i think first you check good campaign. and invest on that coin. it is the best way. check in best websites. select one coin which is giving offers.
otherwise better invest on bitcoin. when bitcoin price will decrease. check the bitcoin price frequently.

First rule while investing. Never ever invest your whole amount in a single altcoin. Distribute it in atleast 3-5 different altcoins. 500$ is not much to buy high value crypto and you wont profit much from it. I would suggest you to buy coins that are currently under 3$ rate and hold great potential and vision in future. Some of such coins are IOTA, ADA, TRX, XVG, XRP,ICX and NEM.

All these coins are not more than $4 and still have long way to go. These projects are really interesting, their teams and awesome and also they are undervalued currently that makes them perfect for investment. They can surely give more than 5X rise within a span of an year or two.
