I believe you can win the lottery by doing this but the chances are so small(like 1 in 1billion or higher) because of the different number combinations getting picked it'll take a long time depending on your luck before you get the winning ticket.

i personally don't believe that.
but it is about the math and the probability of that happening. technically speaking since there is no relationship between each number of each round there shouldn't be any edge gained by choosing the same number.
it is just choosing the same number in dice and i always give a dice example when it comes to lottery.
in dice you can put the multiplier on a big number (i think 9900x) and then if you roll 0.0 for example you can win. so you choose 0 as your lottery number and keep rolling (buying lottery tickets). your chances of winning is still the same.

The lottery is pure luck. The chance that the same two sets of numbers are drawn in the lottery after the last is just as big as the chance for any random number.

Most people don't want to believe this because it does not feel logic.

The only thing buying the same nubmers does is not feeling guilty when it lands on the numbers when you didn't buy them.

when you try the lottery means you have to dare to risk your luck. I mean luck is the only factor that makes us win. Luck is everything in the lottery, win the lottery 100% dependent on luck. But I believe, everyone will get lucky in the lottery, once or twice, sooner or later. Nothing is impossible. Took decades ? It must be so earlier than what I calculated. The probability theory will not assure that we could win for sure if we buy same number in a lottery. So, only by assumptions we may use this strategy.

I do think instead of following this strategy just going by random would be more better option as it may work at any time and with the any number.

If this is only your way of gambling you will not be prone to addiction and I would say it's completely for fun only. In real world, I can afford buy a daily lottery ticket worth $1 dollar with the chance to win $1,000,000. That amount can really change my life and will let me live a comfortable life, however as time runs I lose the interest in doing as time will really come when you feel you are like wasting money.

That is too superstitious, you will never gonna win lottery if you are not lucky enough. There are plenty of gamblers who died already maintaining the same lottery number but they never win. It's important to understand the math behind, in lottery it can give us great amount of wining but chances are low.

no i do not believe that. in fact i hate lotteries because the chances of winning them is extremely small and there is always a lot of people who are leaving disapointed because only one lucky bastard wins and the rest of the participants lose their money.
and yeah that strategy can work but you may need to buy a couple of million lottery tickets and it can take till the end of the world.
