I'd rather create a mindset on money making through investments and goals than luck, it's fun to place bets on football games because I am a supporter of a favorite club and that's it, maybe we will win or lose, No one knows, it's better to keep it like this, because no one knows.

Well, just burned +$80 on slots... I played less than 20 minutes, a few bonus rounds paid x10 max, and some big wins were higher than what I won from bonus rounds. But those long-losing streaks simply melted my amount... I stopped playing slots and I placed some sports bets with a few dollars left. Maybe I will have more luck with goals today.

It's entertaining as long as we play with money we can afford to lose... I like to play slots, but I know how cruel slots can be (and some other lucky-based games), so even though I hope to hit something big I am aware that I can easily bust my amount in minutes, literally. Especially if I get into "buying bonuses" mode!

I had some good fun when I started gambling at Stake.com a few years ago, because they had a pretty good RTP and I regularly won small enough jackpots to fund my entertainment. In my case I do because I only gamble occasionally, with money I can afford to lose and I don't put false hopes on it (like expecting my life to change because of jackpots).

The problem is that many of the stories we see on the forum do start from having false hopes in gambling, and end up worse than they started. The preoccupation with making money, instead of entertainment, leads them to lose money, sometimes a lot of money and sometimes even borrowed one. There is nothing fun or entertaining about it, it becomes a drama.

The derivation of entertainment or fun in whatever word you may call it from gambling is akin to the elite class of gamblers. The class a gambler founds himself in society is a determinant of what hey look forward to get from gambling.

The poor will argue that fun in gambling will not put food on his table, and there's wisdom in that, because in his scale of preference entertainment is not even in the least, counting the responsibility he bears.

So the choice of what people want from gambling has so much to do with their social class in society. For some it's the money, to another it's entertainment while the other may be going for both entertainment and the money.

Yes. Imo the only reason people tend to remove entertainment from gambling si when they try to actively earn money from it. Earning money is yes, the goal of gambling, but it isn't the end imo, it's just the means. If you get it nice, you get to spend more money somewhere else, if not then it's fine as well. The idea is it's kind of dumb to even think about how you would consider money that wasn't yours in the first place to be money lost.

Additionally, if I had money issues, I wouldn't be gambling in the first place. Gambling, just like most other stuff that can entertain you, needs money to be able to do its job properly. If you don't have one, then just don't do it. Easier said than done though I suppose.

That is what I'm currently doing right now. I've been exposed to gambling since I was an addict and there are games that are used to be fun and now it's quite boring even I know how to play the game and I can possibly earn money in that game. I only play occasionally nowadays and most of my gambling sessions are for past time and fun purposes only, not for the sake of money anymore. I can control my spending even I only play sometimes because I have a allocated budget for it. If you are not having fun, take a break and slow down your gambling activities. Learn new hobbies or interest, there's a chance that you can completely stop from doing gambling.

While it's surprising to see someone like you shift from addiction to occasional fun, I must give credit where it's due. So, clap, clap. Yes, games lose their appeal, but remember: the house always wins. You might want to pat yourself on the back for having a budget now, but let's be real, even occasional gambling can slip back into addiction. Ditch the games and find better hobbies.
