I could express what I would do if I were you. Just keep in mind invest that you can afford loss only. Possibly if I have the fund for investment I would invest 50% in Bitcoin and the other 50% of my funds in Top altcoin which would give a good return. I won't shill any altcoin here. Just research yourself for altcoins. Bitcoin is still in the buy zone, you may accumulate it if you like and keep it in a safe wallet like hardware or any other open-source non-custodial wallet like Electrum. I will prefer to learn more about cryptocurrency before investing, it's quite important for newbies. Cryptocurrency investment isn't like a Ponzi scheme that would promise any return on investment.

It's good that you've mentioned blaming others for their suggestions. This has happened to many of us personally when we've told them to buy bitcoin and then the bear market has come. Still, the best choice is to invest in bitcoin. As you can see, the majority will tell you that newbie or not, you have to invest in bitcoin. If you want to be profitable then buy bitcoin but equip yourself with patience and even more with longer patience.

Yes, almost everyone has a tendency to invest in cryptocurrency. Now if we want to invest in cryptocurrency, we have to select the correct coin according to the time in the initial stage. Bitcoin will be the best if you want to hold for a long time according to the current market conditions. Moreover, BNB, Ethereum, solona is not so bad. Get a hardware wallet first. That’s your first investment for lifetime if you keep it safe properly. Secondly, start sending small small amounts every week or monthly on that wallet. Make sure whenever you buy bitcoin you buying it at the bottom/discounted rates. Buying in steps will ease your investment by two things: one is you won’t have to burden yourself and secondly you will be making multiple entry points and that will later decide your BEP. This is the common advice of many, invest on Bitcoin and learn other projects later on and I see this one as effective because I also start with Bitcoin, and along the way I just slowly learned how the altcoins work and how I can make profit with that as well. Investing with the top coins are always ok, you just need to set up target selling price and your cut loss price so you can be more safe and you can protect your money by doing this.

If you do really like to have that near safe investment then go with established ones whether on BTC or other top altcoins in the market but if you do really love to take up some risk for further possible

profits then you could go along with low caps or low ranking coins which it would really be your choice and since its your money then dont listen up on someones decisions
and better to stick with yours with your own analysis and preferences so be careful on doing that.
