The first time I heard about bitcoins 1 year back when my college professor told me about it and told me that this is a great way to earn money and asked me to study the concept well and he also told me about this forum from where he was trying to earn some bitcoins by selling his services.
The first time I heard the bitcoin is from 2016 on bloomberg TV broadcast, there was specific discussion about the estimated price bitcoin is going up because halving day, and turned out to be proven, the price bitcoin climbs significantly.
A scam of course!
I heard about bitcoins from my best friend 3 years ago. I bought some BTC to get into an MLM, but luckily got the BTC back out fast when I realized it was a ponzi scheme & I have been enjoying BTC ever since!

I heard about bitcoins from my friend 5 years ago when he was doing research on ways of earning money online but at that time due to my education pressure I couldn't focus on it and later on after 2 years when I was in need of money I started to do more research on it and found some very good ways of earning bitcoins.
I first heard about Bitcoin from my brother who is a computer engineering student. Being a tech savvy that he is, he has more knowledge on the internet world than me even though I am an IT graduate. Due to my previous job I haven't had the time to explore the internet world. Then I happened to see the suggested articles in my default browser. One of the article's title caught my attention. It was an article from forbes saying a guy is currently travelling the world from his bitcoin profits. He used to own 20,000btc and then eventually sold most of it when the price got unbelievably high. He made $25M profit out of it and as of the moment of the interview he got 1,000btc left in his account.
I've heard it on my classmate. At first, only one of my classmates had tried doing these bitcoin things but as the time goes by, lots of my classmates were also engaged in this bitcoin forum. Whenever they are talking about bitcoin, I'm just listening to them and asks them what it is all about since I don't really have any ideas about it except that this bitcoin forum helps them to earn money. So, because of curiosity, I explore this so called bitcoin.
It was from the same money making method group that I'm in on Facebook. I used to do all sorts of online jobs but then all has turned into a scam site. It has become really hard for us to look for a website to work for. There are legit websites but it's either the payment rate is extremely low or you can only make a decent money by having thousands of referrals registered under you. Bitcoin was just starting out and there are other people posting ref links on different bitcoin related website such as cloud mining and HYIPs. Both are ponzi sites so we didn't really pay that much attention to bitcoin.
After being in drought for a while, we had no choice but start doing bitcoin related stuffs even though we didn't know anything about it. So, we heard about bitcoin because of the people promoting their ref links.

first i heard bitcoin from my friend 1 year ago when btc price is 400$. he tell me that btc price regularly increase then i search google blog article. and i bes sure it's pice can be high increase then i buy some btc.
I found out about bitcoin on the Internet through advertising on the site of surfing 2 years ago. For me it was something fantastic and I decided to try it. Now I recommend to all my friends.

And it's a good thing you opened your mind up to the prosepct of btc. A lot of people who've been so used to normal everyday transactions don't usually have interest and up until the time when btc price rose to more than 2k plus this year, i've been having a hard time introducing btc to friends.

2013 you know bitcoin and you just joined in this forum in 2016, it is a very long time bro. What is the reason that makes you not fast join in this forum? But this proves nothing is too late in some ways to be better.

My dad actually knew something about bitcoins and somehow shared it to me. Though I didn't find time to study it or do some research, since I'm too busy w/ something I couldn't remember. Then after 1-2 years, I heard about bitcoins again but this time from my friend. I was so intrigue on how he earns by just doing this forum, so he showed me how does this BTC works. After that day, I immediately do research about it and was struck of what I found not only because of the money in it but also the knowledge I learned from it. From that day on, I started to engaged myself in doing bitcoins by campaigns, trading and investing.
I heard the word "bitcoin" in past few years in a Social Media site that said it is used to buy many illegal things in deep web so i thought it is an illegal. But few months ago I've heard that it is not illegal and anyone can used it. My friends teach me some information about bitcoin and i become interested about it. They earned some money by posting that help them for there daily expenses. So i become amazed that while you are facibg your mobile phone or any gadgets, while you are in the bed room or anywhere and while you are just typing your own thought about some certain topic you earning money, Isn't great?
Where else? On the Internet, of course. There's just so few people in my place that are Internet and computer literate. Most people here make a living from jobs like farming, fishing, etc. From that alone, you can conclude that I live in a province. 
I think I'm the first one here in my area to ever discover bitcoins. The people that knows bitcoin here wouldn't know it if it wasn't for me. I taught a couple of people, then those people wanted to help too, so the word of mouth went on. I even see other bitcoin users on Facebook from my area that I don't really know personally. The exponential growth is fascinating.

I heard it back in 2011 where in there was a huge hype of mining Bitcoin using GPU's and there were numerous facebook groups where they posted they rigs and also had many tutorials for other to follow or even customize their rigs in order to work better.
Well, I heard it from my classmates a few months ago. Furthermore, my classmates already know what bitcoin is and they gain more money by using bitcoin.
