matter. For some, gambling will be fun and a form of entertainment even if they lose thousands of dollars a month, while for others, it will stop being fun after losing just a hundred dollars or less. But, I don't think gambling stops being fun if we start thinking about money. Entertainment usually costs money, and gambling is one of the few forms that can give you a chance to win.

It's their own fault for thinking gambling isn't for fun and they shouldn't gamble at all, remember gambling is a choice and no one force anyone to gamble.

Fun in gambling will never stop, if it's stop usually it's because you've spend a lot time for gambling only for gambling, it's not mean you're an addict because you're gamble using amount you can afford to lose.

Do you agree or disagree?

Once you win big money, your mindset changes from wanting to have fun to trying to make money and we can't blame people, they feel they can repeat the process they feel they got the idea and the method and they have to do it and they have a chance to make money more than what they are earning on their work.

That is why there are people who play money more than they can't afford to lose because there's that hope that they can win big and it's only a matter of time before, they keep insisting that they are very near to winning the big amount so the fun stops and the challenge begin.

We can see what the world is becoming now, things are getting harder and what's on peoples mind is how to make even more money, there is no time, there are too many responsibilities,  are you sure you getting entertained?

The fun of gambling will disappear when you don't see it as a fun activity, when you start to see it as a way to make money you will hate the bad side of it. When you take gambling for the entertainment purpose, trust me you will find a way to quickly forget any bad encounter that you face. For instance, you earn $1000 a week as an average salary and then from that amount, you remove $50 from it to gamble for that week and you lose, some people may feel it depending on how heavy your bills are but how do you think it's going to feel if you use $500 from the weekly wages to bet, you will definitely feel the pain. In essence, gamble with what you can afford to lose, that is the only way you can see gambling being fun.

As for hardship, I think it would be absurd to think that gambling is an opportunity to make passive income to feed and pay bills. It is not a place to make money daily, anyone who depends on it to increase their income will end up disappointed at the end of the day. Look for a normal job to uplift your bills and treat gambling as it should.

Everything will go to addiction if you overthink to much on many things that hard to achieve especially a profit always on casino games. This can rise up our wants to do excessive gambling if we push to hard without thinking the consequences of the actions we do.
This is how addiction starts and I think this became normal when we are new but once we gain experience from facing those heart stopping lose for sure this could change addiction to be a careful betting stints.

So you are coming up with the assumption that the gambling addicts aren't having fun, because they think about money? I can't agree.
AFAIK, gambling addicts are having fun while gambling. I have never seen a gambling addict, who looks and feels miserable, while he gambles.
Gambling is always fun, it doesn't matter if you are a moderate gambler or a hardcore addict. The problem is how do you control your gambling behavior and do you have any control whatsoever. Drug addiction is also fun, but the drug addicts don't realize that their life and their health condition is slowly turning into ruins.

Yes. It's the different emotions that come out which is the big reason why it becomes more entertaining. The fun when you hit the big multi-win and the stressful losses that will make you mad.  Cheesy

We can see what the world is becoming now, things are getting harder and what's on peoples mind is how to make even more money, there is no time, there are too many responsibilities,  are you sure you getting entertained?
Still a yes. That's because I am not using too much money for it. Just enough for the entertainment purpose.

Some people already feel like they are not having fun, because what they have in mind is making money, to all people that feels this way, If you feel like you aren't having fun I believe for the greater good, it's better to take a break from gambling and do something else.

I won't be a hypocrite, of course, I want to win and that's the main purpose of gambling but I always try to just have fun when doing it. If the purpose of gambling is to double the money to pay for the bills and you are risking way too much that you can afford then we are taking out the fun part of it.
This is the reason why I changed my strategy in casino games, I am not pursuing small wins anymore and trying to hit that big jackpot which in my experience had already happened like 5 times, and at all those chances I made a withdrawal as fast as I could.

I am more inclined to believe that gambling is a habit from which a person receives a certain burst of adrenaline, without some of which it is already difficult for him to live. Once you win a large sum, it’s as if a person falls into a trap. People are all different, the one who is not subject to excitement will calmly receive his winnings and end the game. But the other one will want to repeat it again and again. It’s difficult for me to talk about the feeling that a person who has lost everything experiences, since I am not a gambler, but I would always like to understand such people at least a little. What takes hold of them is that they can lose everything and remain completely bankrupt. What's next? It’s good if there is a source of income that can be replenished, but if not. What then? Can something like this be called entertainment?

If you look at what is happening in the world today, it is true that things are getting more difficult and everyone wants to make money quickly, but gambling is not the answer, because gambling is not a place that can give you money all the time, why not work or trade that can make money Still, compared to gambling, why should you choose to gamble when the risk is much higher and it is easy to lose money in the end?

Actually, it's all about your mindset when you see gambling from what perspective, obviously it's fun for me personally when every weekday I spend time working and only have weekends to gamble just for fun, nothing more, I have a budget. limited so that it doesn't make me gamble too far and become addicted, when I lose, just think of me paying for something that pleases me, but if I win, why not withdraw it and enjoy it, but if you gamble, you look at it from the perspective of making money. that's wrong  Wink

Yes, your statement is very correct because it is in accordance with the current conditions of society, especially in an increasingly difficult economy, difficult jobs and rising prices of basic necessities, it is very clear and natural that most of them turn to something that looks instant like gambling, in my opinion this is the strongest reason why they go to casinos and why now gambling players are increasing and increasing in several countries. Obviously if we look at gambling it's really nothing but a place to have fun and not at all to make money, but I don't know and I think the potential or opportunity to get a lot of money instantly in gambling has completely made them like blind and not at all think about any risks that are there. I think the reason is as I said above and you also said that the world situation is not good now especially in the economy, I'm sure they want to get a job but now it's very difficult to get it and to start a business there may also be many obstacles. Yes I understand this will only worsen the situation but it only explains the logical cause why more and more people end up gambling. because yes, but the best thing is that you can avoid it because this is not a solution.

Yes, it's true, it all comes back to their own mindset, I hope they will understand about how real gambling is especially in the risks, don't let you see this as an opportunity or solution to fix your financial crisis, it will only cause a lot of problems, nothing more than that. So yes that is very true, I say you are a healthy and responsible gambler by only seeing gambling as a place to have fun and limit the budget when gambling on holidays to fill the time, so basically I like this mindset like you.

Your response made me think about something deeper. There have always been drawbacks to online gambling. Yes, it is marketed as entertainment on the one hand. You can't deny, though, that quick money is appealing.

Not all of the folks who gamble are thrill-seekers. I witness people in a desperate attempt to close their financial deficits. For others, it's a Hail Mary; it's not entertainment. I have questioned whether the possible decline into addiction is worth the dopamine surge that follows a victory.

Who are they kidding when they say they're "just having fun," as many do? Most likely simply by themselves. Make money the main motivation, and that's a slippery slope, my friend. Taking a break is a lifeline as much as advice. But who's brave enough to take it?

I know the feeling when even when I’m resting I can’t stop thinking about making money (in my country this is the norm haha), but if I’m relaxing and doing something interesting to me, then I’m relaxing. If an activity no longer brings me pleasure and relaxation, then I simply stop doing it. It’s not about thoughts about making money, but about the fact that you personally are tired of gambling. I think you need to find something else to do to relax.
As for those who get involved in gambling in order to make money, this has been written about many times - gambling is not for making money but for entertainment.

Yes, I get entertainment from gambling especially when I can get big wins. Unfortunately, I rarely get big wins and can only win a small amount of money, perhaps more often than not just breaking even. But that's enough for me because I'm not after winning and just want to enjoy my time gambling.

If they only think about winning from gambling, they may not get a win but a loss. They can also experience gambling addiction because they only think about gambling instead of seeking pleasure from gambling. So it depends on each person's point of view how they treat gambling.

Initially you may just have fun by enjoying online gambling games in your free time, but gambling will make players even more curious and addicted to continuing to play. The adrenaline rush of wanting to get Max Win is of course the next goal to get back the money that has been spent. Having fun is probably only 30%, the rest is for making more money.
The more money you spend while gambling, the greater your desire to get more money than you have spent. When the activity you do is only to earn some money, then the desire to have fun will become secondary.
