I think the best place to invest your money right now is in Bitcoin and litecoin, Bitcoin has shown a tremendous fall in value in the last couple of months and it still has not recovered from the fall. Litecoin on the other hand has alot of potential to grow in the future. You can easily expect it's price to be above 2000$ be end of this year for sure.
half on NEO, half on wanchain
i would split the 500 up in half, put 250 in relatively safe bets like btc and eth and the other half in good projects out of the top 20 coins, like neo, Vechain, monero.
If you want to have many advantages, try buying cheap coins such as XRP, LTC, Monero etc. But, if it's safer you seem to buy BTC, ETH

What do you want? If you want a lot of profit you can choose the cheap coins like XRP, NEM, ETC, LTC, Waves but if you need safer than the other coins I think BTC or ETH is better.

I advise you to divide the amount into 10 parts. (For $ 50) and choose 10 altcoins from the top 20 on capitalization. It's hard to tell which ones are more reliable. I believe that Lisk Dash and Litecoin can give good growth. Other coins can also be good. I want to invest 500$ in an altcoin,can you help me pick one ??
