Both coins have its own values. Bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurrency, it's makes awareness of blockchain technology. Ethereum exist to complete it with smart contract. If you ask for better, I can really say which is better. But if you try to invest, just buy them both. I am sure it's worth it.
I couldn't precisely choose which one is better between bitcoin or Ethereum because for me both crypto was worth it and good coin to invest with. Though bitcoin was a dominant cryptocurrency in the crypto market today we couldn't deny that Ethereum was a good coin too and in fact it is the dominant crypto in alternate crypto sect. As of now what we have observe was the high rate difference of bitcoin to ethereum which is 34x higher.

I think this comparison is now worthy. Both are fundamentally different from each other. Bitcoin is the first blockchain based crypto. And at this moment is most popular. People from outside of the crypto space also know what bitcoin is. And institutional investors are also trying to get it. On other hand ethereum is the most popular platform based crypto band for now with all defiband nt platform it's run also very well  I think as an investment bith ofbthem are really good.

Very true, I am also a little surprised at people who always ask about their options, even though it is very clear that Bitcoin and Ethereum are very valuable assets and can always provide benefits in the long term after the correction is over.
If they have lack of budget and they only have to depend with any of them, they have to choose one. But you guys are correct that it shouldn't be an option but we have to understand that not everyone has enough knowledge in crypto space.
Some just came and that's why they're asking but if the guy has a decent knowledge and aware of the differences of the two, that's an obvious question that shouldn't be asked anymore.

Maybe they just want assurance for whatever decision they will make. It is like asking a friend what to do with your life, but the truth is you already decided what to do in life. So yes, some people want to know the opinion of others. And sometimes, they want approval from others before they take the next step. But either way, I believe you are in win-win situation with eth and bitcoin.
Yes, the approval from others is what they are asking for. They want an assurance but that's not an enough reason for them to just do whatever is being told to them.
But with the choices, either of the two but it's always at the top choice that it must be bitcoin.

Bitcoin for the long haul. If I make profits off my alt coins, I will convert most of those profits in bitcoin.

It's the one and only. Ethereum has more uses, but it also has high gas fees, promises of making an eth 2.0 but with no time line and it's taking such a long time I feel another competitor might overtake them any time now with something better. There is a chance that even when they release eth 2.0, there might still be a competitor that has released something that is still even better with nearly no fees so Eth might get dethroned soon imo
What you are saying is very logical, because currently there are several new projects that use Blockchain other than Ethereum, which clearly can endanger Ethereum at this point, because Ethereum's competitors are already very much in crypto even though Ethereum is still not beaten by them, but it could be very dangerous for Ethereum which is already very well known in the crypto space.

And one more thing, I also agree that Bitcoin is very suitable for long-term assets.

Both have very unique features. Ethereum 2.0 will make a big difference in the blockchain. As my knowledge after Eth 2.0 trading fees will be reduced. When coming to BTC, It has more than 50% of crypto market dominance. Therefore HODL BTC will never worthless. Chance is yours! Both are very good for long-term hodl.
Yes, both are very good to hold for a long duration, but for this issue of ETH 2.0 I don't think it is clear whether it will have a good effect on costs on the ETH platform, the problem is that so far ETH 2.0 has not officially appeared.
As far as I have information, Ethereum 2.0 was launched last December. Transaction costs will low after the next London hard fork of Ethereum. If op can hold bitcoin or Ethereum for the long term. Then I will suggest holding any other top altcoins. Now for 100 USD, none of this coin is better. In my time, I will choose to invest in the EOS blockchain.

Bitcoin is already in the moon and to be honest it will be hard to see it going up to x100 on the current prize. But it wouldn't be weird to see ETH at $10k, so I would say ETH is a better bet than bitcoin today. Both are risky moves because the drop should come in some point, so, better hold the cash and ride the right wave.

It is better if you choose them both because eth and btc really have potential and I can say longterm because it has many benefits for people especially in companies that accept bitcoin payment for products even in malls so there are many big people or rich people who are interested in buying and storing because of the future of bitcoin so I would prefer them both to buy because it has a future.
It seems to me that both coins have their own perspectives. Both BTC and ETH can generate good returns. I have no doubt that the correction will not last very long and the coins will quickly be able to return to their previous values. And it's not clear to me why make a choice if you can buy both BTC and ETH and get the same benefits.

Both of these coins should be purchased for long-term storage and both provide almost complete guarantee of profit. Although now Ethereum is certainly losing its relevance. But all this is temporary, ETH will catch up.

Now is the time when everyone wants to invest in cryptocurrency and make a decent profit. Personally, I believe that you need to invest more than one coin in several of the most relevant coins that are very popular right now. And after a while it will be possible to determine which coin brought more profit. I believe that this will be the most correct way to learn about all the benefits of cryptocurrency. As for Bitcoin or Ethereum, both are better.

Why do you have to choose one if you could invest with both of them? Both Ethereum and Bitcoin are profitable especially when you buy at a good time. You could invest 50% in Bitcoin and 50% in Ethereum because both could grow in time. Be willing to take the risk and don't just invest with a single coin.
Exactly the right answer , and i  find it stupid of comparing these 2 main cryptos in what to invest because for me ? the more is the merrier .
Imagine how much you can earn/Lose when  you are in single coin while compared when you have 2?
Though personally i don't recommend Bitcoin solely and ethereum Solely also , there are other crypto that we can use as added support to our investments ,
we have seen many altcoins nowadays that making a best movement compared to the mentioned coins so why not?

I think it's hard to say which of these two coins are better, it depends on the investors preferences. Both ether and bitcoins are both looking very strong these days. In the past most of us made money with both coins, which is probably also why so investors tend to hold both of them. If you have money to invest I would recommend splitting it between the two and buy them both.

if you want to go full long term, then I believe Bitcoin is the best, the reason is holding Bitcoin long term guarantees even more gain because more people are getting to understand the value it offers hence the price increase witnessed during the bull run, with even more in the future. On the other hand, if you want to go for short term, Bitcoin and Ethereum can still work but in this case, splitting the funds with a higher portion going to Bitcoin would be a better move.

What do people think? Is it better to invest, say, 100 dollars in ether or bitcoin?

Bitcoin and ether are both good digital currency,  so for me if you have enough money to invest, it is better to invest it in that two good and primier digital currency because your profit is sure on that coins.

Always remember, it is better to put not in one basket your investment because if there are place where you invested your money you can easily manage your risk to lost and you can easily make a plan to succeed in life because you have a choice.

In my opinion, it is better to invest your funds in Bitcoin, if you do not want to wait for a quick profit. Bitcoin will continue to grow a lot more over time, so it's a better option in my opinion. Over time, your $ 100 may turn out to be xN multiplied.

Bitcoin is far much better because how it performs on the market gives direction of how other altcoins like ethereum will be expected to behave.

And with crypto adoption still looking like its growing fast, the high fees we pay on the eth blockchain make it unattractive which leaves us with coin to choose.
