For a newbie, I suggest before investing, you must study first the history of cryptocurrency in general. Read about the cryptocurrency's nature, the do's and don'ts before entering. You must first know the basics and fundamentals before risking because crypto is already known as a risky investment, but it will be riskier if you'll dive into it without proper knowledge about it. One must know the simple background and the strategies in order to understand the complex things later on. You can watch video tutorials on YouTube so that you can have the gist and grasp the knowledge imparted to you fully.

But to answer, my personal picks were bitcoin, etherium, and BNB. These coins really showed potential over the years and most likely their price will soar as well in the future. Do your research first. Ask your friends that are into crypto for suggestions. They may be of help, but don't rely on them alone. You must still do your part.

I put most of my money on bitcoin and the 10% or so in some chosen potential coins like ETH, AXS, SLP and Polkadot. Although it's not a lot, I am happy that I have a diverse investment even if it's just a little.

You'll have to decide it for yourself. We have some experienced to tell like coins that we have chosen for long term investment but this will just give you confusions because we have a lot to tell.

Just a piece of advice, choose wisely. DYOR and consider those coins that have a good trading volume and on the top List in CMC. Any potential goin is worth to hold because cryptocurrency may flactuate any time that will give you some profits in time.

The answer 10 out of 10 times will always be bitcoin. Start there build yourself up with bitcoin and then it'll bits and pieces of other alts. Don't be fooled by the last run up, in bad times alts really bite it. Don't let anyone sway you otherwise.

If we looking for long-term investment in the cryptocurrencies market, no doubt that Bitcoin and Ethereum would be the most recommended currency here. Both of them have decent ROI so far particularly for Bitcoin, you could check its ROI by visiting market cap sites such as coinmarketcap^[1] or coingecko^[2]. Just a little advice, don't too much rely on someone analysis would be wise to learn either fundamental or technical analysis by yourself then apply it, dwyor.

In terms of long term investments, bitcoin and ethereum will be the best choice for me. Not only because they are currently at the top but also because of the potential they hold that may make them dominate even more in the future. Though there are still a lot of other altcoins where you can diversify your investment, I would still choose to stick where I can be certain and where I can secure my future with which are through bitcoin and altcoin. You're free to invest wherever you want as long as you analyze it carefully first.

Some will aslo mention you shitcoins available in the market at this time due to their profitability in small pumps but in reality they will not give you any returns and only thing you will get is loss and the best is to invest in top coins that have strong development in future and good blockchain technology and prices are boosting like ETH,BNB,SOL,ADA,DOT and have billion dollars of market cap and have potential to rise and are way down at this time so you can diversify between them but this altcoins follow btc so if you can have it on priority basis.

Me personally BTC and ETH are two cryptocurrencies that are taking different paths and serve different purposes. But it all boils down to what you think crypto is and what you want to get out of it. That will determine the spectrum of investing as well as the life cycle of those investments. What's good or bad to invest in is a personal opinion at the end of the day.

Bitcoin would probably be the top answer, but if you want other options to spread your portfolio, go look up the top coins in the market. They should be in general good investments in the long-term and if you even manage to find a good project that you can invest in for a few months, then that's even better though looking it up would take a LOT of time imo. If you're looking for only a single coin though, then Bitcoin. It's pretty much proven its worth throughout its existence of 10 years.

Check coinmarketcap and pick among the top 15, those are good picks for me especially eth and bnb aside from bitcoin ofcourse. The top 15 aside from doge and stablecoins like BUSD, USDT, and USDC have solid projects and usecases. Their development is continues and the devs are transparent about their progress and future plans. It is a good time to buy them now as the market is in a consolidating state, those coins already pumped a lot from the previous rally so earning profit from them would be easy once the market goes up again.

You will get bitcoin as main suggested by all of us here also you can grab BNB since CZ is doing great and binance is so successful then for tokens which I am tracking right now since the potential is big is AXS and SLP this token is made by Axie infinity team and those tokens are so useful on their gaming platform that's why I can say that they are good to hold for longterm. You can also select the Ethereum,Sol and matic since in future this coin will break more ATH since this is been used by token devs for their projects.
