Well that's the main point that is the reason why gambling cannot be used as a place to earn income, because one of them is as you said above that there is absolutely no guarantee for anyone to win at the end of the session which makes the idea of making money in gambling absurd. As we know that gambling is an activity that involves risk so of course it is very dangerous when you bring the intention of earning in a place that has absolutely no certainty whatsoever, and the problem is that there is a possibility of risk that will continue to lurk you in every session.

Usually like some cases that have happened a lot that the idea of gambling with the aim to earn is actually a trigger for many problems that will bring and plunge you into adversity, one of the reasons is because I believe that when someone comes with the aim to earn then obviously when they experience defeat then usually they are not able to accept the fact of defeat which in the end emotions will dominate and will lead them to many actions out of control and obviously this scenario will usually make them end up with a lot of defeat and regret, and of course it is true as you say that it is better to gamble in moderation with the amount of budget that we can afford to lose, it is better.

No gambler feels happy when the end of the game only shows defeat. especially if the individual bets a large enough amount, which of course will be a loss that he will regret very much. generally, loosing money isn't fun and except you're being an hypocritical gambler you wouldn't consider  anything fun out of a lost money but that's not what we're talking about here when we talk of the fun associated with gambling. The main fun comes while you're playing and hoping to iether win or loose. Every gambler has his choice of gambling and the main reason why they sticked to a particular gambling act is that they are comfortable with it because of the fun that they associate with it.

If you're gambling above your expected limit and you loose your money in the process, then their is nothing fun about it but if you are gambling responsibly using an amount that is in line with your gambling plan, then you will obviously enjoy the fun in gambling. But the summery has always been to gamble responsibly so you don't get yourself involved in a mix where every gambling act gets you upset because you always loose a whooping amount of money.

Making gambling as your source of income is very dangerous because there is never a guarantee that you are going to win any game. Gambling is risky and can be devastating to some extent if you do not quit immediately when losing serially because you just might get frustrated at the turn out of events.
Never deem it fit to make or take gambling as your source of income. It is not advisable and not healthy for a lifestyle. Losing is never been fun but since we are dealing with gambling then it would really be just that normal that you would really be having such experience. I believe there is no fun on losing money, regardless we are talking about gambling, betting, investment, lending, or whatever. Though, in the case of gambling and betting the fun is definitely not related to losing, but rather on the feeling of thrill and uncertainty which comes with the randomness of the action of staking one's money in favor of one result. If someone, on the other hand, manages to score a good win or a jackpot during a gamblinf session, there is a mixture of both fun, thrill and happiness (the latter one being obviously associated to the money one would have just pocketed).

Wait, is gambling supposed to be taken as a source of income? People taking gambling as a source of income are taking great risks, it doesn’t make any sense to me. When gambling, there is no assurance that you are going to win, gambling is luck, and when gambling, there are always higher chances that you are going to lose money, so why are you going to take something like that as your source of income? When you are gambling, you are definitely going to be expecting a win, and whenever you win, you can make use of the money for anything you plan to do at that particular time, you don’t have to make plans for the money you haven’t won yet.
 
Whenever I am busy, I hardly operate my phone, not to talk of gambling. The only time I gamble is whenever I am free, and if I have nothing to do, then I will decide to gamble just to keep myself busy, but I don’t just gamble anyhow.

Exactly, I agree with you that someone would assume that or they would say that there is no fun when you lose money, and that means I believe that they have the belief that one can only carry the intention and purpose of earning in gambling while there is another better mindset which is to make gambling a place or a means to entertain yourself when you are having a boring free time and gambling with the purpose of relieving that boredom.

Gambling is such that is pushy, but when we are conscious and disciplined in playing it, no amount of pushing and temptation will make it control us. This is why in losses, we should moderate things, we should know the maximum time we can spend gambling and the money we can lose in total. On getting to that level, it is best to quit the session regardless of whether we are losing or gaining at that time. And in gaining, we should not be carried away with it, or else, it might cause overconfidence for us and might make us lose back what we've gained.

Lastly, for those who are addicted to gambling, your suggestion of getting occupied with something else is so good. But I like to add that such a thing to be occupied with should be beneficial as well, if not, the zeal to gamble may easily dominate it.

Losses in gambling cannot be completely avoided, because losses in gambling will definitely happen and that includes losses. However, in my opinion, big losses can be avoided by having self-control, limitations in gambling or in the budget allocated for gambling and being able to stop when we lose from gambling. I don't agree with your opinion but we all have different opinions on the way we gamble and how we treat gambling if all of the gamblers cannot have fun when losing money we will all be disappointed because losing is part of gambling a fact that you should accept so you can liberate yourself of the attitude that you can beat the house that will cause anxiety and depression.

Betting in excess is very much risky and dangerous although gambling is said to be risky and dangerous but that does not mean one should blindly gamble ignorantly to the point of gambling excessively. It is a miss normal and inappropriate to do. If you check out, most of the major winners I have seen and read online all had a little bet that is insignificant and the results were something else.

So therefore, as a gambler, it is wise that you gamble a small amount that can be overlooked if losing was the only option left but I believe here is not the end of the  road as it is more sophisticated than one could think of.

I am still having fun even when losing just because I can afford it as I have limits on my bets compared to my previous years of betting. As long as you are responsible with your bets you are still having fun unless you are after about money and winnings. We all wanted to win but the challenges we experience on the game itself is priceless and fun.

In reality, nobody who loses money in whatever they do, call it big or small will take it as fun throughout. Answering to the question in the OP and replying to this, I think that the key is the fun in the moment before you know the result. Winning is of course a cause of joy, but the dopamine released in the brain when you are waiting for the outcome is the real source of fun IMO, and which makes it worth suffering when you lose.

Such a gambler will continue to chase his lose to recoup the losses. When you bet in excess, it means that you are over-positioned and any bad result (a loss), will significantly affect your position. Gambling is not as simple as blindly investing everything in a single game and luck will be kind enough to make you a millionaire  This does not work in this way. I have seen that blindly jumping into gambling with a lot of capital usually will result in the loss of capital and money. Haven't you seen all those millionaires from gambling, they all spent little and won a jackpot. Maybe that's a secret in gambling which a common man is not aware of at the moment.



How about making your mind to believe that what you are doing is for the fun and once you gamble, you have fully enjoyed the time and the money? If somehow the result aspect of the game is eliminated from our mind, it will make our mind burden free and we will enjoy more as compared to when we put money into gambling with the hope that we MUST win
