As Bitcoin becomes more popular more retailers will accept it naturally as they can make money by doing so but right now most retailers do not accept because most people don't have Bitcoin so really it depends and mostly online for online purchases these days but some retailers do accept it.

When more retailers will receive Bitcoin, I think it's just a matter of time, because the more bitcoin the more it uses, the possibility of bitcoin will continue to grow and the price will be more expensive Wink
I agree, bitcoin has already made a huge impact on the internet and the news of it rising up has been the talk of forums and blogs and videos, and i think that the more poeple will join in the soooner it will become widly accepted.

Only when bitcoin is legalized, more retailers would come forward to accept bitcoin payments. For example, just before few days we saw that bitcoin got legalized in japan and immediately lots of traders started accepting bitcoin as payment which lead to increase in demand for bitcoins resulting in increase in its price.Alsowhen bitcoin becomes more stable, retailers would start accepting bitcoins.

It's like the electric cars then, nobody is buying a car cause there are no charging stations cause there are no people buying cars.

Retailers can start accepting bitcoin any time.Less than 1% of them care about the price.
Most are using 3rd party payment gateways and they get usd not bitcoin at the end of the transaction.

Even overstock, with the founder a BTC enthusiast wasn't keeping more than 10% in coins.

If they don't take payments yet they need to be hammered with examples of business getting more customers with BTC otherwise they won't feel the need to add a BTC gateway

Yes i see japan is the leading country in accepting Bitcoin and use it to pay the costs of electricity and water. That also proves that if want the whole retailer to accept bitcoin, the government of that country must accept bitcoin, Bitcoins need to be legalized for circulation and widely accepted. At present bitcoin is still not so popular and does not get the trust of users and retailers, it needs the support from the government

In order to trade with bitcoins evolved no need to wait for its legalization. It is enough to reduce the price per transaction, and reduce the time of confirmation of payment. I hope this problem will be solved and then we will see growth proposals. Legalization can only slow down the process.

Is hard for some retailers to trust easily for bitcoin because isn't legal already aside from that is the sudden change of value. Even though they are aware of that but they also thinking if the existence of this digital currency will survive in the future or it will suddenly disappear. If all the countries make this digital currency become legal probably and have a concrete rules and control by the government it is possible that all retailers accept bitcoin as a mode of payment for any transactions.

At this time already many online stores that receive bitcoin, and can be said that all we are looking for is available there. Which is still minimal is the use of bitcoin for direct transactions such as in restaurants, hotels and so forth.

I think it depends on the goverment position, some of the countries ban bitcoins( as it is illegal ), others are trying to involve them in their economy. In this case i like Russia position, which tries to do a new cryptocurrency for its financial banking sytem. When the world will see the potential and legalization of the cryptocurrencies, than i guess we will see more and more retailers accepting Bitcoins Smiley

Well, in my country it won't be for a long time. For that to happen we have to wait for mass adoption, which, in my country won't happen anytime in the near future as, well, let's just say most of the people here aren't even aware about what BTC is...so first awareness needs to be spread and then maybe we will see more acceptance of BTC in stores and retail shops in my country.

Small retailers should also pay attention to the acceptance of bitcoin, as retailers do not just exist in the marketplace to make transactions, if possible with many easy applications to make payments it is easier for retailers.

"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency"

article published July, 5, 2017
https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/

"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients."

It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores.

Well, bitcoin can be used as payment for the next years in other countries and we will see the good improvement/development of it since the bitcoin is now becoming more popular to others.

Bitcoin needs to be faster though.

It's actually pretty easy to integrate coin payments into existing online stores if they want. Maybe demand isn't there yet.

Well, like you said Japan did a great amount in paving the way for Bitcoin adoption. Without the support of the Japanese government, Bitcoin would have much less adoption by vendors at the moment. As with the US, they are hesitant because of the discrepancies surrounding tax and the general legal situation of Bitcoin. They believe that a change to Bitcoin would results in an economic crash especially if people pay no tax. But look at Japan. It is doing great with the implementation of Bitcoin. Perhaps with adoption by other countries, the US may change their view regarding Bitcoin. Only time will tell.

When USA and other well known first world countries are going to announce that bitcoin is good for everyone. But however they have to put themselves on the neutral mode. I know retailers will accept bitcoin once they are convinced that it is going to make their business faster and will generate more profit.
Compared to the past years bitcoin has got a bigger adoption this year from retailers as well common people. When Japan announced its official acceptance the markets accepting bitcoin increased a lot and caused a big inflow and circulation of bitcoin. Same will continue when more countries take part into legalized use of bitcoin. I don't think USA needs to take part legally,  because they'll try to take control over it.

And I'm seeing that there's a pattern that every year bitcoin's price, demand and popularity has been increasing. With the Japan's announcement they are now one of the biggest contribution when it comes to transactions. They really are serious with bitcoin and a big support coming from their government, only if all countries are the same like them.

Maybe in the year of 2020 bitcoin more local store will accept bitcoin as a payment methods but there are some online store that actually accept bitcoin even the price is low or high by the technology change it will be more chances to accept bitcoin because we are all in new generation that technology chance everything.

What a guess, really 2020? How about this year, next year, following year?

We all don't know what will be the progress but chances are, it will be successful. So literally it's obvious that we might see already a good development once 2020 came since it was build up for previous years before that.

I think Japan is doing well when it comes to cryptocurrency. More retailers would accept bitcoin if this happens. Here in my country, some establishments accept bitcoin. I think it's more convenient that way and it's less burden to transact with bitcoin. Transactions with btc will help a lot of retailers if they will accept btc.
