I think 500 Could be a good amount to invest in Ethereum! A lot of coins there but still you will get more than 2 Ethereum at 500 USD! I myself agree more with your first suggestion ethereum than the other coins , because with a capital of $ 500 you can get 2,5 ethereum now,and I recommend hold the wait until the end of the year, will definitely give a lot of profit
I think that this sum is enough to invest in such coins like btc, ether as their price is good now. To my mind, it will be great to keep these coins and to earn good profit later when the market recovers to the full extent
