i too read news in twitter but i only follow accounts with the most followers and accounts that have a blue badge on them because they are more trusted .

I read news about crypto through Twitter because Twitter updates news very quickly so I get so much information about crypto both about small coins that can be invested and market developments so that it can be a reference to do my own research before investing.
same, I also read a lot of news from twitter. by following the blue ticked official accounts, we will often get updated information. I also follow several trader accounts who often share their information and analysis regarding the development of cryotocurrency prices. this is very helpful.from the website, I often read articles on cointelegraph. I also follow several telegram groups and channels that actively share the latest info such as Ico analytics.
For smaller coin you could get your news from research, and you can do it from linkin, or from any social media that your project related in. obviously it will be hard if the project is so small and lack of exposure in the first place, but sure you could find the news from insider such as telegram or medium.
Yes, there is nothing difficult in terms of looking for project news if someone always tries well through several ways, and one of them is like you said, what is difficult here is for those who are lazy to look for it, I think that's it. 
I've been reading CoinDesk and CoinTelegraph, but those are general news sites in my opinion. There isn't a lot of news about the smaller coins.

from the first beginning around 2016 knowing crypto only through friends while relaxing discussing how we can earn income without having to leave the house..

I never watched any podcast just yet, but sometimes I do quick clicks on Twitch random channels. Youtube Recommendation is quite not that okay for me since it just recommends me random stupid videos while I often search about crypto there.Unless you can recommend channels that are legitimate there and not just paid to talk, I would just stick to Twitch.
Yes, coinDesk and cointelegraph are the leading and quality channels in this market, but I think those are the places where we all have that information in common. So getting some confidential information from projects will only be known quickly if we follow and pay attention to it, I usually do with projects that I like and participating in social channels as well. Finding out the information surrounding the plans they plan to build will help us have a broader view.
usually i get the lastest news from telegram group that specially discuss about newest fundamental or news that released in any world. this group have many resources and even we could immediately know before spreaded in twitter or any crypto disscusion group. please join to "unfolded" channel to get fastest news.
I usually follow the cryptocurrency community, or telegram channel that contains about signals, there also preaches a lot of news from various sember and media, you can join in many cryptocurrency channels on telegram, it is very helpful to find news quickly.

Why do you have to read it when you can watch the youtube podcast live of the bitcoin and crypto news channels. There are hundreds of them that even coindesk have their own channel where they explain what really goes on in the crypto space.
I turn them on all the time because sometimes the new becomes very valuable specially if they feature projects that has very high potentials.

I also quite often see the speculations they make for the price development of popular coins. however, the news there was updated quite quickly. Besides that, this forum is also my source for finding information about new coins, or even anything new about crypto.
you have a source for excellent information. I also follow their social media accounts. lots of information that is always updated.but now it looks like the information in the crypto community on social media is also very fast.
but for new coins that will especially be listed on major exchanges like binance and other exchanges. I follow the social media accounts of several exchanges to get the latest updates fast.

I love to read about the fundamental of cryptocurrencies and the newest news about cryptocurrency around the world. To accommodate my needs for information, usually I google for the fundamental information I need. So, it's a targeted question or keywords in the search column. For the newest news, I subscribed to a couple of telegram channels. They usually took the news or summarized it from special websites about cryptocurrencies. as an additional, I also lurking in bitcointalk threads. Sometimes I also get the news from the google news feature.
In the past i used to follow all the news sites in the cryptocurrency space but stopped following all those when FUD and fake news started to appear all the time. Now a days i only check the updates when i see some hype forming in the exchanges trading pattern and then google it and find out what is happening in the market rather than following each and every detail like i used to in the past.
